Rimshot for BrianU.
Had two more hits to right field with a runner at 2nd end up in outs at the plate tonight. Both runners were above average speed and rounded perfectly but the RF with a 70 power 60 accuracy arm threw back to back perfect strikes to the plate. Losing faith that I'm ever going to get realistic results out of this game.Comment

The only solution sounds like lowering arm strength which may require you to tune other areas of the game.Last edited by BrianU; 05-02-2013, 05:22 PM.Comment

Re: Scoring from 2nd Base
You can give auto base running a try. While it may not sound very fun I tried it out after Armor&Swords suggestion and haven't looked back. It makes the ratings matter more and highlights bad base runnning vs good base running rather than all of them 'thinking' the same way as you do since you control their actions. It may or may not help with the problem. I do not fret if my runner scores or doesn't score its completely CPU driven and plays by the same rules for both teams. It makes it all even. I truly believe from this thread and from the thread about runners rounding 3rd base that something is wonky with the user controls this year. They changed the timing of when to choose to take an extra base and it seems to have screwed things up. Autobaserunning takes a lot of the stress away from the 'i made an awful choice sending him' and lets me focus on the core of the game. You still manually steal bases btw

Re: Scoring from 2nd Base
Thanks for the suggestion. I might give that a try. I've already been experimenting with auto fielding after feeling like I dive at too many hard hit grounders that I might have otherwise scooped up and am enjoying it more than I thought I would. The only downside so far is that sometimes on ground balls to short the SS will sit back and wait for it and a fast runner can end up safe when if he would have charged it like he should have it would have been an out. But I've already had a couple diving plays by infielders that probably wouldn't have happened if I was at the controls. So maybe I'll give auto baserunning a shot and see how it goes. I assume they still tag up and take extra bases on fly balls, etc?
I use autofielding as well for added realism and to make defensive subbing more important.Comment

Well after playing a couple games on auto baserunning it seems more realistic on how often my runners score from 2nd. And runners will still sometimes do the stumble. Joey Votto almost tripped over himself rounding 3rd but luckily still scored because the throw was up the first base line. So it doesn't make them all perfect baserunners which is good. I think I'm going to like it.Comment

Re: Scoring from 2nd Base
Looks like I can't win either way. Just hit a deep fly ball that hit the wall with runners on 1st and 2nd. Even when the CF stopped and turned to face the wall so you knew it was going to hit the wall, the auto runners still held up so it ended up being a single and everyone only moved up one base. Ended up costing me the game too as I wasn't able to get another hit to drive those guys in and lost by 2. Ugh.Comment
