I'm also getting the same thing in my Braves franchise lol. I think my issue is I played sooooo much MLB the show this year before the OSFM rosters came out that I've gotten a lot better at hitting. I'm like 8 games in and got I think 6 HRs with Heyward, 3 with Justin Upton, 2 with Uggla, 2 with B.J. Upton, 2 with Freeman, and 1 with Gattis. Also got a load of doubles (mostly with Freeman who's at I think 7 or 8 right now lol. bout every other hit with him is a double or HR).

To further test the notion that I'd gotten much better due to excessive gameplay in the past couple weeks I went and played a handful of games with some lesser teams such as Twins for 4 games. Same thing was happening, got like 4 HRs in the first game off Verlander and 2-3 in each the next few games. Also threw a 1 and 2 hitter in those 4 games with Worley vs the Tigers lol.

And this is all on default settings/zone hitting/meter pitching.

I seem to recall that if you hack a lot at paint, the computer will continue to use that strategy against you until you stop swinging away.

Start taking some of those paint pitches for strikes. It's hard to not swing when you know if will be a strike, but if you start taking pitches, some of those will be balls and the computer will have to readjust.

I typically focus on a one section of the strike zone, and when I see the pitch not heading into my smaller zone, I lay off. eventually you will get one in your zone and when you do your timing will be better as well because you anticipated where it would go.

Either way, patience pays off. Just gotta take some strikes sometimes.

It really does. You'll still have the at bats where the CPU throws you 3 strikes on the black, but overall you'll be getting deeper into counts and tiring out the pitcher more which will lead to more missed spots.

YOU NEED TO GET BETTER AT HITTING - it's not the sliders.......you need to be able to lay off junk and pitches on the corners while capitalizing on the pitches over the plate.

          MAKE THE CPU PITCHER WORK
          TAKE PITCHES!!!!
          DON'T SWING AT BAD PITCHES

How many walks are you drawing?

Yo can edit the sliders and tweak them to suit your game if necessary - but I really think you need to get better and smarter at the plate

so I just finished my series with the Yankees and continued to rake. Finished the series with 13 homeruns, most in the league by four.

I am wondering if having contact at 6 is causing this issue (power at 4). I am feeling like its either all or nothing for the most part. Maybe upping contact to 7 will open the timing window up and allow for more variety of hit types and scoring though rally's instead of just the long ball? I would guess that about 90% of the 19 runs I laid on the yankees came from the long ball.

            thoughts?

Are you using the sliders and difficulty exactly as I have it in post #1 of the thread?

Re: TNK - 2013 REALISM SLIDERS

Just wanna let you guys know that I'm finishing up editing equipment and stuff from the OSFM roster and I'll be starting my franchise hopefully tomorrow night.

I'll be doing 30 team control and skipping Spring Training......I'll be moving all players I want in the minors down for all teams right before the end of spring training so the CPU doesn't make any roster moves or change any lineups, etc. on their own.

Here is a run down from Knight on how to do the 30 team control and get the rosters to stick the way you want them coming out of Spring Training

                Best way...30 team control
                2 profiles
1 for you (your personal settings)
1 with everything AUTO except for lineups/rotations
When you come to the last day of ST...make sure that you have everyone you don't want in a lineup sent to the minors
When you hit day 1 of the regular season....set the lineups and put everything for the CPU controlled teams(the second profile with AUTO) back to AUTO(lineups/rotations)...

From there...there will be changes...but only as the season progresses.

Hey TNK, first off great job as usual man.

Was wondering if you're planning a major update to the sliders or are the ones posted on page 1 probably going to be the gist of it? I ask because I'd like to start a chise with whatever set you feel is best.

                    Thanks.

Well then enjoy the rosters, rotations and lineups getting thrown into complete flux for every team on Day 1 of your season.

Enjoy cleanup hitters leading off and guys on MLB rosters randomly ending up in the minors.

I'd much rather spend an hour or so before my season doing this stuff so that the rosters are not scrambled and stupid.........the other option is to have all the rotations, rosters and lineups screwed up for every team.

If anything - there will be a couple subtle tweaks......but these are good for now and there is no need to make major adjustments

If they are working for you - GO FOR IT

I've been playing the show since '09. I'm well accustomed to taking pitches and working the count. I don't swing at the stuff I know I cant hit. I've been averaging a couple three walks a game. MY strikeouts are right around 6-8 a game also. Those are pretty average if you ask me. I'm just not seeing the hr's or doubles. singles singles singles. oh and I do not use power swing ever and if there's 2 strikes im all contact.

I played my first game with these using the OSFM rosters. I drew two walks, gave up none. I struck out 6 times, the CPU struck out 8 times. I hit 1 HR, the CPU hit 2 HR.

I like these, going to keep playing with them to see if I need to tweak anything.

I use timing hitting and meter pitching.

                                TNK...

Following the thread, I realize you don't use the "power" or "contact" swings much (if at all) & that these sliders aren't meant to be used with the "normal" swing only...

BUT... IF I wanted to use these additional swings, what slider adjustments (if any) would you suggest? Maybe reduce contact (-1) click?

Playing with KC & using the "normal" swing exclusively, I like the feel of HR's with Butler & the Hosmer types... I'm just not so sure the lighter hitting guys will reach the fences? During testing, I made the mistake of pressing the "power" swing with Giovatella on a 3-0 meatball & he hit a majestic HR into the 2nd deck... I soooooo wish I had pressed the "normal" swing on that one to see how it played out!!! Not so sure he would have even reached the fences had I not used the "power" button, however?

                                Thanks for your contributions here...
