Marcus' veteran sliders

my friend marcus sent me these to try out. i have played 12 games with these. I am 8-4 with some blow outs and some awesome finishes for both HUM an CPU teams getting the win. I figured I would post them for some feedback. He posts on gamefaqs every now and then as Daredevil8753 in case you are familiar with his sliders on there in past years.

played one game each today with my two separate season teams and had great games. would post info but have to get ready for work but will post game results soon as i can... will continue with these on my next four days off and give full updates..

I decided to give this set a try and it's working out nicely for me. I dropped down from AS/AS because I'm new to the franchise this year and maybe I tried to bite off more than I can chew. So these might fit my skill level right now.

2 Games in and I'm pleased. After 10 games, I'll let you know my results.

im up to 21 games with these. I am 14-7 and my bullpen has been a saving grace for my team. i have had some good games. fair and back and forth affairs that felt realistic. im liking these better than my own veteran sliders.

nice. did you keep the pitch speed at 2? That's the only thing I changed. I have mine at 5.

i actually go back and forth at times. it is a personal preference but some days I go with 5 then another day if I play after work and im out of it i will put it on 2. i dont really see as dramatic a difference with the pitch speed as there was in mlb 10. my friend marcus said he uses 4 for the speed and at times power he puts up to 7 as he said he has gone 5+ games at times without a single home run but thats all he has changed.

How is the CPU's pitching with these on vet?
The few times I've tried veteran before it seems the CPU throws the ball over the plate way too much.
I've said in another thread that I really like hitting on HOF because of how the CPU pitches, but I am just not a good enough hitter to last on that level (21 K's in my last game).
If the CPU pitchers throw a realistic strike % I may have to go back and give veteran a shot, at least for hitting.

I played a 3 game series vs the Rockies. I think I had about 2 walks per game. The MLB average is 3.3 - I'll make a final judgement after 10 games

I updated his latest sliders in the main post. Just had a great game on these with the modifications.

The game was a picthers duel. RA Dickey had the knuckleball working and Gallardo was throwing nasty stuff. Gallardo struck out 13. Dickey struck out 5 and KROD struck out 2. My only runs were a second inning home run by Jason Pridie in the 2nd and an RBI triple by Pridie in the 7th.

The Brewers threatened a few times with runners on. twice I threw out would be base stealer's and on one play I gunned down Morgan at home plate Bay to Reyes to Thole for the out to keep it 1-0 at the time.

I did notice though every single check swing sing I began using these (for the HUM controlled team) seems to be a strike on the appeal. This is with X and not the power or contact swing.

i believe it was just hum power, cpu pitch speed, cpu strike frequency, and cpu pitch consistency.

Cool. I was considering dropping the those cpu sliders as well. Glad you guys saw the same adjustment.

Sounds like you had a good sim style game. I had one in the series finale vs the Cubs. Lost the game to a walk off single scoring two runs in the 10th inning. My closer, J.J. Putz, blew the save opp in the 9th giving up a two run homerun, which made the game go to extra innings.

The line score was
Arizona 4-8-1
Chicago 5-12-2

The first two games Chicago hitting was pretty weak. Good to see some life from them vs my best pitchers. After 6 games I'm 3-3. The Cubs are now 2-4.

By the way I noticed you updated the post that you're using Timing hitting. I'm using zone. You think that makes a difference in the slider settings?

ive been using timing. he says he is using zone. we are seeing very similar results in box scores. he seems to get a few more HR's. thats about it.

I had a great game last night. I was up 3-0 in the bottom of the 9th. bring on krod. walks the first guy, next guy doubles. hit batter the next so now bases loaded no outs. next batter pops it up infield fly rule. next batter strikes out chasing the curveball. then a 2 run double by ryan zimmerman makes it 3-2. next batter up. 3-2 score. 3-2 count. he hits one up the middle. reyes dives and robs him. throw to first JUST in time. it was one of the more exciting games ive had in years TBH.

Sounds like a fun game. Isn't that what it's all about? Having fun, win or lose.

I have noticed a lot of doubles and triples though. I need to play more games to get a feel if they are off wack. I've heard other people talk about this in other sliders.
