Historic teams
Hello Don,
May I ask you a question? I've searched the forums at The Show Nation and here at Operation Sports and couldn't find any real answer. Perhaps you may know.
Is it possible to import/export a player from one Roster set to another by possibly using the Player Vault. Example: Player "A" from your Early 60s set and export to Biebig2010 50-60s set?
Now that Biebig2010 has uploaded his All Time Greats V1 (with major AL additions) my mind is running at Warp speed with so many different player and team movements. It would be great if this could be poss. and I hope you don't mind my asking.
thank you Don, take it easy and enjoy
Bob Paulsen
btw: the '64 Phillies are still my favorite, only thing I've done there is get Richie Ashburn back from the Mets, and change Jim Bunning's pitching style.Comment

Re: Early 60s Playoff Ready roster uploaded.
Bob,
Yes, you can upload a player to the vault from one roster set and then download him into another roster set.
However, it is must quicker just to export him from one roster set and then import him into another roster set directly in the game.
I am not sure what you mean by getting Richie Allen back from the Mets with the '64 Phillies .......... you must be playing with "Trade" ON ....... I play with it "OFF" thus no player ever leaves the team they are initially on during the course of the season.
I should be releasing V1.2 during this weekend which will include completed Tampa, Arizona & Colorado teams built like Miami was. The Spendid Splinter & Stan the Man will be included with those new teams.
What Bunning delivery are you using? I might take a look at it and make that change as well.
Take Care,

Re: Early 60s Playoff Ready roster uploaded.
Good morning Don, how ya doing?
I figured Richie Ashburn should definately be in the Phillies team, (always was a Philly) so when I started the Season play I just simply got him back, and made a trade with the Mets. It's easy to trade players when you put apply "Force Trades" on the beginning game screen options.
OK, thank you for the info on the Player Vault Don. I won't go there. For the life of me I can't get the Export/Import player to work even in the same player set. I'll give it another try, I must be missing something very simple.
(See what I mean about me being a computer dummy, and can you just imagine me trying to make my own roster set or player). Ha ha.
I did find something that works perfectly though. It's called "PENCIL AND PAPER". Yep, all ya gotta do is put a player up on the screen and copy each and every player attribute there is, and then apply all those stats to a player ya will never use on the team you wish. It works GREAT! Just time consuming.
Yes sir, Jim Bunning, "Veteran Windup 4". I'm not saying this was his true pitching windup, but it looks good and very acceptible to me.
Looking forward to seeing your new set Don. It sounds great too. I hope you can upload it OK. The Show Nation itself is DOWN FOR THE COUNT so to speak and I can't sign on to save my life. Last night it showed 66 guests and "0" members signed on. Very very annoying as I wanted to compliment Bigbig2010s on his newest set. Damn Sony network for doing their maintenace and ya can't find a single thing about what they're doing on their web sites either.
Operation Sports has Sony Network (the Show Nation) beat by a long shot. No comparison what so ever.
Take care my friend, and excuse my rant and rave, me upset with Sony now.

Re: Early 60s Playoff Ready roster uploaded.
Bob,
I will check out that new Bunning delivery. I remember his delivery well as he would fall off to the right after his release and left leg was fairly straight through the whole delivery.
Opps, my fault on that Richie Ashburn response ..... I thought we were talking about Richie Allen !
Yep, Richie Ashburn really detested being allowed to be selected in the expansion draft by the Mets .... he was on the Cubs at that time .... he really considered retiring rather than playing for the Mets but then I think he finally reconsidered & played 1 season for them before hanging it up. I remember that controversy fairly well !
My new set is up now ..........Last edited by doncropper; 03-14-2015, 02:59 PM.Comment

Re: Early 60s Playoff Ready roster uploaded.
Great Suff Don, thanks from all of us older fans who love seeing baseball history re-made.
Good to see Tom Sturdivant on the Miami Team. I started him against the Oriioles and he did pretty well, not a lot of team support tho. He lost 2 to zip. His Knuckleball was jumping ....
thank you my friend, and take care,

Re: Early 60s Playoff Ready roster uploaded.
Just a quick Hi Don,
I am now totally bewildered, yes sir I am. Between your Early 60's sets and Biebig2010 latest installment I don't even know which team to play in Season play. Love the '64 Phillies, but then theirs the Dodgers and Yankees also ... the Classic old Chicago Cubs look good also.
There's just so many options and to be honest I need to step away from it all for a little while, (been playing and studying all the teams way to much). Me cross-eyed now.
For sure I see no reason to purchase MLB15, everything and more than I could ever wish for is now in MLB14, (aside from the Old-time ballparks) and that's a tough one for me.
Thank you Don for everything.

Re: Early 60s Playoff Ready roster uploaded.
Bob,
I think MLB The Show V15 is going to be a very worthwhile purchase because:
1) These Season rosters can be transferred into it.
2) I think old time stadiums will return.
3) There will be a radio show type broadcast recapping the previous day results which should be fun to listen to while you are browsing other areas/standings/leaders/etc before you start your game of the day.
4) Plus new in game Announcer/Color man commentary with more info provided.
5) I am expecting a few more old time uniforms ............. Etc. Etc. Etc.
So mainly with #1 above, why not move to V15 ---- nothing really to lose except if you enjoy Playoff Mode with these rosters perhaps that will not be possible.
I plan on continuing to do my roster moves/enhancements and such on V14 then start a Season with them, upload them to the cloud and then jump on V15 to grab them and start playing.
I'm anxiously awaiting V15's arrival.
Take Care,

Re: Early 60s Playoff Ready roster uploaded.
Good morning Don,
I'll give the Show 15 some more thought.
Right now I am a bit dissappointed with PlayStation. Bought a new PS3 and MLB13 a few months ago because on their Web Pages it says it has the Historic Stadiums, (which it does) but when it came time to Download from the Vault some old time teams, it can't be done. It says you need an On-Line pass which turns out to be NOT AVAILABLE, even willing to buy the damn thing.
MLB 14 is working beautifully.
Don what gives with "The Show Nation"? It's been down for 6 days now.
I can't sign on, where I had no trouble before. On the Top Right of the Forums page it says something like 60 On-Line users and 2,000 guests. You can view the Forum threads but cannot reply.
VERY ANNOYED!!!
I know I am being out of line to ask, and do apologize. But are you having the same problems with it?
take care my friend,

Re: Early 60s Playoff Ready roster uploaded.
Hi Bob,
MLB The Show 14 on the PS3 still has historic stadiums. They just didn't want to put those PS3 detailed stadiums in the PS4 version. That is why I believe they will reappear in the PS4 version of MLB The Show 15.
Show Nation appears to be letting me post a reply but it has never allowed me to create a new thread. I'm not that familiar with that forum to answer any questions about it.
Take Care,

Re: Early 60s Playoff Ready roster uploaded.
Thank you Don,
I've always been able to post a reply on their Forum also, but now I can't sign in. Just a few minutes ago on their site it showed 70 members signed in and 1400 guests.
I am guessing others members are having a lot of troubles too. I will get on-line with their Support Chat (again) and see what's what.
Yes, I tried to find an MLB14 that is compatible with the ps3 and couldn't find one. Ha ha, just my luck.
Really enjoying the Early 60s set my friend, thank you.

Re: Early '60s Version 1.0 uploaded.
The Early '60s Playoff Ready Roster V01 has been uploaded under the user name stecropper.
This Version of the Early '60s Roster consist of the following completed 25 Man Teams:
AMERICAN LEAGUE:
1961 New York Yankees
1961 Detroit Tigers
1963 Chicago White Sox
1963 Minnesota Twins
1964 Baltimore Orioles
NATIONAL LEAGUE:
1960 Pittsburgh Pirates
1961 Cincinnati Reds
1962 San Francisco Giants
1963 Los Angeles Dodgers
1964 St. Louis Cardinals
Plus:
1961 Milwaukee Braves
1960-64 Miami Marlins (Consisting of Non Starters from various Teams from 1960-1964)
This Roster Set is built with Ratings coming directly from OOTP V14 with the exception of a Pitchers Rating for Stamina, Clutch, H/9, HR/9, K/9 & BB/9; plus all Players Clutch & Durability ratings coming from Jimbo's Historic Calculator. Also a Pitchers Control & Movement Ratings were derived from a formula I created but with input data coming directly from OOTP V14.
I only use CPU vs CPU for games and they seem to really play out well using this method. I hope this works as well for those of you that control either one or both teams during the course of a game. I would be really interested in hearing from anyone that controls one or both teams on how they are playing out for you.
I have also uploaded the Sliders I use to produce the most realistic results for this Roster Set. They are simply called Early '60s and under the user name stecropper.
Future Versions of this Roster Set will include the following 25 Man Teams to complete a Season Ready Version:
1961 Cleveland Indians
1961 Washington Senators
1962 Boston Red Sox
1962 Los Angeles Angels
1962 New York Mets
1964 Chicago Cubs
1964 Houston Colt 45s
1964 Kansas City Athletics
1964 Philadelphia Phillies
1969 Kansas City Royals (Initial Franchise Team)
1969 Seattle Pilots (Initial & Only Franchise Team)
1969 San Diego Padres (Initial Franchise Team)
1969 Montreal Expos (Initial Franchise Team)
1960-64 Tampa Bay Rays (Consisting of Non Starters from various Teams from 1960-1964)
1960-64 Toronto Blue Jays (Consisting of Non Starters from various Teams from 1960-1964)
1960-64 Milwaukee Brewers (Consisting of Non Starters from various Teams from 1960-1964)
1960-64 Arizona D'Backs (Consisting of Non Starters from various Teams from 1960-1964)
1960-64 Colorado Rockies (Consisting of Non Starters from various Teams from 1960-1964)
Eventually each Team will include every Player that Played in the Majors that year for that Team.
Then it will be onto the Late '60s Roster Set (1965-1969) constructed in a similar manner.
I hope you enjoy this creation.
This roster is frigging awesome.
I am a real stickler for detail and you really nailed it on this.
I love how you painstakingly went through the Audio files in the game to find names that most closely resembled any player names that weren't in the game already .
Your ratings system is awesome.
Very realistic.
The game plays like a dream.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know when you get the 1968 Roster done...
THAT is the one I am really waiting for.
I am a DIEHARD Tigers fan. I was 7 years old in 1968 and my whole WORLD was about Baseball and Denny McLain, Mickey Stanley, et. al.
I actually got to eat dinner with Norm Cash at a Capuchin Charities Player Dinner that year.
At this banquet, one player from the team would sit at each table with the people that came.
My dad and I were lucky enough to get Norm Cash.
Awesome.Comment
