I use the catcher view when hitting, has anyone tried the offset view with these sliders?

I'm 24-24 after 48 games, would be better if I hadn't had a 7 game losing streak in there. I swear there is something to momentum in this game or something, some of my pitchers just leave it right down the middle of the plate every time its a 2 strike count with runners on base..even if I try to put it in the dirt.

              Psycho,

A couple quick questions. I am using Knight's rosters (unpatched version) and your sliders with a couple minor tweaks on Veteran. I'm only about 17 games in and doing okay (5-12). Okay not that good. :-)

Anyway, I find that I'm swinging at everything and striking out a lot. I slowed the pitch speed down a tad, but is there a way to make the computer simply throw more strikes? I'm assuming strike frequency is the key here, but I notice a lot of people recommend turning that slider down (to the left), which I would think would lead to more balls being thown.

Also, do you know of a work-around for the innings pitched glitch when you view your releivers in the bullpen and the innings pitched stats are incorrect? I know this is resolved by installing the patch, but I was trying to avoid doing that because it introduces other issues and I would have to restart my season.

              Thanks...

I don't think you're going to be a good hitter in this game without a degree of patience man. You can turn that slider up as far as you want, but you still gotta practice and get some better pitch recognition. Also try to have an idea of the pitcher you're facing before the game, look at his pitches and how much they break, how fast they are, etc...should help out.

                  Hey Psycho,

I have a quick question for you. Do you see many starting pitchers going into the 8th or 9th inning, because I don't. Is this realistic? At most I'll see a pitcher go into the 7th. If the stamina of the starting pitcher is drained will the CPU always take that pitcher out no matter the situation (even with a shutout going, for example) ?

shady, redsfan has given you the exact advice i would have....stick with it, patience, it will come.

Infinite, yes, yes i do, if a pitcher is "on" against me ive often seen them go 8th/9th or even complete games, 120/130 pitches, its often dependant on who he is and who the manager it whether he yanks them.

Oh man I just had one of the most satisfying games I've ever had with the show. I won 18-2, snapping a 3 game losing skid against the Nationals. I hit 6 homers, 6 doubles, and 6 singles (balance!) and only gave up 7 hits to Washington. Not my best pitching performance sure, but I've never hit like that in any game before. Every starter had a hit, 7 of the 9 had at least two. Awesome.

Psycho let me preface my comments by first commenting on the outstanding quality of your sliders and thanking you for them. I have been a member of these forums since 2003 and rarely post but have found much valuable information on this site on many many sports games across the spectrum.

In my franchise I use the Royals, Knights rosters, and your sliders, and expect to hover around a .500 record or worse accordingly. I recently was perusing the board and read many posts and threads concerning the comeback AI feature and dismissed it as Operation Sports members "paranoia".

After too many "convenient" ai comebacks against Cruz and Soria and excruciatingly close games (leading to an 18-34 record) I decided to give the feature a try and switched it to on fully expecting to experience the game no differently then I did before.

However I unexpectantly found a completely different game waiting for me after the adjustment. I now win games 9-2, 10-0, and lose some in the same blow out fashion. I still have the occasional battles where the ai and myself have pitching duels as well as high scoring affairs that stay close but the scriptedness has completely been erased and the game feels random again. So much so that the game has been completely saved for me and I fully expect to play out the entirety of the season and off season and build my beloved Royals for future seasons. I play every game and the idea of preconceived outcomes was ruining my gaming experience. I am by no means winning every game but the feel of the contest has drastically changed.

I want to know if even just for the sake of argument you Psycho or others who use his sliders have tried making this adjustment and if so have you experienced similar or differing results. I am very much a skeptic of things like this due to the very real placebo effect but I have experienced a game changing ( and saving) difference in the way the Show plays now. I have drank the comeback AI Kool-aid and it tastes oh so good. Have any of you bothered to try this same thing or am I beating a very dead horse?

So I play my first game with these "perfect" sliders thinking that this is the fix for the comeback glitch, I was dead wrong. I'm up 4-2 going into the 8th inning and thinking there was no way they could comeback. I get two quick outs and everything is fine. And then it happens. Their next two batter get on base so I bring in Frank Francisco to get the last out. The next pitch is a 12-6 curve way low and Milton Bradley takes it yard.

                              Thanks

kiddlex, yes, before i started my chise properly i messed around with "it" on and off, i saw no difference whatsoever (still won/lost by blowout, won/lost close etc) hence my comments above.
