    HOF "the right way"

This is by no means a bash on slider makers throughout this board. I have tried almost every slider set and have found hitting too easy or too hard, and pitching too easy or too hard. I recently just started a Franchise with my Cubs on HOF default, with timing hitting and zone pitching with no idea what to expect. So far, I am 6-6 and just like the real life Cubs, I've been every .500 record possible up to this point. My ERA is 4.16 and my average is .269. I average about 7 strikeouts a game pitching and 3 walks and average around 8 hitting and 3 walks a game hitting as well. This is by far the greatest experience of this game I have ever had. Has anyone else had this success playing on default HOF? I am going to post some box scores to prove how great this is.

Those stats look great, no matter how small the sample size. Let me ask you, what did your stats look like when playing on All Star? I was always afraid the CPU would just tee off on anything in the strike zone and I would never string a few solid hits together on HOF.

On All-Star I hit over .300 with 2 HR's a game and have a ERA under 3.00 every game almost. Using pyscho and thnkm I hit .320 and have a ERA of 2.50 and with CHD's I hit .220 with a 3.00 ERA. HOF default is the best slider set available in my opinion.

So you're playing HOF just on Default?
No changes to wind, fielders speed or anything?

It's funny because I was tempted to make a post trying to see if someone, somehow fit into my category - which was playing CHD I'd hit around .220 and hit a HR a series, but then on TNK's I had a realistic average, but was hitting 3 HR's a game and averaging 7 runs a game.......reading your initial post, it seems like you may have had a similar experience.

HOF Default is probably one of the few things I haven't tried yet, so I think I'll have to give it a shot.

I tried this last night, and was liking it. I did change the Fielder Arm Str to 2, and Base Runner Spd to 3, and also lowered the CPU Strike Frequency to 2. Other than that, it looked good. Will try another game today, after work.

Guys, it continues to amaze me. After going 6-6 I am now 8-8. I shutout the Rockies in our first game of the series and then they responded by shutting me out! Then in the rubber match they won 8-6 after two shutouts. My bats have been silent of late until today when I put on a clinic against the struggling Padres and Mat Latos by pounding out 15 hits (season high) and 8 runs en route to a 8-5 win.

SD just shut me down through 8, managed to get 2 in the 9th but it wasn't enough. Dropped to 8-9 with the 4-2 loss.

I've played this way before too, definitely an enjoyable experience. Personally I prefer to at least change the global sliders (fielder speed, errors, stamina, etc...) but definitely very much playable with default offense and default pitching.

10-10 now. I had to send down Tyler Colvin because he was hitting under .200 and Fukudome is also struggling. I called up Campana because he is basically the only outfielder besides Montanez that's ready. Campana has started two games and pinch hit once and is hitting .556 with 2 sb's...5 hits...loving it so far, looking to get a bit more above .500 soon though if I want to make a push.

What is zone pitching? Is that classic?

I originally tested Default HOF when the game launched.

                        I'm curious...

Care to share some BB (hitting and pitching), average, HR, K and 2B numbers?

Maybe some hits to innings pitched as well?

                              Wow!

Other than K's and user 2B's, those numbers are incredible (both are still within range, by the way)!!!

This is all 5? Everything at 5???

I've gotta say, that patch must have addressed the BB issue, because averaging over 3 per; which you are, is something I certainly wasn't seeing when I was doing my testing at launch.

Keep the updates coming. People with slider-itis owe it to themselves to read through this thread.
