You need to understand how standard deviation works.

What are your pitch counts per game? What is your K/BB %? What is your WHIP?

(causing the ball to 'break' away by the masse')
lol....so your saying that in the 3 click process of the meter, that the 3rd click to hit the accuracy line, that i should not be trying to hit that line?

i must say that sounds ridiculous, but i am curious as to your thoughts on this. i assume this applies to breaking balls. So if you can, provide pitch specific examples to explain this

i understand baseball. i am 37 and been around long enough to know the game.

i dont have exact stats, but like i already posted.

      pitch count 120-140 per game
      2 walks per game
      8 K per game
i dont know my whip right now

i give up 10-15 hits and the cpu scores 1-2 runs. it happens way to often which is why i made this post

Exactly. It blows my mind that not many people understand the meter.

No, it doesn't just pertain to breaking or off speed stuff. Try this. Go to the pitching practice mode and throw fastballs with the ball marker in the dirt, and stop the accuracy ABOVE the white/yellow line. The ball will actually tail up. Likewise for the opposite (drop off). Throw a slider without moving the ball marker stopping it with perfect accuracy. Then throw a slider in the same spot, but stop it well below the accuracy - the ball will move significantly more, many times (unless you hang it over the plate) to your advantage.

At lesser difficulty levels, this is moot, the CPU ignores patterns more. At higher levels, if you'd stop the meter on the line every time, you'd get killed.

Above the line reduces or 'raises' the pitch, below the line increases the break. This is a major component of mixing up pitches.

I don't doubt you understand baseball, and judging by your 'stats' I can't help you. I mention standard deviation because I would imagine that over time, given what you've listed as far as stats - the opposite would occur. I still recommend moving pitching to HOF, and backing off the CPU contact and timing a few clicks, and taking solid hits to 1 or 2, and report back.

after looking into this theory of yours corey, i think its cheese to try and trick the cpu into not being able to follow your pattern. Its not that people dont understand how the meter works, its that your using a cheese move to take advantage of the cpu.

based on your way of pitching, thats like telling a real MLB pitcher to purposely use a improper release point. That would never happen. The white accuracy line is a pitchers release point. If your missing it on purpose to disrupt the cpu's ability to read your patterns, then that up to you. But its not how the meter is meant to be used

A lot of guys on HOF and Legend would greatly disagree with you.
