I was surprised you settled on 9....I've been at 8 and 4 for success rate and have been getting very accurate stats. Steals seem to come in bunches just like errors, I'll go a game or two with nothing and then have a game with four or five. Score of the game is a factor as I notice there isn't much stealing in a blowout (as it should be) and certainly some teams steal much more than others (Miami, Cincy, Boston)

Re: Stats-Based CPU Sliders [MLB 12 Version]
I think 8 is fine. I just increased it after seeing that my SB/CS numbers are pretty consistently a bit lower even at 7 - 8 range. I still wanted to get in another 75 game set after the patch (for Vita... which hasn't happened yet, so not sure if I'll have time depending on when the patch comes, if ever). It's likely that I'm going to go back to 8... partly because I'm wary of using some extreme setting and partly because 8 was fine... I was just going by numbers till things match.I was surprised you settled on 9....I've been at 8 and 4 for success rate and have been getting very accurate stats. If you get time, can you post your stats with the sliders?
Thanks, SteveComment

Re: Stats-Based CPU Sliders [MLB 12 Version]
I have posted everything, and if you don't see stats, then that means I haven't run games with it. I'm waiting for the (Vita) patch before running any other slider test games.Comment

I just recently got this game and i put in your sliders Yanks8 Angels 4 was a great game yanks took the lead on a swisher 3 runhr. CC Pitched until the start of the 7th and Wear pitched to 2 batters in the 7th. Another game Dodgers4 Mets 0 Kershaw CG 8 hit OER 3BB 7K he threw 130 pitches incredible . I think these are great good job Nomo . I look forward to any updates that you may make with these .Comment

Thanks for the kind words. They should all be simply forwarded to the devs. Sliders won't magically make your experience better; it's the game...I just recently got this game and i put in your sliders Yanks8 Angels 4 was a great game yanks took the lead on a swisher 3 runhr. I don't know about what Nomo exactly does, but he keeps saying that difficulty levels don't matter in CPU vs. CPU games. If in doubt put them all at All-star. Hope I'm not putting words in his mouth though.Comment

Re: Stats-Based CPU Sliders [MLB 12 Version]
I am using your sliders and playing as the yankees. I am currently 25-7 this year. I seem to win every game. Although it is fun to win all of the time, I find it not too realistic as in real life the yankees are not winning every night. Do you have any other suggestions? BTW I am playing on both PS3 and VitaComment

(Edit: actually they are winning like crazy... but have to see if this is due to luck or not....)
Before you doubt it's sliders (or some other settings) that are screwing the game balance somehow, I'd check if what you are seeing is due to pure luck or not. What are your runs scored and allowed for the Yanks? I'd compute the expected W-L record from that, and see if your Yanks are winning due to pure luck or if they are indeed scoring/allowing runs like crazy.Comment

Re: Stats-Based CPU Sliders [MLB 12 Version]
Interesting that the Yankees are performing so well for others. I have a cpu vs. cpu season going and they are 2-7(obviously a long way to go). The team batting average right now is around .200. Jeter batting .050.In my season the Yanks are winning but not so unrealistically:

I'm using OSFM v2.Comment

Re: Stats-Based CPU Sliders [MLB 12 Version]
At least in my season for which the Yanks are 17-6 (.739 W%) with 144 RS and 109 RA, they have been winning quite a few more games due to pure luck. The Pythagorean win-loss expectation from runs scored and allowed isIn my season the Yanks are winning but not so unrealistically:

144^1.83 / (144^1.83 + 109^1.83) = .625 W%
So they should be more like 14 - 9, which are much more reasonable.Comment

Re: Stats-Based CPU Sliders [MLB 12 Version]
If you let me know the runs scored and runs allowed for your Yankees, I can calculate the expected W-L record for you to compare with your season.Comment

Re: Stats-Based CPU Sliders [MLB 12 Version]
What does the ^ symbol mean? And how do I apply it? I want to figure out mine.
Say it's 198 R to 165 RA. How would this work on a calculator? (48 total games)Comment

Re: Stats-Based CPU Sliders [MLB 12 Version]
^ means "to the power of". So 2^3 = 2 x 2 x 2 = 8.
I haven't used a traditional calculator for years, so don't remember the exact sequence, but if you see x^y button or something, that's the one to use.
198^1.83 / (198^1.83 + 165^1.83) = 0.583.
So the expected winning percentage is 58.3%. 48 x 0.583 = 28, so the expected record would be 28 W - 20 L.Comment
