Lol. My god I have lost all 3 starts in my season with maine. First two were bad (6 runs in 5 innings bad.) The third one great pitching by maine lol and the cards pitching shut my mets offense down. 1~0. I will win one game with him I swear it.

Any tips for hitting the ball into the gaps. It seems like the outfielders are all over the place. I am making contact and I think double, but they get there in a flash.

Re: *****The 'Perfect' Slider Set***** MLB 10 - The Show

        Good Day,

I have been playing The MLB The Show since it was released in 2006. I love it , I truly enjoy playing this game as I am a die hard baseball fan. (Borderline obsessed) I purchased a PS 3 about three months ago, and then immediately ran out and got MLB 10 The Show. I'm lost. I always start a 162 game season, playing on veteran, and then to All-star when I get hot. However this game is much different. The slogan is "What's realistic" and I cannot find that feel. I have started and then deleted several seasons the past couple of months and have started a season with the St. Louis Cardinals. I'm currently 10-3. However I'm dead last in hits, team BA, runs scored. However I'm ranked in the top five in almost all pitching categories. I play on All-star. The hitting is so difficult and un realistic it makes me sick. I have played with Psycho sliders along with many others, and I think I just make my own. I have always thought of channeling the sliders as cheating, but I realize that they are adjusted for the users ability. I have had the biggest problem with just getting hits, and seeing the ball. PLEASE someone help me because iv gotten to the point ware Jim just going to get rid of the game and maybe even my system if I continue to adjust the sliders and teams. Thank you

I'm Thinking about just lowering the pitch speed and perhaps this will help. The system always tells me that I'm early on pitches so maybe I should lower the pitch speed or raise it.

This is what I'm thinking of....

If your early all the time that means your too anxious. Try weighting slightly longer, and if that doesn't work you would increase speed not decrease.

When you're getting a lot of "very late" and / or "very early" comments on swing analysis it's a timing issue...

leave the sliders as Psycho has them execpt:

Raise your timing one click to 6

Lower soild hits one click to 4 to compensate

Lower pitch speed to your liking

Consider batting on Veteran and piching on All Star, at least until you get the timing down...

Well, the above tweaks worked for me...good luck and thanks again to Psycho for the great set of sliders!

Curious, why would lowering solid hits compensate for being able to swing earlier or later and still make decent contact?

Just an advice from someone that had speed at 3 and, like you, was always EARLY on the swing. Put the pitch speed at 5!

I find it just as difficult to see the ball as before (not easier or harder) BUT your timing will improve!

Man I am only getting like 5-6 hits a game. 3-4 runs a game. Why do I have problems with the mets. Lol don't get me wrong. I like playing as the mets, but with the yanks I had 9-10 hits a game. 6-9 runs a game. Is it that big of a difference. Or do I just suck as the mets. Or I just need to go back to rookie hitting.

Yes, it's that big of a difference. Playing as the Yankees is basically child's play.

The increse in timing makes hitting the ball easier, so lowering the solid hits keeps it from getting too easy (IMHO)...

For me, my porposed tweaks translated into less strikeouts, and a couple extra base hits (instead of lots of singles), but pretty much the same amount of total hits...

If you raise contact, (as the poster was prepared to do) you'd likely see and increase in batting average / total hits...

Once again, that's how it played out for me...

Agree with the first part of your post! As for the second, changing how the ball reacts after hit wouldn't offset the difficulty/result.

Think about it this way, changing the timing will allow you to make more contact and hit the ball to gaps and find more holes - lowering solid hits will just make those balls choppers, popups, and fouls. (outs).

In my experience, the tradeoff I suggested has resulted in more realistic stats due to fewer K's and more fly / ground outs, while turning a single or two (per game) into a double into the gap or possibly a home run here and there that might have been a warning track shot...

Nothing super dramatic, but it helped this 'old guy' get a bat on the ball...

I went from 10-15 K's per game to 4-6, and my total / extra bases increased only slightly...

This is why sliders are soooo subjective to the relative skill of the user and the quality of the team they use...

The poster I replied to seemed to have simliar issues that I'd experienced, so the tweaks I suggested were minor, but worked perfectly for me...

And now my "played games" player and team stats are more in line with the totals that simming brought about...

Lmao I guess you're right. Last night It seemed like the computer was promised by god to win. And the game was helping the computer. (Keep in mind I am just mad) I don't mind losing as long as I feel the game did not cheat me. But when they hit a freaking ground ball and I Make the catch and hit O to throw out the computer and my guy waits till the runner crosses the bag to throw, I got a problem. I just hope I was off my game last night.

I have that same problem when the IF is in trying to cut the runner down at the plate. I had a bases-loaded 1 hopper go to my pitcher. He took his time, patted his glove and then delayed a throw to home, allowing the tying to run to score. I IBB'd the next runner to set up the same force type play at home. A hard grounder to SS resulted in the same type of thing .... SS takes his time, and the throw is late to home.

I had the same "there's no way I was going to win that game" feeling.
