    No need for CAPS!

The fielder reaction has to be at 10 (in my opinion) because otherwise you will see way too many dribblers getting through infielders gloves that shouldnt.

    Thanks!
Nope, trust me, the raising of control and consistency will make you walk the CPU more, not less, because (as long as you are trying to paint the corners like i do) you will not leave so many pitches that miss the target over the dish, hence more balls hence more walks. With lower cont/consis you will leave too many over the dish hence less walks. I walked 5 last night in one game alone, and i loved it! I was trying to paint the black too much and paid the price.

As far as error, by default (before these sliders) I always bumped throwing and fielding errors to 7 and I get a decent amount of errors.

I get games with 1 or 2 errors, and plenty of games with 0.

I'm liking the sliders alot. Before these came out and with the default sliders, my games were typically low scoring affairs. With these sliders, my first game was 9-7. I issued more walks as well, which while annoying, is realistic.

Yep, that will be the case as i said above, not enough walks by the Human has always been a problem in baseball games, not this year

Another year, another year enjoying your sliders PB. You're definitely right about pitching and human walks. Played a game last night using Homer Bailey, who is no Greg Maddux, and even if the meter was centered the pitches would miss at times. I absolutely love that.

Re: *****The 'Perfect' Slider Set***** MLB 10 - The Show

About 10 games in, I'm really digging these sliders. I progressed pretty quickly from Rookie to to All-Star (my first year with The Show) and I read these were the sliders to have at this level.

I was hesitant at first with the batting sliders at default because of the lack of power I saw on Veteran, but me and the CPU are crushing the ball. My last game alone I was pitching with Burnett and issued 4 BBs, K'd 4 and gave up two HRs (Abreu and Napoli). It was 4-3 in the 7th when I brought in Gaudin and he gives up two more bombs (Izturis and Napoli again) to make it 9-3. In that same game I hit two HRs with Randy Winn (solo and 2-run HRs). I eventually lost 9-4.

The game before that there were a combined 7 HRs hit (Nick Johnson (2), Tex (2), ARod, Matsui, and Rivera).

I'm not complaining, it's just nice to see these hitting sliders really didn't changed much from default and I'm getting these results.

Thanks for these sliders...now if only we can get those OS Full Minor rosters going I'll be set for the next 7 months

Bulk I completely agree that fielder reaction needs to be at 10. However I don't understand how raising the pitch cons and control will make me walk more. This just scares me cuz I use these on HOF with classic pitching and its already a little to erratic. And when I upped it I felt like I had much more control which trust me I need although this was only for a couple games. Am I not getting something here.

If so, thats very interesting, and ure not the first one that i c sayin that.

I use meter, not classic, they may play differently on the two, but i can 100% guarantee on meter the higher the consistency the more walks you will issue, for the reasons ive described above.

PB ... here's my thinking on this.

[1] In a video game there will likely never be the 6.6 walks per game that MLB experiences. This is important because in order to get a realistic number of runs per game, you have to have a realistic numbers of baserunners per game. The only way to counter-balance the decreased number of walks (inherent in every video game) is too allow for slightly more hits.

[2] In order for batting averages to attain a league average type of realism, BABIP (Batting Average on Balls in Play) has to be a stable percentage. The fielder reaction so high MAY cause BABIP to be too low, so that user batting averages and Opponents Average Against will be lower than the other teams in simmed games.

[3] The combination of fewer walks and lower BABIP is going to result in fewer runs per games, compared to the league, unless one has more homers in their games as well ... which could also skew those numbers.

I think against most teams, 1-3 routine grounders in the "right spot" have to get through to keep runs, hits, (hence BA, OAA, etc) at a realistic MLB amount. Even the best defenders may only rob 1-2 hits per game, and probably only (realistically) 2-3 per series or every 5 games or so.

I'm just discussin' here, not preachin' or lecturin', and I likely look at this stuff in more detail that most gamers. When I reduced the reaction time down a bit, I noticed 2 new animations that I had not seen in 22 games played: [1] A jam shot blopper just out of the reach of the 3B, and [2] a routine, "well placed" grounder that skirted just under the gloves of both a diving 3B and a diving SS that rolled into the OF. The big "red flag" to me was Everth cabrera making the same sliding play deep in the hole three times in one game, nailing the runners each time. That thing might happen twice in a series, but likely never in one game. I try to take it into context that it was just a single game ... but the defensive wizardry by Pablo Sandoval in the prevoius game, heightened my awareness.

If nothing else, it may just be something to keep an eye on and see how it plays out over tens of games.

Psycho damn man I just switched to these sliders yesterday and freakin love what I am seeing so far.

I know 4 games is a small sample size but otherwise its awesome. The one thing I changed is fielder reaction I have at 8.

                            Thanks again man.

Your sliders, N8rocker sounds, and Knights roster make for a damn awesome summer of videogaming!!!!

Interesting stuff and something else to consider is that more hits, etc. may actually lead to more walks as pitchers are likely to lose some confidence. How we find that perfect balance of keeping pitchers in the game still though without being yanked then due to more hits, etc. becomes a huge challenge.

This is a very in depth analysis but definitely makes a good point. As much as I hate watching infielders olay routine ground balls to the left or right I have definitely seen my share of web gems lately. I said earlier I agreed with bulk but now I'm up in the air with this one good discussion though.
