Good stuff, it really is all there, it just sometimes comes in spits and spurts, like real life, ive had periods of no homers for 4 games then 5 in the next game, but thats baseball!

Thanks guys, it did finally happen last night in a game against the Rangers, using the O's, Guerrero and Kinsler both went deep on me, I missed a few pitches and the white line on the meter disappeared. I left a curve ball hang in the zone to Vlad, and he crushed it, then Kinsler, a couple innings later delivered off the foul pole in left. I'm set for my franchise now. It's amazing how different game to game is with this set. Great job again Psycho.

Just curious what people are getting for K's with your pitchers on this set ? Im using Classic the only adjustment is i lowered control to 5 instead of 6. Great feel so far !

Hey guys,

With the realization that we all have a slightly different gaming experience and are just having discussion. Here are 3 changes that I made and am researching ...

[1] Fielder Reaction Speed to 6. At 10, I saw, for my taste, too many Ozzie Smith plays, including multiple by the same player in the same game. I've seen some 3 hoppers get through the infieold, bu also saw Stephen Drew make the best diving play I've seen on the game on a 2-hop rocket by Teahen.

[2] Lowered User Pitch Consistency by one click. At times, It didn't seem to matter who I was pitching with (Peavy or Garcia) or who I brought in from the bullpen (Giordano or Thornton), but even one little click of this slider, dramatically affect how close to the "target" the end result is based on how close you were to the yellow line. Pretty much the lesser the pitcher the lesser your margin for error. All of the sudden Tony Pena went from a lights out reliever to a potential liability. I like that. FWIW, the margin for error to 3B Mark Reynolds is "minimal" *grin* ... you better miss OUT of the zone, not IN it.

[3] I did increase solid hits for both teams to one, and appreciated the difference. Now, for myself, I'm admittingly not very good at hitting (I increased user batting timing to 6 to try and help). My problem isn;t that I chase everything, although that can happen in stretches, or that I K too much, but rather when I get my pitch I hit the crap out of it .... only just foul. Anyway, I noticed the solid hits slider, even at just one click, helped the AI shoot some rockets into the gaps for extra bases. Getting more "balanced scoring" among teams, not just "single + homer".

I'm using the White Sox, who feature four pretty good starters and a quality bullpen, and far too many of my pitchers had ERA's under 2.00, with half of them under 1.00 ... my offense is pretty crappy, both by ratings and by my lack of skill coming over from MVP and 2K.

Just making conversation, not insulting the original sliders. It is nice to play a game where the default sliders only need slightly tweaked based on individual, versus looking to the sliders to "fix the game".

Right now for me it feels like the pitcher is too close and I can't seem to judge the ball fast enough causing me to swing late a lot

Change your batting view to wide, and/or lower pitch speed.

I play with the Cubs and so far getting about 7-8 Ks per game and 2.5 walks...right on Psycho.

Averaging about 6-8 k's and 3-4 walks, and thats with the Red Sox

Psycho I have pitching control at 5 and consistency at 4 for both user and cpu. At default I thought it was way too easy to paint the corners (this is meter pitching)....whats the logic for raising them? Just curious.

The logic is that raising the CPU's control and consistency makes them throw at the corners more, leading to more misses. Although it's mostly true, you need a crazy good eye because the CPU does start pelting the corners like darts.

For me personally, I like to keep the Control at default and drop the Consistency a notch or two. It feels like it "loosens up" the CPU a bit and expands the pitching charts and I see a wider range of misses, as opposed to balls that barely miss the strike zone.

Try out his sliders and see what happens though. I completely agree with his hitting and global sliders and use them and been getting awesome games lately (once i figured out to be patient and start hitting more homeruns)

I am playing these with classic on HOF pitching and would suggest if you do lower the contact timing and power to 2 instead of default. It plays very well.
