    Loving these sliders!

    Just played an epic game against Oakland in game 4 of my season. I was using the mariners and it was tied 2-2 at the end of the 9th. Heading into the 11th.. Saunders singled up the middle, followed by single to left by Gutierrez. Then I pinch hit ibanez for Bay, so I had right vs lefty matchup, as Doolittle is left handed. Bay hits the go ahead run, a single to left to make it 3-2 as Saunders beats Youngs throw to the plate from LF.

    Heading into the bottom of the 11th, Wilhelmsen looking to close out the middle of the lineup..
    Lowrie singled to left (he's been killing me this series), then struck out Reddick. Cespedes comes up and absolutely crushes the ball to Seager @ 3rd base, going for the DP! No! He throws it over 2nd basemens head, to RF and Cespedes reaches 1st, lowrie then advanced to 3rd. Cespedes then steals 2nd, and Wilhelmsen is in a jam, 1 out 2 on. Down 2-0 to Moss, I painted the inside corner twice, 2-2. Next pitch, he hits it soft towards the mound, and Wilhelmsen was able to throw out lowrie and get the tag at the plate! Young is up, and I got him to ground out to 2nd to end the inning!!

    Literally cursing the entire inning.. Somehow able to pull through and tie the series at 2 a piece, heading into the match up against the white sox.
    It is these moments why, you really just sit back and enjoy the show!

      If you don't do 30 team control - then the CPU is going to go crazy making roster changes

      Why don't you do 30 team control and then set the settings profile for the other 29 teams to AUTO for everything but lineup / rotation changes - there are a ton of threwads on how to do it

        Hey TNK,

        I know there are some guys messing around with hitting and pitching edits. I was curious if you mess around with it at all? Like some of these guys are a little low on stamina and the strikeout rate for some pitchers was real low. just curious..thanks

          Ok that is what I will do thanks! Also what base file did you use for your rosters? The original OSFM or Ripner's roster with the edits? Thanks again!

              Pretty damn good slider set. I'm getting close to perfect, competetive games. For me hitting is perfect. The one thing that seems just a tick off comes w the pitching, so I may have to tinker w a few of the CPU hitting, maybe human pitching sliders. Literally just one tick on one of them will fix what I'm seeing.

              I've got six franchise games in and 5 of the 6 have been the same. Good competitive games, maybe a tad too much cpu offense considering I use the dbacks who have a nice staff. The starting pitching I can deal with. And it's probably not your sliders at all (tho an adjustment may compensate), but once it gets late, to Ziegler, Hernandez or Putz, in every game the CPU is scoring off those guys and I'm losing late. I'm 0 and 6, and its all because the CPU becomes super hitters late. And these hits are always w two strikes. I throw balls out of the zone and they lay off or piss on gappers.

              Ill get some more games in just to see but like I said, likely not your sliders and its either "just baseball" or the ai engine. I appreciate these though, well done

                I know what you saying. I felt the same way to some extent. But it also felt that if you follow a certain pattern, CPU will get low or high (no matter how low or high) to drive the ball deep. They get sort of a momentum, where they hit harder with better discipline and your breaking stuff hangs more etc. I also noticed it is pretty much the same with my hitting. Once I ''solve'' the CPU pitcher, I start to get hits, walks etc.When you start getting hits, CPU starts throwing more balls (obvious ones) and you get ahead in the count. And once you get ahead in the count and have a little luck, AI pitcher will drop a few in the middle.

                Still, there have been games where I had manufactured runs with sacrifice flys, steals, bunts and won. I had blowouts and been blown out. I thought that pitching gotten easier for me, where I had my first shutout win and was allowing 3 maybe runs at most for the last 10-15 games. Last game, I gave up 2 homers and 9 runs. Sample size is key.

                But yeah, if the CPU is trailing late, you get a feel that CPU hitters getting better plate discipline and better contact rate. Does not feel like cheating though.

                  From there...there will be changes...but only as the season progresses.
                  So the second profile should only have LINEUPS/ROTATIONS as MANUAL? By leaving the 40-MAN and ROSTER MOVES on AUTO won't this still allow the computer to add guys like A-Rod to the 40 and allow them to be added to the MAJORS?

                    Just set all that stuff to manual until you start the regular season

                      Guys - I got a couple things to do early today and then I plan on playing at least games 2 & 3 of my franchise tonight.....I'll post updates n boxscores after the games

                        lowering the speed slider for me helped me improve slightly. but I'm not liking how a 90 mph fastball feels like slow pitch softball. I definitely need to get better at hitting like tnk is saying to most of us. but i do find that average pitchers like Wandy can paint like Maddux. Combine that with the fact that I'm slow on a 92-3 mph fastball and I'm dead. Hahaha.

                        Enjoying these sliders though, man. Great work.

                          TNK, I know this is off topic but you touched on it.

                          For the minors issue in Spring Training, does it require use of an option to move a guy (say Soler of the Cubs out to AA or AAA before the season?) I keep seeing things say it requires an option but Soler has never made and ML appearance so I'm slightly confused.

                            Been using these sliders for a few games now and I am amazed how realistic my stats are. Before, I was experimenting with the sliders and couldn't produce consistent and realistic stats.

                              hey tnk, how do you handle injuries/trades in your franchise, and when your season started, do you manually injure guys like A-Rod etc, and put them on the DL list?

                                Yea that's definitely something I get being a former pitcher. This isn't me cheesing with two fastballs down and away, getting strikes, then trying my luck w a third three inches off the plate. Setting hitters up, changing speeds, location, eye level, pitching to weaknesses. Lol, it sure feels like cheating to me, owning bottom of the order guys the first 3/4 of games and they turn into Ted Williams late and doing it w two strikes.

                                I bumped CPU contact down to 6. gave up four earned w Miley, but survived the 7th-9th (cpu stranded two in each of two). gonna play a handful of games and then will bump it back to 7 and bump up human pitch control to 3 and go from there. But this is the first slider set where I haven't made multiple adjustments, so I'm really happy
