However, when I did make contact, I would always hit a line shot somewhere or hit a hard grounder.
    Great find Cowboy, thanks!!

Re: What the contact slider actually does

Ok I just tried this and didn't see much difference. First I tried rookie mode just so I was sure to get some hits. When I didn't see much variety I thought maybe rookie mode hits it too squared up so I changed to all star, pretty much the same thing. Maybe a bit weaker but not much. I saw the same two fouls, one big pop up and the other a line drive to the dugout the whole game (there was one other one where it went in the lower deck stands but Ive seen that before as well).

I didn't see one ball drop in front of an OF, I have never seen this in MLB but maybe once or twice. No balls to the pitcher and they all made it to the outfield grass when they were played Pretty much all of them were line drives or straight up pop ups.

Just had another game and pretty much same result although I had one ball drop in front of an OF. Part of the problem might be how Im hitting since Im on allstar. But it still seems pretty consistent in the lack of variety.

Still saw almost 80% of the outs were lasers right to the fielder glove or pop upf flys.

I put mine down to 5. Along with the 5 gappers and 2 down the line past the 3rd baseman, I also saw a popup to the pitcher, an infield fly to the first baseman, several rolling grounders to each infielder, including one down to the third baseman that he had to dive toward the line to stab, and several deep towering hits that were caught at the wall.

Mind you, it could be the way you are playing. I was using MO mode and letting the CPU hit, but when I adjusted the slider, I definately saw more variety and not as many web gem, bionic catches.

I was taking note of the cpu hits as well so even if it is my playing they should still be affected.

So this is with contact slider turned up or down? I just switched over from MVP Baseball for the same BS super fielders and checked swing outs. If I turn "contact" up then I'll see better hits and not so many super catches?

Hehe, funny I just switched over to MVP for the same reason. I get a ton more balls in the outfield in MVP than I did with MLB. In MLB half the hits are rocket shots right to an IF/OF. At least in MVP plenty of shots will drop in front of them. And the check swing is a lot easier in MVP too. In MLB i'ts harder to pull off plus the umpire calls quite a few of them as strikes. In MVP I get calls both ways but for the most part I'm happy with how the results are.

Down. Some people have even turned it down to 0. This results in the ball not always being hit so hard, and therefore, you see fewer screaming hot shots that the infielders always catch. It's the strangest thing, but it does appear that you see a more variety of hits with the slider turned all the way down.
