    Stealyerface's Real Game Sliders

Okay, after two years of tweaking, testing, perfecting, more testing, and narrowing down the slider set to play the most (in my opinion) portrayal of baseball, here is the 2013 SYF Real Game Sliders.

I have gone as far as replaying replays to see how quickly the ball is played versus where the runner is, versus where the throw comes from, and after reviewing and watching, I am very proud of this set of sliders that I feel accurately portrays the game of baseball.

I have over 37 years of playing experience, including four years as a DIII pitcher, as well as four years of Amateur Baseball after my college career.

These sliders will make you think, make you move your defense, and you MUST pitch smart, and use the zone, or you will get beaten. You must use the Zone hitting, and with the size of the PCI and the timing window, you are going to have to figure out where the ball is going to be pitched, and adjust accordingly.

So, play a few games, try them out, and see what you think. This game, with this slider set, is fantastic, and because of the speed of the fielders, and the runners, you will see animations you have yet to see, and you will see that attributes play a huge role in how fielders get to balls, and how you need to get a good jump with great guys, and a perfect jump with lower-rated defensive players.

So, sit back, pay attention, and enjoy!!

Feedback is welcome, and please let me know what you think.

I am not timing guy, and you might find hitting too easy with the pitch speed at zero, but the mechanics of the defense should still be a great game. Let me know how you do.

You say 2 years of perfecting this?

Did you use this exact set for MLB the Show 12?

          Re: Stealyerface's Real Game Sliders

Not the exact set, I had to maneuver some of the sliders, but the base set was from my time with '11-'12.

When I say perfecting, I mean trying to get the relationship between ball speed, fielder speed, baserunner speed, and then incorporate all of the sliders into a set that played in a manner that that outcomes that were most closely resembling that of real life.

I want you to hit a ball to the shortstop, have him field it cleanly, and throw Ellsbury out by a half a step, and have you say to yourself, "That is exactly how it would have looked in real life".

The trouble with sliders is that when you lower or raise one of them, it messes with another one... So lowering the baserunner speed is all well and good, but if the fielders' arms are too strong, now you wreck that balance.

So, the balance is what I have been after for the past two years, and so far, I think this one is pretty balanced, erring on the side of the defensive style game, and you'll need to work smart to win consistently...

Try them out, and let me know what you think.

Diggin 'em thus far SYF...say you talking about em in another thread and was waiting...

Trying to get use to not guessing pitches before hand haha...and I never tried broadcast for a fielding view so thats an adjustment, but I like it...

Question thou...I'd like to stick with pure analog hitting as I enjoy it...is there any thing I should tweak(in your opinion)to make it work "better" Thanks

@Brian, I used to use Analog Hitting, but swung at EVERYTHING... So I went back to Zone, and really like it..

I think with the Timing Window from the default game loosened up a little bit, these sliders will work just fine with the Analog Hitting.

Cool. Yeah I'm diggin them. Games are more competitive. I did drop the hitting skill level down one as I get used to hitting on this years game...

And I tend to swing at almost everything as well lol. I've had that problem since Little League Baseball on Nintendo.

                      Re: Stealyerface's Real Game Sliders

I just played a game against the Marlins, using Pure Analog pitching. I may stick with it, as it was my favorite game so far. These sliders work just fine with the Analog, so no issues there.

Red Sox win it 3-1, with Lester going 7 strong, walking 4 and striking out two, with one earned run. Marlins end up with 5 hits. Sox have 7 hits versus Alverez, and win close one.

So far, my favorite slider set to date.

I haven't taken '13 out of the PS3 yet, so I will write them down and get them to you shortly.

'12 version please. I always wait for patches, rosters and the slider makers to do their thing before purchase the latest version of the Show. Probably play '12 for 2 more months.

Thanks in advance for getting them to me.

I will get you the '12 version this evening, but don't bother waiting to get the game.

                              Just get it now.

Then play with the '13 sliders.

Take all the bugs, glitches, complaints, etc... with a grain of salt...

I have zero stuttering, I understand the third base slow down, could care less about the Guess Pitch issues, and once you play a game of '13, '12 will be a coaster for that cold, delicious beer that accompanies your new favorite game.

                              It is reaaaally good.
