Re: TNK - 2013 REALISM SLIDERS

Just played my first game with these sliders. CLE at BOS(Me). I pitched Buchholz, who was a little wild the first couple innings but then settled down. I ended up losing 4-2 with CLE hitting a solo shot in the top of the ninth to seal it.
The sliders are amazing. Had such a fun game (even though I lost). Just wanted to say great job and thank you for putting in all the time.

TNK and everyone else. If you want to follow my dynasty thread. I am using these sliders so you can see what my box scores look like. I am currently doing a spring training camp with the Cincinnati Reds. These are the best sliders hands down and really make the game enjoyable for me. Thanks TNK!

Re: TNK - 2013 REALISM SLIDERS

TNK, thanks for your hard work. I know these aren't intended for MOM but I've been using them for the past couple of weeks and they seem to be working well. So it looks like your sliders are good enough to play in any mode. Kudos to you sir! I've been looking for MOM sliders but nobody seems to have come up with any so yours are as good as any.

Re: TNK - 2013 REALISM SLIDERS

          TNK - EXHIBITION GAME

BOSTON RED SOX @ Kansas City Royals

Pitching Matchup - John Lackey vs. James Shields

          * James Shields struggled in the top of the 1st inning as Ellsbury singled to lead off the game and Victorino walked on 4 pitches. Dustin Pedroia smoked a line drive right to Getz at 2nd base and he doubled Victorino off at 1st for 2 big outs. David Ortiz delivered an RBI single to score Ellsbury and give Boston a 1-0 lead. Mike Napoli followed with a single up the middle for Boston's 3rd hit of the inning. Will Middlebrooks was up next and he lined an RBI double into the gap in left to score Ortiz and make it 2-0. Jonny Gomes came up with 2 men in scoring position but Alcides Escobar made a nice play on agrounder up the middle to record the final out. Shields was lucky to get out of the inning with only 2 runs allowed.

          * John Lackey looked sharp early as he kept the Royals bats quiet through the 1st two innings.

          * The Red Sox extended their lead in the top of the 3rd when David Ortiz hammered an RBI double off the wall to drive in Victorino and make it 3-0 with one out. Shields got huge back to back K's of Middlebrooks and Gomes to escape the inning

          * Saltalamacchia and Drew hit back to back singled to begin the top of the 4th and they moved into scoring position on a sac bunt by Ellsbury. Shane Victorino brought home Saltalamacchia with a sac fly to CF to make it 4-0 and Pedroia would ground out to end the inning.

          * The Royals are hitting Lackey pretty hard but the balls they have been right on have been hit right at Boston defenders and lackey got some help on a nice diving stop by Pedroia and a couple running catches by Victorino and Ellsbury in the OF. Boston had a 4-0 lead at the end of 4 innings.

          * Boston knocked Shields out of the game with two outs in the top of the 5th when Gomes smoked an RBI double to make it 5-0. Shields was replaced by Luke Hochevar on the mound who got out of the inning.

          * Francoeur singled to leadoff the bottom of the 5th and Lorenzo Cain drew a 9 pitch walk in a great at bat to give the Royals two men on with nobody out. Chris Getz singled to LF to load the bases with no outs for the top of the order. Lackey bounced back with a huge K of Alex Gordon as he froze him with a back door slider for the 1st out. Lackey lost control of a slider to Escobar and beaned him right in the back to bring in a run and make it 5-1. The bases were still loaded with one out for Eric Hosmer and he struck out as he chased a slider in the dirt for the 2nd out. Billy Butler came up with two outs and Lackey picked up his 3rd K of the inning to get out of the bases loaded jam and keep the score 5-1. Lackey now has 7 K's in the game.

          * The Red Sox loaded the bases with nobody out in the top of the 6th as Drew & Ellsbury reached and Victorino drew a walk. Dustin Pedroia punched a RBI single to RF to make it 6-1 and bring up Ortiz with the bases still loaded. Hochevar struck out Ortiz for the 1st out but a bloop single by Napoli made it 7-1. Middlebrooks popped out for the 2nd out and that would bring up Gomes with the bases loaded and two outs. Gomes put a charge into the ball but Cain made a great running catch and crashed into the wall in CF to end the inning.

          * The Royals got a single and a walk to begin the bottom of the 6th as Lackey was flirting with danger but he rebounded to pickup his 8th K of the game as he froze Francoeur with a changeup for the 1st out. Lorenzo Cain popped out for the 2nd out but Getz reached on an error by Napoli at 1st base to load the bases with 2 outs. Lackey picked up his 9th K as he got Gordon swinging to get out of danger and end the inning as the Royals have left the bases loaded two innings in a row.

          * Kansas City loaded the bases again in the bottom of the 7th off Junichi Tazawa and Francoeur singled to score Butler and make it 7-2. Lorenzo Cain popped out to Middlebrooks to end the inning as KC leaves the bases laoded again.

          * Tim Collins and Tazawa each pitched 1-2-3 innings in the 8th as the game would go to the 9th with Boston leading 7-2

          * The Royals strung together some hits off Andrew Bailey in the bottom of the 9th and Moustakas got a one out RBI single to make it 7-3. Bailey would bear down as things got a little tense and got Francoeur to hit into a game ending 5-4-3 double play.

          * This was one of the most fun games I have played this year. Lots of runs scored without any homeruns being hit in the game. This was my highest hit total so far. I showed good patience at the plate and drew walks while issuing walks on the mound as well. The sliders are playing perfect right now - no need to make any changes!!

NOTE - I'm going to stop doing these long write ups with each game and just post boxscores with some short game notes. These write ups are time consuming as I have to constantly pause the game and I don't want to spend a lot of time doing that once I start my franchise so I can focus on banging out games.

*I will post all boxscores from my franchise in this thread with periodic updates that will include standings, stats, league leaders, etc.

ok so just tried these and it got killed 5-0, but the gameplay seemed good for my first time playing a baseball game in years, but i couldn't hit the ball worth at all and KO a lot, what is a good pitch speed to start it for me since i haven't played this game at all lol, and is it better to use the buttons for batting or the analog stick

You can't possibly expect to play a game for the 1st time in 5 + years and be good right away......this is the best baseball game period!!! You need to do some serious practicing before you will not get killed

              Just keep playing!!!!!

leave the sliders where they are - you will get better with time

Yep, i had never played a baseball game before and know very little about the sport in general.Started a franchise on allstar mostly default sliders and lost 20 straight games with the rangers.

Saw these sliders and started a new franchise lost the 1st 2 games then beat the astros and angels(30th and 1st ranked teams in my franchise) and have lost the last 2 to the angels badly. In my other franchise just about all my runs came from homers, now i feel its a lot more balanced and i am getting guys on base which helps with me learning the baserunning controls(still screwing up badly in this area).

I use timing and classic with most of the settings how i want and have only changed pitch speed to 4 but will move it up if gets a bit easy.

it's not about being good at a game that i'm worried about, he just struck out every batter except 3 and had a no hitter i barely fouled the ball half the time

Re: TNK - 2013 REALISM SLIDERS

I'm using these sliders and I'm quite happy with them. Only difference is that I set pitch speed to 5. So if you happen to struggle with the game, pitch recognition etc you might try lowering pitch speed. Although it severly effects timing.

This being my first baseball game, I thought I recently started to hit a little too good (thought about upping pitch speed), but all of a sudden, Felix Hernandez pitched 7 perfect innings (At the start of 8th inning; first he gave a walk and later a single and as a result, he got subbed). This was my first runless game (and hitless through 7 innings). I was in awe and pleased with the variety of results.

As for pitching; at first I was struggling with it, could not keep the ball in park at all. But, recently I started to pitch better. My best performance so far was a 2r/6 hit game with no homer (power at 4 might helped too). I gained a great deal of experience, have better pitching patterns now and I'm happy to see that its paying off.

All in all; this slider set offers a much, much better experience compared to default sliders. Better Hit/Homer ratio and enough walks if you're patient at the plate.

My biggest issue is pitch recognition. I can't pick up the low ball pitches, I swing at high pitches and I don't know why lol. What are you guys doing to combat the low pitch and pitch recognition. I'm using a custom cam fot hitting off the catcher cam that's lower to ground. I swear I hate that opened up the timing window , it has completely thrown me off on this game and then combine it with the pitch stutter.................fail so far lol I can't wait until the patch drops.

Figured I would play a game with "possible" opening day rosters between the Red Sox and Yankees. It was a pretty good game. Old friend Kevin Youkilis drove in both Yankee runs. Also had good hit variety.
I'm noticing that my starters almost always make it to the late innings. Hardly ever have to use my bullpen, except for maybe the last 1 or 2 innings.

Just downloaded these. Does it matter if I use zone plus analog hitting?

so starting to get the hang of these a little bit very slowly is it better to use power swing all the time or contact swing?

I use NORMAL swing 99.9% of the time.....I never bother with the power or contact swing

Normal Swing is the X button

Power swing is the square (Never use it)

Contact swing is the O (Only use once in a great while if I'm trying to make sure I put the bat on the ball)

You really should use the X normal swing almost every swing

These sliders are great. Good hit variety. This was my first game. Hit two 2-run HR's with Howard.
