    Re: Marcus' veteran sliders

I decided to take a step back as I might start my season over again. I'm considering going back to the orginal settings listed in the first post and trying timing hitting out.

Goning to mess around in some test spring trainning modes and see how I like everything.

ok decided to move back to 5 for pitch consistency. I did go with the power for the cpu at 4. the power up and my consistency down resulted in 5 straight games that I got blown out and in 5 games I allowed 72 hits. not realistic.

on a side note any one know what the difference between rookie pitching and veteran is for the human controlled player?

I was just coming on here to update the hum pitch consistency. we also put it back to 5. I didnt like how on 4 even if you were "just" off on the meter the ball went straight over the middle of the plate 9 times out of 10 rather than out of the zone or something similar. We also moved manager hook up to 7 (garza allowed 8 hits and 6 runs in the first 3 innings and they still let him pitch 8 electing not to pinch hit for him at any time; I have seen this often too). wind is now at 3 as it seems to solve the home run problem people have experienced on balls that should be hit better than they are.

updated the first post with some of the updates we did. these so far have been the best sliders marcus and I have come up with. we get realistic games with them. no matter what we did with the sliders, upping cpu offense, lowering our pitching it seems the human controlled pitching will always be near the top of the league while batting in the middle- lower end of the league.

Had a game on these sliders last night against the Phillies. down 6-5 in the top of the 9th ike davis leads off with a game tying home run then later hairston picks up an rbi double and then a sac fly makes it 8-8 mets. k-rod comes in. walks a man, then 2 base hits follow. bases loaded 0 outs. got an infield pop up, strike out, and a fly out at the wall for the win. the entire game felt smooth, realistic, and was a lot of fun to play.

Are these sliders still working for you? I'm thinking of giving them a shot.

Do you use meter pitch? I use meter and pitch from the outfield view. I'm thinking of using the same sliders but pitching on all star. Geronimo...did you get decent results? I read above you were going to try that.

                    Re: Marcus' veteran sliders

I've been using these sliders in my Cincinnati Franchise and after 20 games, I find myself sitting atop the standings at 16-4. Indeed, I have a great pitching staff with a team ERA of 2.04. As far as team hitting goes, I've in the middle of the pack in most categories. I'm concerned that things are a bit too easy for me because my pitching staff is so dominant. Sure, I've had one bullpen meltdown but I shouldn't be able to come from behind in seemingly every game. Game 20 was supposed to be a quality matchup for me, Reds at Cards. In the end, I handled the Cards 8-1, who were 12-7 going into the game.

I know that I'm decent in my skills at this game but I'm not good enough to be playing .800 ball. A part of me wishes that there was a way to make my pitching less effective or at least not so dominant.

Yeah I use Vet batting but AS pitching. Been good for me so far.

I agree. I've decided to give Classic pitching a shot and so far, I like what I'm seeing. I suppose meter pitching was a bit too easy for me as far as spotting pitches.

Perhaps I spoke too soon. Classic pitching might not work for me. For some reason, I miss the pitching meter. I really do. I think I will give AS meter pitching a shot.
