    Re: **Perfect Sliders 2012** (HOF)

Okay, I started my season over again and played the first game of the Giant series with the D'backs. Once the osfm rosters drop and I start my seasons I am NOT starting over EVER!! Right now I am starting over just to test sliders in the same game situations

I fast forwarded when the Giants were batting as I am concentrating on cpu pitching sliders and my hitting.

I won 5-2. Lincecum only lasted 4 2/3 innings, giving up 7 hits and 3 walks and was at 110 pitches. Overall I had 8 hits (inc. 2 doubles and 2 homers), 3 BB, and an ugly 14 K's (I was really rushing to get through the game). I chased 24 pitches - 12 were fouled and 3 were k's - so I think there were a few more walks to be had. CPU's strike % was 64% (69% early in the count) and that was with me chasing those 24 pitches. With human foul frequency at default I hit 35 foul balls - is that too many? Had several 8,9 and 10 pitch ABs. My team BA was .258 against the 3rd ranked Giants pitching staff.

I don't know guys, playing on HOF and with my cpu pitching sliders at 5,4,4 I think I am getting the best results I can possibly get. I will try to play the 2nd and 3rd games of the series tomorrow (and try to be a lot more patient at the plate!!) and report my stats.

Darwin, you've posted enough stats in this thread and other threads to 100% convice me that the sliders you are using are perfect for you.

Don't change anything. And thanks for the feedback.

Yes, I am very satisfied with my slider set. I won'y go in to all the details but I played the second game of the Giants series and I won 1-0 with a walk-off base hit by Young. A couple of things:

        - I walked only twice, but struck out 4 times by swinging at bad pitches with the count full (chased 21 pitches)
        - cpu pitching % was 61
        - with 2 on and 1 out in the bottom of the 9th, Casilla made a HUGE mistake by throwing a fastball right down the middle that I smoked to the wall scoring the winning run - proving to me that with my current sliders the cpu does make pitching mistakes and does not always become almost unhittable with runners on base in crucial situations
        - no errors by either team for the second game in a row - might increase fielding errors to 7 and throwing errors to 6

I believe I am finally ready to go once the osfm rosters are out!!

Lost 7-2 in game 3 of the series, but did manage 7 walks. CPU strike % was 66%. I only managed 4 hits in this game after getting only 6 in game 2. Hopefully my offence picks up in San Diego.

Having great games with these so far although only played a handfull.

            One question I have.

Are you noticing the difference when playing a number 5 compared to an ace?

Deffiently, I can't do squat against Weaver. His location with all 5 pitches are spot on. Hes almost unfair.

Simple really, i find All-Star too easy to win on.

HOF is the perfect challenge for me, if im on it, pitch thoughtfully and hit patiently i can win (but not all the time), if i pitch poorly and swing at crap, i can lose (but not all the time).

Perfect balance for me and how it should be.

Absolutely, and even some with Contact swing.

I'll give your set another shot it just seemed that I couldn't hit the ball whatsoever but I have found a better hitting cam and am now more patient so I think things will be different. I may have to pitch on All Star being that I use classic pitching. Also I see that you have not made many adjustments lately so are you pretty settled on your current set?

What Cam are you using now? Maybe it will help me?

So I plan on giving these sliders a shot later tonight but I had a question. It seems as if a lot of people, including myself, seem to be having a difficult time hitting homers and even giving up homers. I have been playing so far on All Star default and I have gone 5 games w/o giving up or hitting a homer. Why is it that it seems like everyone on their sliders have Human Contact and Human Power and Human Solid hits all LOWERED off of the default? Most seem to be around 4 when default is 5. Shouldn't it be raised?

I have had this game for every year for the last 4 years and I'm playing on Zone hitting and never really had a problem w/ "realistic" homer run totals so it's been a bit frustrating. I have seen the hit variety on singles and doubles but I've barely been close to hitting a homer.

                              Thoughts?
