What are your settings for feilding speed and reaction for mlb 2010 the show. can i use them?

      hey all...
still love these sliders. BUT i am wanting to get more of a challenge from meter pitching. i have tried classic pitching with these sliders, and while it was a nice breath of fresh air, i still just find the meter pitching more appealing....there is something with the seeing the meter, stopping the meter at the right time, etc that i really enjoy. the problem for me now is that every pitcher can feel the same with meter pitching though.....wondering if there is anything i can do to make meter pitching more challenging. the difficulty settings i am using right now are both set to All Star for hitting and pitching.

      thanks in advance!!

would these sliders be good for someone who has a LOT of trouble hitting HR'S? (i have hit one (which was robbed) in like 18 games....(in season mode)

Am I a total cheeser? For my RTTS, I've had to move pitch speed to 0 so that I could actually get around consistently on fastballs over 94, without flailing at offspeed pitches. I have a very good eye in this game, very good...but I still was just making poor, unrealistic, contact the other way too much for my liking.

Seems much more realistic for me now, but now I'm mashing the hell out of the ball...all be it for a lot of singles though...maybe 2 games is too small of a sample.

Anyone else with similar experiences? I was hitting about .260 before I made the switch, but was just making awful contact, and I had to do too much guess work for my liking.

FWIW, I do NOT use the prediction stuff. I have it activated, but just so I can get a better review of previous pitches, etc.

Psycho, are you going to be doing a set for MLB 11? If you do I hope you use timing only hitting, i believe this uses the players attributes the most.

I shall indeed be doing a set again this year...and yes, i use timing only hitting, always have always will, find it the most enjoyable.

Like last year so many sliders will no doubt stay at default, 10 played a very good game out of the box with only minor tweaks needed, no reason from what ive experienced in the demo to think 11 wont the same if not better.

Also if I remember correctly last year did not have an option for timing only hitting and you created a set to use without moving the PCI at all which worried me due to the fact that the PCI only stayed in the middle of the strike zone which made me feel that sometimes pitches that were barely out of the strike zone were very hard to make decent contact. So I'm really looking forward to your set this year with the timing only option available.

Hey Psycho ive been playing The Show since 08 and have used youre sliders in 09 and 10(which are awesome) ive been playing 11 since yesterday and as with every year im totally frustrated with batting. Ive given up on analog for now but my question is with PCI. Im using youre setting from 10 except im using veteran mode and this year you have the option of Zone batting or Timing batting if you stick with the buttons. If i use zone the circle stays put but if i use timing it seems the circle goes off in random directions and im not using the left stick at all. You seem like the guy to go to with this stuff and im not sure what to do?? The reason i say this is that this year compared to last it feels like i cant hit anything just outside the box especially just above the strike zone which is frustrating.

When were the sliders on the first page last updated? It says April but I don't know if that is updated. Thanks in advance.

I have been using very similar hitting sliders but on Legend. I've finally decided that I don't like averaging striking out 10 times a game. Will these work fine on HoF?

These sliders are for last years game but should work pretty well this year, also I read somewhere that Psycho uses HOF for both pitching and hitting.

well ive been looking on the forums and i may have answered my own question. It looks as though they revamped it this year so that when you choose "timing" instead of anolog or zone batting it takes the player attributes into effect. I use the Mets on franchise and i play for awhile here and there until Psycho puts the sliders out. Basically what they've done is make it more random so that you get a real game effect. If i get the timing down pat i can get 15 hits per game avg. Now im lucky to get 7 - 10 which i do like. MY ISSUE with this is now home runs are almost non existent i've played 4 games and i have two homers total. Angel Pagan in the opener barely over the wall and an inside the park homer with Jason Bay in my second game and nothing since. I dont know if im not being patient enough or maybe because my team isnt that good overall they're attributes have little effect on homering. I mean i should be killing it with Bay, Beltran and especially Wright last year had avg 25 homers each. Im not looking for mvp because i play to win the World Series. I love the new gameplay but i gotta hit some homers. Any help would be greatly appreciated. @Psycho- CANT WAIT FOR THE SLIDERS THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!!

The home runs are there, I've hit 4 with the Braves in the first 3 games. Uggla, McCann, Prado, and McClouth all had homers with a few very close calls. Heyward hit one that would of been a 3 run homer which would of put me ahead in the top of the tenth but it was shy by 3 freakin feet! I ended up getting swept by the freakin Nats due to poor pitching, Moylan got killed during the series blowing leads in 2 games. So in conclusion after playing a few games it plays very well with Psyho's sliders from last year.

The relief has finally come. I do this every year, get frustrated and not give myself enough time. After my first few games ive begun hitting homers. Was up 7-0 on the Phillies pitching with R.A. Dickey (his knuckleball is almost unhitable) once i brought in my reliever i blew it and lost 8-7. Never thought id be happy about losing to philly but ive found my balance and the game feels so real now especially with last years sliders. Idk if this matters im playing with Guess Pitch off. So far its very competitive with everything in timing relying on player attributes. All i can say with anyone who gets frustrated with this game early on is use last years sliders and be patient. I always play 1 or 2 games and get frustrated if im killing teams or if i cant hit. It seems like if you give it a few games everything starts to even out. And ive noticed on the timing setting if players start doing good and you take pitchers into longer counts you will see the ball alot better. I had 13 hits with 3 homers on Joe Blanton and the very next game i had 2 hits against Roy Halladay. Stay with it give yourself time to adjust to your settings. If you get impatient and keep changing them youre back at square one. Thats my take anyway.

Everybodys different but im going All Star Hitting on Timing, All Star Pitching with the Meter Setting and All Star Button Throwing with NO Guess Pitch and im using Psychos slider set from 2010. He'll have better ones im sure but these are as close to last years as you'll get for now. Im the guy that plays MLB The Show from March until Dec-Jan then i have a two month gap which makes me rusty with hitting by the time March comes around. I highly recommend turning on timing and saving youre settings then go into batting practice and play TIMING and CONTACT over and over until you get your stride back and go against an elite pitcher the toughest guy to hit against. I went up against Holiday just cuz with the Mets i see the Phillies alot. It definately helped also put your entire line up in the Homerun Derby for whatever settings you will use. This helped me get a sense of timing for long balls. Oh and so far i dont use circle for contact or square for power just plain ol x button. But like i said everybodys different. Just a suggestion.
