Re: How are people liking the default sliders so far?
I am on All-Star and I have had some pretty good games after making very small changes
Pitch speed lowered - 1
Outfielder speed lowered -2
Contact for Human lowered - 1
Solid hits CPU lowered - 2
Contact for CPU lowered - 2
Stealing ability lowered- 2
This is what i found is pretty accurate.Comment

Re: How are people liking the default sliders so far?
I think they are pretty good on veteran. I don't think the cpu pitcher is inaccurate enough, but all in all I find them pretty good.
I am doing a fantasy draft 14-game season to get some results back before I tweak. This roster issue is actually working out quite well for me.Comment

Re: How are people liking the default sliders so far?
Granted I have only played a handful of games, but I think the fielder speed is a little aggressive. Their is definitely more variety in the type of infield hits, including much faster grounders, and this a few more balls to squirt past the speedy defense.I like it the twitter.....Comment

Re: How are people liking the default sliders so far?
I havent moved any sliders, and playing as the Pirates I just beat the Tigers 4-3 in 12 frames on a walk off dinger. I think they're pretty fair, and as far as the CPU pitcher not being inaccurate enough, if you wait for your pitch you'll get thrown plenty of balls. I took either 3 or 4 walks in the game.Comment

Re: How are people liking the default sliders so far?
Ive only touched one slider and that was to lower the CPU Strike Frequency one click and I had a great time last night. I worked 4 walks off of Chris Young but couldnt make him pay as he either wiggled out of jams or walked guys at the bottom of my lineup and my pitcher would kill any potential rally. I ended up losing to San Diego 5-2 thanks to Corey Wade giving up 2 solo homeruns in the 8th inning after Billingsley pitched a fantastic game striking out 7 in 7 innings. So far I see no need to mess with any other sliders but Im sure that will change over time.Comment

Re: How are people liking the default sliders so far?
The only thing I've adjusted thus far is the pitch speed slider to make up for the fact that I have trouble catching up to fastballs (while looking for something else). Leads to me having way more strikeouts than what would be considered normal for an MLB player (messes up the balance, in other words). This really only applies to games against the CPU - because its pitches tend to miss closer to the plate which requires a better eye to identify them as ball or strike.
Translation: I suck and need a little bit of help to get a realistic game. It's either this or Guess Pitch.
Everything else seems really, really good.Comment

Re: How are people liking the default sliders so far?
I was fine up until I started a franchise, then whoa!!! All Star leveled, O's vs Rays there was a combined 24 runs on 36 hits. I lost 15-9. This game is definitely different than the 1 and 1/2 seasons I spent with 08. I'm loving it, just need to get my settings under control. All the exhibition games I played was 5-3, 2-1, 8-4, etc....Highheat's O's Franchise

Re: How are people liking the default sliders so far?
Played my first game with default sliders on Hall-of-Fame. Hard to judge on one game, but I thought the game was played pretty well and balanced. I was the Angels and beat the Twins 8-2, but it was 3-2 until the 7th. I'd say its pretty good, but again, one game doesn't dictate it.
Usually I find tweaked sliders online tend to be subjective and not necessarily ideal for any individual. I guess it depends on how you want your games played.Comment

Re: How are people liking the default sliders so far?
ive had perfect games [not the 27 up/27 down variety]and all i did was tweak pitch speed, so i can learn to read pitches better, and moved the pitcher slider down a bit which mkaes them throw more balls.
also to help me with my batters eye
plays like a dream out of the boxComment

Re: How are people liking the default sliders so far?
Im playing on hall of famer and the only thing ive had to adjust so far is fielder speed. I may have to adjust stealing ability as well.. seems like I am always getting great jumps.
Im diggin the defaults so far.. im sure something will come up though..Comment

Re: How are people liking the default sliders so far?
Is anyone still playing on default, or damn near it anymore? Im still completely default minus the CPU Strike Frequency slider which I believe is at 3 currently andam having a good time so far. My pitching has given up 7 runs in 2 games but they were both against Pittsburgh which might make my pitching numbers look better then they should be. My hitting is probably too good though as Ive scored 14 runs on 28 hits in those 2 games but again, its the Pirates' Zach Duke and Maholm that I faced so that might also be slanting my hitting stats.
The funny thing is, I played an exhibition game with everything at default and faced off against San Diego and Chris Young walked 5 guys. Ive played 2 games in my franchise with the strike frequency lowered slightly and only walked a total of 2 times and the CPU is throwing far more strikes then it did before so I may end up going back to complete default settings if the walks continue to be few and far between.
I guess Im dumbfounded by the amount of slider changes being made already. IMO, the game plays damn near perfect out of the box. Im getting shots down the line, shots into the gaps, guys making diving plays etc. The only thing I havent really seen yet is bloopers but having only played 2 games that could change anyways. Just looking for feedback from others who are using primarily defualt sliders still.Comment

Re: How are people liking the default sliders so far?
My findings have been
Too many balls smoked.
Too many balls sneak under the infielders glove.
Too many balls thrown down the middle by the cpu (didn't there used to be a slider for the cpu to work the corners, or was that 2k?) This may be tied to the balls being nailed.
Too many wild pitches by the cpu.
Games are heavy on offense.
Needs some tweaking imo.Comment
