Re: TNK - 2013 REALISM SLIDERS

What a beautiful game to start my Red Sox franchise with! Also using TNKBOS roster as well.

*on my iPad and the generator doesn't work*

    Lester vs Sabathia

-Boston missed a golden opportunity in the first inning as Ellsbury singles to start the game. Ells steals second, then victorino pops out for the first out. Pedroia lined to center for a single and Ells moves to 3rd. Ortiz strikes out looking at a beautiful curveball from Sabathia for the 2nd out. Napoli grounds out to end the inning with no damage.

-Sox load the bases with only 1 out in the 4th but Sabathia manages to get out of the inning again with no marks on the scoreboard.

-5th inning victorino takes a high fastball deep to left for the first run of the day on a solo shot.

-6th inning the wheels begin to fall off for the Bronx bombers. Middlebrooks doubles to left to kick start the inning. Gomes lines to center for an RBI single (2-0). Sabathia gets the hook from Girardi as Phelps comes in to work. Salty doubles high off the left field wall which sadly only moves Gomes to 3rd. Stephen drew is next up to bat and he hits a sharp ground ball to right that gets thru for an RBI single (3-0) and moves salty to 3rd no outs still. Ellsbury strikes out on a 2-2 fastball high and away for the first out. Victorino steps in, phelps starting to lose confidence throws a slider in the dirt that gets passed the catcher and Salty scores (4-0). Victorino strikes out on a 3-2 fastball for the 2nd out. Pedroia is next up and finds a fastball that catches too much of the plate that he sends deep over the left field wall for an 2 run HR (6-0). Phelps is completely broken at this point as Ortiz steps in and on the 3rd pitch of the at bat he gets a hanging breaking ball that he crushed into the 2nd deck in right field (7-0) which also gets me the Bronx bomber trophy. Mike Napoli pops out to right to stop the bleeding for the Yankees.

-6 full innings would be enough for Lester in his first start of the season as he goes 6IP 7H 0R 0ER 0BB 4K

-Aceves comes into get some work in the 7th as gets the Yankees quickly 1-2-3

-Tazawa starts the 8th, gives up a single to Jeter and then a HR to Cano (7-2) which gets him pulled and Bard comes into finish. Granderon doubles, texeria flies out but advances Grandy to 3rd. Youkilis ground out but gets the RBI as granderson comes into score (7-3)

-Bard continued to pitch well as he gives up nothing in the 9th as the Sox day the season opener 7-3.

    Red Sox
    15 hits
    4 2B
    3 HR
    1BB
    2 ERR

    Yankees
    10 hits
    2 2B
    1 HR
    0BB
    0 ERR

Thoughts: overall great feeling game. The errors came on the same play, both were over thrown balls which didn't end up hurting me at all. A lot of hits but nothing felt unrealistic to me. Homeruns came on mistake pitches that caught too much of the plate. And the 6th inning rally felt amazing.

      1. Pitch speed...do these work with any pitch speed? I am trying to find one that works for me...8 is tough, 5 I am hitting to many homeruns. Do I just stick with 8 and practice practice practice?
      2. Do you get a glitch every so often just before the pitcher releases the ball.
      3. Pitch count, what are you seeing most of your starters throw a game?
      4. Base running hesitation? Is this a bug or how can we get it smoother. I get a line drive two outs, my guy is on second looking to send him (he has speed) and there is a small delay that throws you off.

If you already answered these, sorry, alot of pages to read through. thanks
i get the glitch when the pitcher releases the ball ,usually when the pitch its a strike

Won my 1st ever MLB The Show game last night using these sliders(pitch speed lowered).does it still count if its against the Astro's.

Played about 20 games without winning in a test franchise before starting a new one with these sliders. Lost the first 2 to the astros(me rangers).

        Top 1st , 1 out , bourn(Free agent) on 2nd, beltrie 1st , cruz hit a HR LF for a 3 run early lead.

bottom 1st. altuve HR with runner on 1st. 3-2 end 1st.

top 6th, andrus hits to 1st. steals to 2nd, cruz flies out RF andrus 3rd, berkam doubles andrus home for 4-2 lead. berkman didn't get a rbi for this hit as there was a fielder error when he went to pick up the ball(had no effect on the play)

bottom 9th, 1 out, runner on ist , altuve ATP, altuve GIDP. Game over.

        Rangers 4 runs 11 hits 1 error
        Astros 2 runs 7 hits 1 error

Rangers win 4-2 (sorry about my game annalyse/player names, bit rushed)

          Drop your control another notch

RUN, don't walk, to the "Classic" pitching mode.

Set your pitching control to 4 and consistency to 4 (drop both to 3 if need be) and play at least 3 games. You will be hooked.

Yeah I thought about doing this but am trying to avoid it as much as possible. I feel a little disconnected from pitching if all I have to do is aim the pitch and let the game do the rest. I like having at least a little human error involved. But if that's what it's going to come down to, I won't mind doing it for the sake of realism.

I'd have to say this was the SINGLE BEST game I have played in The Show 13 (using post update sliders + meter pitching + the recommended camera). I was using G'mo's cam but I got tired of not being able to see my hitters stances .

The game itself was a pitchers dual the entire game. Was just a couple of key moments in the game that led to the loss (an insane but well executed hit and run with damn Ryan Howard on base which led to what amounted to the deciding run). That combined with my lack of ability to stay back on Kendricks zzzzz slow pitching lol. And Dominic Brown is STILL my kryptonite dating back from last year. I can never get this guy out lol. I can get past rollins, utley and howard most of the time but brown always makes me pay.

Re: TNK - 2013 REALISM SLIDERS

TNK, I tested a little, but sample size (18 games, 26 HR's for 1.44 HR's a game) is too small as of right now, but with the sliders looks to be good.

Currently at home hitting around 2.5 HR's a game (3,2,3,0,4,3). Only plays as Reds in six games.

Currently on the road I am around 0.92 HR's a game.

Although I am 0.38 a game in eight games against top 5 teams that were the toughest stadiums to give up a homerun last year (0,0,0,1,1,0,1,0). Two games were at San Fran and didn't hit a homerun. The other four games I was 2.0 (1,3,2,2) against the top 5 easiest ballparks (3 was at Coor's, in which they had 4 against me).

I think only 2 were on first pitch strikes. If not there was 3, but I know for a fact that Votto and Bruce both had one. Votto was high inside and Bruce was a shade inside but still belt high. Only the high inside first pitch by Votto was a power swing. Only had two contact homerun's (one actually by Cozart which was weird), and the rest were just normal swings.

Again sample size is too small, but for the full season I would be hitting 233.28 HR's for a team. Last year they had 172. Again this is against #1 starter each game, and not playing any AL teams. While it might seem high you have to take in effect fatigue, also giving some players days off, injuries, and if I can actually keep pace, so it does look like it should be on at least for when I am hitting. So looks like you are onto something with the new contact and power.

So do you want to have variety or do exactly what the Reds did last year? Rosters turnover and different players change lineups every year......I would honestly play more games and tweak the sliders if necessary.

People need to remember - everyone plays differently with a different skill set......the sliders can be tweaked to your own individual situation. The base set will not be perfect for every single player.

Just don't make whole scale changes and don't report the sliders with a couple tweaks and claim them as your own

Another great game. Hits may seem a tad inflated and raise some peoples eyebrows, but I'm being very patient at the plate and its been paying off. I had two home runs in this game which accounted for 3 runs. It really feels good to get rallies going.

                        TNK

I am having troubles with pitch speed at 8, my hits are way low....when I dropped down to 5 I was smashing it, but was very early. I was going to change to 6 or 7....my question is how much of a difference would you say is between 6, 7 and 8? It could just be me needing more practice also. thanks.

I say stick with 8 and work on improving

Don't use dropping down as a crutch

The difference between 6, 7 and 8 is one click each......lol.....serisouly - 7 is a tad slower than 8....not sure what else I can add to the decription...it's pretty self explanatory

Played another game using the latest set last night.

Pitched a complete game shut out with Ryan Dempster against the White Sox. They were only able to get 8 singles ( 2 in the 1st, 5th, 8th & 9th) with zero walks. Noticed they were swinging at a lot of pitches out of the strike zone. Some were misses, some were fouls and some were weak hits.
