Guys, I will only say this once, please stay on-topic and continue to post your impressions but let's be civil about it and show some respect to the OP. You're only adding unnecessary clutter to his thread so cut it out.Comment

Hey Psycho thanks a lot for your time and effort putting together these sliders.
Just played my first game and finally scored more than 3 runs. GI was very pleased that these turned out the way they did. Thanks a lot againComment

Re: ***The 'Perfect' Slider Set*** MLB 09 - The Show
These are good sliders. Just a few things I can't stand about the game... Outfielders diving for balls they have no chance catching, which leads to too many triples and inside the park home runs. Not enough double plays. It's kind of like they can only turn a double play a few times in a series. Also if a ball is hit along the right field line and hits the wall, they rule it a double. That doesn't make sense to me. As for pitching, the one thing that frustrates me about the meter is that I can hit my sweet spot and the pitch ends up on the other side of the plate.
I don't know if these can be fixed with sliders or what, but it's rediculous. Any suggestions?Comment

No, thats quite deliberate, and so it should be. If the pitch went exactly where you wanted everytime you hit the sweet spot on the meter nobody would ever get a hit off you. Think about it.Comment

Re: ***The 'Perfect' Slider Set*** MLB 09 - The Show
Hey all, wanted to get your input here on what I should do. I've been using these sliders pretty much since day one and have been loving them. I've been doing a few tweaks here and there, but finally went back to the default v1.4 of Psycho's sliders.
Like I said, I've been having some great games but I've also been noticing a couple of bothersome things that seem to keep popping up as I play my franchise and I was hoping you guys might know of some tweaks to enhance my game play.
Playing as the Diamondbacks in Franchise and am currently 13-15. I am 30th in homeruns and it seems like I can only hit them when I'm hitting Righty vs Lefty and vice versa. I've started using the power swing a bit more and but really haven't seen a big jump at all in my home runs. I'm not a great high ball hitter so that may be a big part of my problem, but I'm wondering if I should increase my power or quality hits slider to help with this. I mean I'll even make perfect contact on a power swing up in the zone and hit a sharp grounder to short.
I think finally my other aspect is kind of tied to the pitcher confidence and was wondering whether most of you guys play with it on or off. Seems like I constantly have an issue getting to a pitcher early on, and when I don't he becomes unhittable and I see the same with my guys to a certain extent. Not game breaking by any means, and I see the realism, but just something I have noticed. This might also be tied to my inability to hit the long ball... I don't know though.
Any ideas?Comment

Re: ***The 'Perfect' Slider Set*** MLB 09 - The Show
What I meant by that is the cpu will hit a chopper along the foul line and it stays fair and it rolls and hits the foul pole but it doesn't go over the way. When that happens, they automatically rule it a double. My fielder doesn't even get to go and pursue it. It's weird. This is in Kaufman Stadium.
What about the outfielders diving for balls that they can't reach? Has that happened to you?Comment

awill i cant say i have ever seen what you are talking about. Outfielders diving for balls they miss? Yes, but i like that, it happens in real life too.
gobler, no problem, is what you say is genuine (and i will always give someone a second chance) then apology accepted and im glad you are enjoying the sliders. I use Knights roster so cant really comment on Ridins but im sure they are great too.Comment

Hey Pycho.
Which roster update is knight? I see so many. Then one I did download had some wrong players on different teams. I did ridins and its almost perfect. The power for some players is perfect. I start a new season with the phillies with your sliders. Lowe had me shut down for 8 innings down 2-0 I tied it up with a rollins triple. Then won in the ninth. What a game. nail biter. If you have the roster name for knight, please pass it along. i see so many with his name in the vault...thanksComment

Yes, some people have and apparently they still work fine on Vet or HOF.Comment

Re: ***The 'Perfect' Slider Set*** MLB 09 - The Show
Psycho are you seeing any unrealistic averages with these?
I've taken forever to get my season started, never could settle on the team I wanted but finally got it started. Probably a good thing because I've improved my plate discipline with more practice. But anyway I'm in my 10th game and I've gone back to using the exact sliders you have in this thread.
Through 10 games though Nate McClouth is hitting over .400. It seems like he goes 3-4 every game where guys like Brad Hawpe and Freddy Sanchez can't get a hit to save their life. I did finally get their averages over .200 but it's been a struggle.
I know you've probably played over 50 games so I was wondering if the statistics work themselves out over the long run with these sliders.Last edited by Braves Fan; 06-23-2009, 01:05 AM.Comment
