I guess it depends on the severity of the issue, but for minor offensive adjustment, I'd lower CPU Pitcher Control first. If that's too subtle for your taste, then I might lower CPU Pitcher Consistency as well. Both make the CPU pitchers a bit more wild, increasing the chance of meatball or obvious balls, which should improve your offense a bit.

Nomo, quick question if you don't mind.
What's your impression on the wind slider? Specifically, do you believe lowering it has any noteworthy impact on reducing HR's? Have you tested it at all this year???Comment

Re: Stats-Based CPU Sliders [MLB 12 Version]
I think it will have a significant effect on HR production, depending on how the wind tends to blow in your (home) ballpark. At default (5 out of 10), you'd see about 20 - 25% increase in HRs in games in which wind is blowing out, and the decrease of similar magnitude when wind is blowing in.
So if in your ballpark wind tends to blow out in general, it will show up in HR park factor, and you'll feel that's a HR-friendly park.
By turning the Wind slider down all the way to zero, you'll be eliminating this wind factor.Comment

Re: Stats-Based CPU Sliders [MLB 12 Version]
Hey Nomo. I am starting my 2012 MLB Cpu vs. Cpu and somewhat human play Franchise, so I may post stat updates as it goes along. My present question for you this: Do you feel that the CPU Pick-off Slider should be raised to 7 to prevent a super-abundance of Stolen Bases during Cpu vs Cpu games? Thanks for all your contributions, Nomo.

Re: Stats-Based CPU Sliders [MLB 12 Version]
I actually don't think there's an abundance of steals. If anything, there aren't enough, even when the Steal Frequency slider is set as high as 9 (which is what my latest set is at). Especially with steals, I'd be careful to conclude if the steal attempt is high or not... as being discussed earlier, we've seen conflicting results even after a few dozen games.Hey Nomo. Re: Stats-Based CPU Sliders [MLB 12 Version]
Hey Nomo. Have you noticed that in close games, like let's say a 2-1 game in the 6th Inning, if there is a runner on third base with 0 or 1 Out, the defense will play the Infield back instead of playing in or half-ways to cut off the chance of the tying run scoring. It annoys me to the point where I almost don't want to even play Cpu vs Cpu games because of this. Is there any way to remedy this? I presently have Defensive Positioning/Shift set to Auto. ThanksComment

I don't think you can have any influence on defensive positioning when CPU is managing...Hey Nomo. Re: Stats-Based CPU Sliders [MLB 12 Version]
I had my first no-hitter using these sliders in a cpu vs. cpu game.
I have pitcher control bumped up a bit to bring down batting averages, but the average right now in games played is .253.
Anyway, Matt Cain no-hit the Reds in Cincinnati. He threw 120 pitches, walked 1, and struck out 9. The Giants won the game 5-0.Comment

Bumping up Pitcher Control does help reduce offense indeed; it helps to generate more games in which pitchers are lights out...I had my first no-hitter using these sliders in a cpu vs. cpu game.

I think I've only seen one no-hitter and it was in MLB 11. Was Chad Billingsley of the Dodgers.Comment

Re: Stats-Based CPU Sliders [MLB 12 Version]
Just wanted to stop in a make a post in this thread to say thank you to Nomo for all the work you put into these sliders.
I "Manage" every one of my ML games and use these sliders. I'm into June and they feel almost perfect! Your efforts have made this game such a blast for me and I can't thank you enough.
My utmost appreciation and thanks.

It's the game... not sliders. Maybe one of those days you hang a slider and will have a different opinion about them. Well I guess not *that* slider, but I guess my point stands. It's the game and the devs are to thank for.Just wanted to stop in a make a post in this thread to say thank you to Nomo for all the work you put into these sliders.

Re: Stats-Based CPU Sliders [MLB 12 Version]
I have been reading through this Thread, and I just want to say that I am a girl who shares this account with my older male cousin, and I think you are a cutie Nomo, fat or not,
and I will pray that you find True Love outside of MLB The Show. My female friends laugh at me that I play a full game of the show when I can, maybe 3 or 4 times per week. I don't care, it's fun. Also, if I persevere until physical death and Jesus judges me worthy of Heaven, then we can play any iteration of the Show for ETERNITY!! That would be soooo Cool.
How far into your Cpu vs Cpu Season are you, Nomo? Any stats? Any outstanding and noteworthy things that have happened? Have Fun.

Great that a girl can enjoy this game. Next year, I hope more women complain about Buster Posey not looking as cute in the game as in real life in the OS forums.I have been reading through this Thread, and I just want to say that I am a girl who shares this account with my older male cousin, and I think you are a cutie Nomo, fat or not,

And of course I'm a cutie! Every man who grows up in New Jersey is. The only obstacle in my quest for that True Love has been that spending several years on that side of Hudson River I have developed a rather strong industrial smell on my body. That stench just never leaves my skin... I just need to find a compatible Jersey girl so that the odor together becomes so strong to the extent that we both lose our sense of smell.
Also, unfortunately I'd probably prefer to go to hell if given a choice. Past couple years I was working in Canada, as close a place to Heaven as we have here on Earth (*), but quite frankly I was bored out of my mind, as I learned nothing exciting ever happens in heaven. I'd like to enjoy watching America's Most Wanted every week, together with my True Love... the place needs to be pretty bad for that to happen. Oh how I wish John Walsh replaces Matt Vasgersian in MLB 13!!
(*) Canadian cities like Vancouver routinely top "Best Place to Live" rankings in magazines, etc.Comment

Re: Stats-Based CPU Sliders [MLB 12 Version]
I guess I have to apologize to Canadians about saying that the place not being exciting enough... I realized the nation has produced a few of the worst behaving criminals over the years... Karla Homolka, Luka Rocco Magnotta, to name a couple. The place can indeed be a bad enough place.
Now this post is totally off topic, but I guess I just wanted to post something from my new android phone...Comment

Re: Stats-Based CPU Sliders [MLB 12 Version]
Hey Nomo, as I stated a few posts up, I Manage every one of my team's games and I'm into June. I'm having some issues with CPU pickoffs, or a lack of them.
Through 30 plus games now I have yet to see the CPU attempt a single pickoff. I even up'd the Pickoff slider all the way to the right and still nada. Any suggestions?Comment
