Partly due to wanting to avoid confusion from having too many versions of the same roster floating around. Partly because the ratings are all public (linked in POST 27 of the OSFM thread) and people can edit their own. Partly because I don't want to be fielding 20 questions about them. Doing the sims and helping make OSFM is already enough work to do in my free time without having to provide support for a different roster. And then there's the most important reason of all: guys with no concept of statistics running a single sim and spewing misinformation about how the ratings are trash because there was one outlier data point (Trout hit .260 or whatever). No thanks. These ratings will all feature in the Hybrid roster when it comes out.

Right, which is why it's important to look more at the percentages I gave. The K%, BB%, HR%, and average. The gamer will determine how many PAs guys like Soler get (unless he gets hurt), so the raw numbers based on a specific amount of playing time (345 PAs) are less useful. The percentages apply no matter how many PAs Soler (and others) will get.
That's fine, I wasn't gonna ask you to, I was just curious if they were, but since they're not I can wait. I'm just screwing around in 14 trying different things out that I don't normally anyway.

So what are the chances we keep Olt at third and decide to have Bryant in left field. I'm hoping Olt just had that early career call up trouble like Rizzo had in his first trip with the Padres. If what we see now is the Olt we are actually going to get, our lineup will be monstrous. Those that get baseball better than me please tell me why I am possibly right or wrong, but I'm a bit excited for the potential it could bring.

If Olt has figured it out, that would be fantastic. However, he had a great Spring last year, too... so all this means is that he'll get another chance to prove something during the regular season.

I just read an article that said that Bryant is going to start working in the OF this week. Olt can play a little OF, too. Ultimately, the Cubs will have to trade someone (if Olt is successful) because there just aren't enough MLB spots for all of the prospects.

If you got reference images/video go ahead and post them here. That is mostly what I am doing, that and collecting all the players from MLB 14 that I will use again in 15. The game isn't out yet so I am not sure of what equipment will match properly. Hoping I can use as much of the licensed equipment as possible, but the head OSFM guys prefer that if a generic matches better to use that. But if a player is wearing a Nike cleat for example, but that specific Nike cleat isn't in the game I will try to use the "best" Nike replacement I can first.

Spring training references are best right now. MLB.tv if you have it is a great resource, lots of prospects show up there and that is the most current example for their stance/equipment. But since OSFM isn't out until after opening day there is time to gather references from the first games of the minor league season if there are any images available.

Personally, I'd rather not see any generic equipment, the licensed stuff makes the generics look terrible. But that's just me.

My opinion as well, but If the rest of the OSFM crew is going to use say Gen 1 shoes for Adidas than I don't want the Cubs to stick out and have Nike shoes. I'd rather put any licensed equipment on a player as long as it is the right color over the generic stuff.

Sorry if this has already been covered but how deep are you planning to go for the Cubs farm system? I've acquired a PS3 recently and want to play The Show and would love to assist in any way with info on the minors. In the past I did work for Totte's set on MVP Mods from 2005-2007 for MVP 2005, and have done my own full Cub minors set on 360 based off mkharsh's roster the last two seasons. I also provided him with a lot of info/scouting reports/transactions/lineups/ect for A-AAA for the Cubs.

Long story short I can help out with minor league stuff if you need it. I've never rated players in The Show so I can't do CAP's but anything else please let me know.

I can Confirm a couple of overall ratings.

Kyle Hendricks is a 66 overall
Matt Szczur is a 58 overall

Hendricks only a 66? Seems pretty low considering how well he pitched last year.

Agreed. The Hybrid ratings we have for Hendricks amount to a 77 OVR. Normally I couldn't care less about OVR, but there must be some pretty big attribute differences in SCEA's ratings to make him a 66. It remains to be seen how updating his pitch f/x (pitch edits) will change the ratings we have for him.

Then again, the fact that SCEA is mediocre at rating players is why the Hybrid roster was ever invented to begin with. A 3-year average doesn't do much for a guy who's been in the league for only 1 year or for a guy who's made some big changes in his skill level recently.

Hendricks at 66 is brutal. I'm changing the hell outta that.

Like Wait said, don't worry about the SCEA ratings anymore as it pertains to OSFM since there will be the hybrid set.

Even if you disagree with the hybrid ratings the odds are high that it is only a small amount of players compared to the SCEA ratings.

I could still use someone to fill in faces for new Cubs prospects, with the import trick it will be much easier to get faces transferred over and I won't have to use my import image thing I used the past few years to do so.

Also once I get everything imported into MLB 15 I'll post up a preliminary roster with the faces from last year and if anyone wants to edit some of those faces go ahead. In fact I can put up a MLB 14 roster as well once I collect what I feel are the best faces so far for anyone who doesn't have 15 yet.

Who are those players? You sure you didn't get them mixed up?

Kidding aside, they look pretty bad. If you showed me them I would have never guessed who they were supposed to me.

They probably didn't get scanned last year. Chances are they might have gotten scanned this spring so maybe next year they'll look better.........hopefully.
