oh and you telling me that you pitch with cold zones on?, dude you should had turned that off the first day you got the game. it is more of a challenge and it is more realistic in terms of pitching. i just leave the strike zone on.

Yeah, but isn't it more of a challenge to not use the Guess Pitch feature, either? How many homeruns would you guys be getting if you didn't use that feature? Just curious...

i dont know..casue if you dont try to guess, its easier to hit the ball, as you get much more contact..once when i first got the game i used to play withou guessing..and i could hit about 4 to 6 HR a game with BOS, using 9 for power and 0 for contact.. i really love the guessing pitch feature now..i think its a lot realistc to what baseball playes like in real life.

I wish they would have made this game with no sliders(like the old-school baseball games). I am having the hardest time finding a decent set of sliders, i have tried various combinations. I am still unable to play one realistic game. Pared please give us some Veteran sliders.

it works pretty well, but offcourse depends on how you play the game..
i am getting extremly realistic boxscores.

Yes, I have tried your slider's. I get way to many hits and no runs. I use the left stick to hit, with guess pitch option off. Very few homeruns unless I turn power up to +13. I was up by six runs in the 9th inning and the Marlins scored seven to win the game, before that they couldnt get a damn hit. Man this slider deal is driving me crazy.

i know..it took me many game to find those slider(wich are perfect to my style of playing)..anyway i think it will be dificult to find sliders that you can have a medium number of hits and a decent number of HRs without guessing pitch..casue you will need a high amount o user power to hit HRs and this will make you get to many hits..i ve tried..trust me..it just doesnt work in veteran..you need to play in allstar to at least try this..but thant the number of k by the computer will be unrealistc. and if not,i mean if you manange to not be strike out, you will again have too many hits...the only way that you wont have many hits and not many ks is, setng the power to a lower number like 7, but than you will need the guess pitch to hit HR(although i have hitted HRs with power set to 7 without guessing picht, but its very very difficult..)

I'm going to make the jump to All-Star and see how I do. I still dont have realistic games on Veteran.

its quite realistc that box..but 10 is too much for me..with 8 i can hit way too many HRs...
anyway, about the hotcold zones, i liked cause its kind of a scout report on a player..you know like a guy saying to your pitcher, dont pitch up agains that player or the other one..

ya but IMO is not realistic, since you know where to pitch so they won't kill you by surprise.

No, it is more realistic to use guess pitch. because just like real life players do they go out there and guess where they think the all is going and then they swing. what you think barry bonds just goes out there and swings at anything?, players in real life guess pitch. also this feature gets you more into the game then just swinging away all the time. oh and if you misguess something you can just swing like you do, so i get the best of both worlds.

one thing is very strange in this game...like, this is the only game that the pitch speed changes the strengh of the contact of the ball..i mean that casue when i play with speed at 20 (wich i think is the most realistc speed) my hits are much harder than when i play with, suppose 5...but the thing is, that playing with 5 you will have much more variaty of hits..evan choopers..and with 20 the variaty drops a lot..so right now i dont know what speed to play anyomre...i would stay at 5.. but its way too slow, and not evan 97 mph fast balls look like weak changeups..

You can do everything you stated with the Guess Pitch feature turned off. Guessing in baseball is a reality, like you said. It doesn't mean you need a "feature" to guess pitch &/or location.

I'm about to give up on this game, I'm finding myself adjusting the sliders more then actually playing the game . Does anyone have a set on sliders that they use all the time?
