Re: Early 60s Playoff Ready roster uploaded.
Hey Don, I am really liking this roster. I actually did a team myself, the 68 Tigers, just to see, and used OOTP Ratings, plus your sliders, and it plays fantastic. Running a playoff mode with them, all MOM, and having a good time.Comment

Re: Early 60s Playoff Ready roster uploaded.
Rwings832 Glad to hear they are playing out well for you in MOM. My CPU vs CPU games are also continuing to play out well for me as I am in the World Series of a Playoff Mode season between the '64 Orioles & '62 Giants. Things are fairly realistic as far as I can tell thus far. Boog Powell has hit 7 homers and driven in 12 runs during the playoffs as he enters the Series & Cepeda & McCovey are killing it for the Giants as well. But Willie Mays is having a tough Post Season thus far but I expect he will recover during the Series.
Played a few CPU vs CPU games today with the newly created '62 Mets and as expected in one game they had 3 errors and 2 in another. Some very questionable plays as well to make me chuckle enough remembering how awful they were back in '62. Their bullpen is still awful in this game as it was back then.
Your '68 Tigers will be part of my Late '60s Set. So please share your creations as others may want to get a jump start using those teams.
This OOTP experiment I feel is proving to be a very good way of creating these rosters. I have only second guessed the low ratings on Bunting for a Base Hit (i.e. Drag Bunting). Other than that rating I am very comfortable with all others. Might decide to alter that single rating a bit later on during the process of creating these rosters but really like taking any personal preferences out of the roster rating process with these OOTP ratings.
Thanks for letting me know how they are working out for you.
I wish others that are controlling either one or both teams during the course of a game would let me know how that is working out for them. I honestly have never played a game controlling a team thus would not be a good judge of it realism as I honestly don't know how to play in that manner.
Take Care,

Re: Early 60s Playoff Ready roster uploaded.
Don, just played a game on my Vita with the Tigers @ Yankees (me). It played a good game, I lost 5-1 as Whitey gave up a 2R HR to Colavito and a 3R HR to Bruton. My only run was a solo shot by Yogi. The M&M boys were held to 3 singles between them. Boy are the Yankees sloooow. Using the OOTP ratings really differentiates between each player's speed, that's for sure!
One small thing I did notice. Since I did an exhibition the DH was in effect, and Kaline was batting leadoff. He was in his normal 3-spot in the other lineups so I figure it was just an oversight, so I just wanted to make you aware.
I like them so far and will be playing more!

Re: Early 60s Playoff Ready roster uploaded.
Hey There Mr Joey,
Glad to hear someone is playing this roster and controlling one or both teams. Also, appreciate the review.
You are 100% correct on the DH Lineups ....... I never touched them as they were not used during the '60s --- they are set as the Computer arranged them. Seems like the Computer likes to have a typical 3 hole hitter leading off as I noticed Yastrzemski leads off for the Red Sox too .......... I may go back and set them as I have not found a way to play without the DH with an American League team as home team during an exhibition game.
Thanks Podna --- Really Appreciated,

Re: Early 60s Playoff Ready roster uploaded.
Your roster looks great and plays really well with HUM vs CPU. Really nice feel. I'm into a playoff and had the O's against the Twins in the AL Wildcard game. I used my own sliders which were basically the same as yours with a couple of tweaks. I'll post them when I put up my playoff set. I lost with the Orioles 3-0 as Camilo Pascual twirled a 3 hit shutout and struck out 15. My timing was off from a long layoff from playing but I started to tag a few at the end but couldn't find the holes. Killebrew was 2-3 with 2 of the Twins 4 2B and Hall hit a solo HR. Twins had 8 hits in all. Milt Pappas was good for me as I struck out 8 and walked 2 but I had one bad inning as the Twins scored their 3 runs in the third.
I just realized when our projects are completed in full we'll have around 90 teams to choose from which will be amazing. With the ability to create a season file with each roster set, there will be no shortage of classic baseball for future titles which will be GREAT. Very nicely done, Don!Pitching, defense and 2 out RBIs win a lot of ball games!
