Maybe I was wrong after all. Just had a 10 inning classic without any comeback AI. The last game must have been a mistake on my end. I'm loving these so far though.

Re: ***The 'Perfect' Slider Set*** MLB 09 - The Show
Some of you (hopefully more than some) will remember the "Perfect" set from 08, and i hope they gave many people much enjoyment. This is to announce that the Perfect 09 set are under development, i have had numerous PM's asking about them so this is just to make it public.
As i said last year, please dont open this thinking im so conceited i think i have found perfection or even close to it, i havent, however what i have done is create a set of sliders for All-Star (you can use them on other levels if you want but they have been made with All-Star in mind) that i believe gives me, and hopefully you, the greatest balance of gameplay we can currently find.
I have created a spreadsheet and included what i consider to be the premier slider sets in here, namely Blzers, rudyjulys, Skyboxers and DallasRocks. Ive put them against each other, averaged figures to a certain degree, tested each set seperately and now i have basically merged what i believe to be the "strongest" part of each set to create this "perfect" set. I also tried default for a while so i could measure the changes against the box, so to speak.
Im currently putting the finishing touches to them and testing so i should be able to get the sliders themselves out later work permitting.
Sit tight

Re: ***The 'Perfect' Slider Set*** MLB 09 - The Show
I started my season with the Cubs a few months ago. I played around with the sliders and found myself back at the originals for the season start. These sliders have worked out great for me. However, I was through about 20 games and had a 12-8 record. I was hitting for about a .310 average and the computer was hitting a very low BA against me. I looked on MLB.com and found last years BAA ranged from .309 to .360 or something like that. In my season the computer was hitting somewhere probably around .260 against me. I moved up to HOF because of this and have lost 4 or 5 straight games. My BA has dropped to .289 and I like how the computer is hitting. So I have a few questions.
Did I move up to HOF too soon?
Should I adjust the sliders, move back down to All-Star, both, or just wait and see?
I also have played the season on guess pitch: 1/6, back to last year's where the location guess shows exactly where the ball will be, not sure if this effects anything just helps me lay off pitches off the plate.Comment

Re: ***The 'Perfect' Slider Set*** MLB 09 - The Show
Thats the problem im having however the computer is hitting but is not hitting any home runs. I bumped the home run slider from 6 to 8. Didn't seem to do any good. 4 game series agains the twins, me(4 home runs) cpu(0) but it's been good baseball so far 2wins and 2 losses.Comment

oli, dont know about PS2, try them and see.
stickum, 20 games is a very small sample size, yes, you jumped too soon
cjb, its the Twins, aside from M&M they dont have huge power hitters. Play against the Yanks/Sox/Tigers etc and you will soon find balls disappearing out of the ballpark.Comment

These sliders are horrible. No disrespect. I have been using most of default except for three. Global...Fielder reaction 8. Fielder speed 1 and Field throw at 3. I play on vetran and love it more then all star. Get great games using the Indians. just won a great game 7-4. We each had 10 hits. Grady hit a walk off. Oh baby its great. Hitting is what I like..Comment

Whats the matter I cant have an opinion fish and chips. The sliders are horrible. My opinion. Get off the pc and actually just play the game. Its a 59.99 video game. Thats what it is. The default works great in this game. Plus the people that are having problems with the comebacks, cant pitch. I will eat a fish and chip mate...cheersComment
