Start out with these, play spring training games until you get your feet wet. Im 50 games or so into my franchise with the Cubs. Im 18-25. Im losing and I am fully on board and loving this game and sliders. Caveat, im using classic hitting and pitching, im a proponent of letting ratings play a bigger part.

These sliders are worth their weight in gold.

Lester dominated in this game. Only gave up one run, (Homerun to Votto), and 4 singles. Struck out 6 and walked none. At one point I was able to retire 12 batters in a row. Think pitching might be a little to easy. As far as hitting, I'm able to string a few together here and there, but not a lot of power. Managed 3 doubles but the rest of my hits were singles.

          Game 3

          Matchup
          Buchholz vs Pettitte

Both pitchers start off shaky as the game is 3-3 through the first 3 innings. However both pitchers would settle in and not give up a run until they were hooked.

Aardmas comes into pitch for the Yankees, as they start the 8th Stephen Drew lines to left for a single. Ells flies out after him. Victorino walks, Yankees sensing the game could get outta hand pull Aardsma and bring in Robertson. He walks Pedroia to load the bases with Big Papi coming to the plate. The second pitch he sees is a belt high fast ball in the he sends off the right field wall for a double scoring 3 runs as the Red Sox take a 6-3 lead!

Breslow comes into work the 8th and sits the first two batters easily then A Rod hits a deep home run to left field to make it a 6-4 game.

Hanrahan comes in to shut down the Yanks in the 9th to seal the victory as the Red Sox sweep the Yankees on the season opener! Great game! Loving these sliders!

          Boston
          6 Runs
          9 hits
          0 errors
          1 2B
          2 HR
          2 GIDP
          3 BB

          Yankees
          4 runs
          11 hits
          0 errors
          2 2B
          1 HR

Pettitte did throw 77% first strikes but I was swing happy after jumping out to a 2-0 lead in the first.

            TNK

I prefer using pulse pitching and timing for hitting.. I was wondering if you think that would still work using your sliders? I usually just play on default AS but after reading your thread and hearing all the rave reviews on how its making the game funner, I feel like I'm missing out lol... I've tried classic pitching and meter pitching but I just prefer using the pulse.. As far hitting, I'm old and my reflexes aren't that fast anymore so I rather just push a button and hope I can time it right.. Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated...

                  TNK - EXHIBITION GAME

BOSTON RED SOX @ OAKLAND A's

Pitching Matchup - Jon Lester vs. Jarrod Parker

                  * The game was scoreless after 2 innings. Boston threatened in the top of the 3rd as Jacoby Ellsbury just missed a HR as he hit the top of the wall in CF and settled for a double. Ellsbury was stranded at 2nd base when Parker got Victorino to ground out to end the inning.

                  * The A's bats exploded in the bottom of the 3rd inning as they knocked Jon Lester all over the ballpark. Oakland got a lead off double from Josh Donaldson and he came in to score on an RBI double by Coco Crisp with two outs. Jed Lowrie followed with an RBI double down the LF line to score Crisp and make it 2-0. Josh Reddick smoked a ball into the gap for another RBI double to make it 3-0. Yoenes Cespedes drew a walk to bring up Brandon Moss who would fly out to finally end the inning as the A's rough up Lester for 3 runs on 4 doubles in the inning and lead 3-0 after 3 innings of play.

                  * Lester rebounded nicely in the bottom of the 4th with a 1-2-3 inning by striking out Chris Young & Josh Donaldson to begin frame and then Lester got Derek Norris to ground out weakly to Middlebrooks to end the inning.

                  * Will Middlebrooks made a bid to get Boston on the board leading off the top of the 5th as he drove a long fly ball to CF but Crisp was able to run it down and make the catch on the warning track before crashing into the wall. Jarrod Saltalamacchia doubled with two outs but he would be stranded as Stephen Drew was all over a fastball from Parker and ripped a liner to CF but Crisp made a good running catch before the ball could drop in and the score would remain 3-0.

                  * Coco Crisp made it 4-0 with 1 out in the bottom of the 5th when he launched a solo HR to LF that was just out of the reach of Jonny Gomes who made a leaping attempt at the wall.

                  * The Red Sox wasted a leadoff single by Ellsbury in the top of the 6th as he was stranded on 2nd base when Ortiz grounded out to end the inning as Parker has thrown 6 shutout innings.

                  * Lester should have been out of the bottom of the 6th but his defense let him down as Stephen Drew booted a groundball by Donaldson with two outs to keep the inning alive and setup runners at the corners. Derek Norris was up next and he chopped a ball up the middle that Pedroia fielded but bobbled the ball as he went to throw and Norris was safe at 1st allowing Chris Young to score and make it a 5-0 game.

                  * Parker struck out Drew to end the top of the 7th as Boston stranded two more runners on the basepaths. The Red Sox just can't get the big hit tonight against Parker as he has thrown 7 shutout innings. Andrew Miller relieved Lester and pitched a 1-2-3 bottom of the 7th to send the game to the 8th with Oakland leading 5-0.

                  * Yoenes Cespedes drew his 2nd walk of the game in the bottom of the 8th but Miller would get Brandon Moss to hit into a 4-6-3 double play and we would head to the 9th inning with the Red Sox trailing 5-0.

                  * Jarrod Parker would remain on the mound to begin the top of the 9th looking for the complete game shutout despite already throwing 110 pitches through 8 innings. David Ortiz singled to lead off the inning for Boston. Mike Napoli flew out to the warning track in CF for the 1st out. Middlebrooks popped out and Jonny Gomes flew out to CF for the final out as the A's win 5-0 behind a masterful performance by Jarrod Parker as he goes the distance for a complete game shutout

                  * This was a fun game with a little bit of everything going on - walks, extra base hits, HRs, errors, nice plays in the field. I just couldn't string hits together and choked a few opportunities away by swinging at bad pitches.

                    TNK - EXHIBITION GAME

ST. LOUIS CARDINALS @ BOSTON RED SOX

Pitching Matchup - Lance Lynn vs. Clay Buchholz

                    * Allen Craig hammered a ball high off the green monster in left center for a triple with 1 out in the top of the 1st but Buchholz would get out of the jam with a huge strikeout of Matt Holliday and Carlos Beltran grounded out to end the inning.

                    * The Red Sox got a leadoff single from David Ortiz to begin the bottom of the 2nd. Lynn walked Napoli on 5 pitches to give Boston 2 men on base with nobody out for Middlebrooks but Lynn would get him to hit into a 4-6-3 double play as Ortiz moved up to 3rd base with two outs. Jonny Gomes was up next and he smoked a ball off the wall in straight away CF for an RBI double to make it 1-0. Jarrod Saltalamacchia followed with a bloop RBI single into CF that fell just out of the reach of a diving Jon Jay to score Gomes and make it a 2-0 game. Stephen Drew walked with 2 outs and Jacoby Ellsbury singled up the middle but Saltalamacchia was thrown out at the plate to end the inning.

                    * Lynn issued his 3rd walk of the game as Ortiz laid off some tough pitches with 2 outs in the bottom of the 3rd but Lynn would come back to strikeout Napoli to end the 3rd inning and we would move to the 4th inning with the Red Sox up 2-0.

                    * Boston got back to back singles from Saltalamacchia and Drew with two outs in the bottom of the 4th but Lynn kept battling and got a big K to end the inning as Ellsbury chased a pitch in the dirt as the Sox strand 2 more runners.

                    * Clay Buchholz was cruising with 2 outs in the top of the 5th and had 2 strikes on Matt Carpenter but he left a changeup out over the plate that Carpenter wrapped around the Pesky Pole in RF for a solo HR to cut the Sox lead to 2-1. Jon Jay reached on a throwing error by Middlebrooks to keep the inning alive. Daniel Descalso followed with a single to RF and suddenly the Cardinals were threatening with runners on the corners and 2 outs. Rafael Furcal laced a fly ball down the LF line that looked like trouble but Gomes made a running catch in the corner to end the inning as Buchholz wiggles out of danger to maintain the lead at 2-1.

                    * The Cardinals were threatening again in the top of the 6th as Carlos Beltran drew a two out walk and Yadier Molina singled to setup runners on 1st & 2nd for David Freese. Buchholz settled down after a mound visit from the pitching coach and got a big strikeout of David Freese to pitch out of the jam as The Cardinals strand 2 men on base and trail 2-1.

                    * Jonny Gomes crushed a ball down the LF line in the bottom of the 6th that would have been a moonshot HR but the ball was just foul and Lynn would eventually get Gomes to fly out to end the inning as the game would move to the 7th inning with Boston leading by a score of 2-1.

                    * Buchholz finished his night by pitching a 1-2-3 top of the 7th and picked up his 8th K in the process as he was over 100 pitches thrown and gave his team a quality start and held a potent Cardinals lineup to 1 run over 7 innings of work on the mound.

                    * Randy Choate replaced Lynn on the mound for St. Louis for the bottom of the 7th and gave up a 1 out single to Drew before getting Ellsbury to bounce into a 4-6-3 inning ending double play to send the game to the 8th inning with Boston holding a 2-1 lead.

                    * Koji Uehara came on to replace Buchholz on the mound for the Red Sox to begin the top of the 8th and Rafael Furcal greeted him with a lead off triple into the triangle in CF, giving the Cardinals a golden opportunity with the tying run on 3rd base and their big bats coming up. Uehara got a gift as he jammed Allen Craig with an inside fastball and got him to pop up to the catcher Saltalamacchia in foul ground for the 1st out. Matt Holliday was up next and Uehara threw 4 straight splitters low and away before coming back inside with a nasty two seam fastball to strike out Holliday for the 2nd out and bring up Carlos Beltran. The Fenway crowd came to life as Uehara was one out away from pitching out of a major jam. Beltran swung at a 1st pitch fastball from Uehara and drove it opposite way off the green monster to score Furcal with the tying run to make it a 2-2 game, but the ball was hit hard and Gomes made a perfect throw to nail Beltran at 2nd base trying for a double and record the final out of the inning.

                    * Choate remained in the game for St. Louis to begin the bottom of the 8th and Shane Victorino singled to lead off the inning. Victorino got a little greedy with his lead at 1st base and Choate nailed him with a quick pickoff move for a huge out. Dustin Pedroia made a bid for a go ahead HR but the ball was caught just in front of the bullpens in RF by Beltran for a loud 2nd out. David Ortiz singled with 2 outs and was lifted for Pedro Ciriaco who came on to pinch run as the potential go ahead run. Choate was paying close attention to Ciriaco at 1st base trying to prevent the stolen base as he threw over to the bag twice before delivering a pitch to Napoli and it may have had him a little rattled as he grooved a 1st pitch fastball right down the middle and Napoli was ready for it as he absolutely unloaded and crushed a 2-run HR that easily cleared the seats & signs above the green monster to send Fenway Park into a frenzy as the Red Sox grabbed a 4-2 lead.

                    * Red Sox closer Joel Hanrahan was summoned to try and close it out with a 4-2 lead. Molina grounded out to Drew at SS for the 1st out and Freese popped out to Pedroia in shallow CF as the Cardinals were down to their final out. Hanrahan fed Matt Carpenter 3 straight sliders before freezing him with a 98 mph fastball on the outside corner to end it and record the save as the Red Sox win a thriller 4-2.

NOTE - This was by far the most intense and enjoyable game I have played so far this year. I honestly stood up off the couch when Napoli connected on his HR in the bottom of the 8th - it was a BOMB!!!

NOTE - The variety I am getting right now from game to game is outstanding. I will be uploading these sliders to the vault in a few minutes

So do you want to have variety or do exactly what the Reds did last year? Rosters turnover and different players change lineups every year......I would honestly play more games and tweak the sliders if necessary.

People need to remember - everyone plays differently with a different skill set......the sliders can be tweaked to your own individual situation. The base set will not be perfect for every single player.

Just don't make whole scale changes and don't report the sliders with a couple tweaks and claim them as your own
I wouldn't post sliders and claim them. Was just saying that I like the changes you did to the contact and power. Was just showing you my sample size for homeruns since people where talking about it so I was trying to give you my info as well. I know you do a ton of testing was just trying to help and show everyone else that basically it looks to be spot on.

Actually the Red's lineup is very similiar to last year, except for gaining a CF, having Frazier as a everyday starter, and Votto back and healthy. Phillips is getting a little older so I assume his production is going down, and yes I was looking at those stats to have a baseline. Actually looked for the past 5 years, but didn't want to make a longer post.

Also I know when I was posting games I was hitting a lot of homeruns people were questioning it so that is why I was showing the percentages of the friendly hitting parks (Cincinnati is top 5 in the league) to not so friendly parks.

VERSION 1.0 SLIDERS HAVE BEEN UPLOADED TO THE VAULT UNDER THE NAME:
                            "TNK SLIDERS V1.0"

NOTE - Don't forget to download & vote/rate the sliders in the vault so we can get them up near the top to make them easy to find for everyone

Now we just need the OSFM Rosters and it's time to get the franchise rolling
Were there any new changes to the update from a few days ago or are those what you are going with still?

Just want to say great sliders TNK!
Played a fantastic game I was using the Mariners against Indians.
Trailing 3-0 bottom of 8th. Finally was able to get it going against Jiminez, he was dominating through 7 innings. Was able to tie it 3-3 going into the 9th... After a few tense moments, bottom of the 11th. Smoak smoked a 2 run walk off HR to centre of Cody Allen.
                              Final score 5-3!!!

The posting sliders comment wasn't directed specifically at you......it was more of a general statement.

I've seen before where someone was using my sliders & posting in the thread and made a few tweaks to them.....suddenly the guy has a slider thread saying they were his set.

                                No worries!!!!

I'm sure these sliders will ah ve to be adjusted once the game is patched.....they key right now is making sure the game FEELS RIGHT, the stats aren't too far out of whack and we are getting good variety. No slider set will ever be perfect for everyone......there's too many different players with different skill levels and sometimes you just get hot or cold which skews the numbers.
