Yes, but he is far down the depth chart for catchers at the moment. As a 2B, he might actually make the 90 man roster. As a C, no.

You guys probably already know this but since Phil Coke made the Cubs he's making 2.25 million on a one year deal.

I uploaded Kris Bryant, if you guys want to take a look. I'm using Veteran Stance 32. It's the closest thing to his real stance I could find. His ratings might be a little high, but not really. lol

I didn't really mess with his face that much.

Let me know what you think.

Hi MrOldboy and Figment. Thank you for the responses.
I have read most of the posts for the OSFM and Hybrid versions so I had an idea of what is happening, but I wasn't sure about how the exact list of people on the Cubs would work. I saw that Figment posted the initial list at the start of the thread but I also saw MrOldboy was in charge of the Cubs, so I was a bit confused. Sorry.
I saw something about how MrOldboy may also release some extra minor leaguers to give us a opportunity to change around our rosters. I was wondering if that would be for V1 or in the future? Sorry if this seems a bit picky and you can't answer it right now. I was just curious about it.
Also, I saw that MrOldboy will have an extra Soler and Baez with better faces. I was wondering if they would lose their commentary in game, or if it will be there with the audio database thing? Sorry if this seems really newbie, but I've never played The Show before(although I have played MLB 2K, NHL 2K, NBA 2K, Madden, etc), so I appreciate any help. Thanks.

So my initial post was just hopeful thinking long before we knew exactly what players were going to be included in the roster. My most recent list is my opinion of who should be in the roster, with the guidelines from OSFM. The extra players will come after OSFM V1 probably in a Cubs extras file. You can then take those players from the extra file and export them in to whatever roster you want, so you have a lot of options for how the roster will shape up.

                    Re: 2015 Chicago Cubs

For the extra Cubs players I have many created, but without faces. I'll try and get some of them faces and some already do from last year like Amaya for example.

Regarding the replacement Soler and Baez I have no idea if they will lose their commentary. Their names are in the game so the announcer will still say stuff like "Coming up, Soler" for example like when you create any player. But if there is unique commentary they might lose it, I have no idea how that stuff works.

I'm going to use the Hybrid ratings for them and put them in the vault. I'll make a post when I do. I might remake Alcantara as well since his face in game is also pretty bad. Not that the OSFM faces are a gigantic step up, but I find them more appealing than the stock ones in the game this year.

I'm not touching any MLB players, separate OSFM guys are working on specific MLB stuff like equipment and contracts.

But for equipment if you have specific equipment suggestions for prospects or MLB players let me know. I can post the MLB ones in the equipment thread so they get added for OSFM.

Ok, I'm gonna take a stab at my list. Doing my best to guess how the final moves are gonna shake out so here it goes:

IFs (6) - Valaika, Baez, Bryant, Villanueva, Russell, Herrera

IFs (6) - Vogelbach, Darvill, Lockhart, Candelario, E. Soto, Torres
OFs (5) - Almora, Ha, Hannemann, McKinney

                      Class A:
                      Beeler (DL)
                      Turner (DL)
                      Wada (DL)
                      Denorfia (DL)
                      Underwood
                      Tseng
                      Stinnett
                      Zagunis
                      Steele
                      Jimenez
                      Sands
                      Cease
                      Clifton
                      Mitchell
                      Norwood

Extras: F. Bautista (RP), J. Antigua (RP), T. McNutt (RP), T. Davis (C), S. Bruno (IF), Mota (IF), Dent (IF), Andreoli (OF), Giansanti (OF), F. Pena (SP), A. Santiago (SP), J. Rosario (SP), Brazis (RP), Cates (RP), Francescon (RP), Concepcion (RP), Contreras (C), Geiger (IF), Penalver (IF), Chen (OF)

That should be a pretty comprehensive and hopefully well organized list. I limited my list to 15 Class A players and bumped some of those up to AA to cover the 4 injuries. As you can see I also included a decent list of guys who may have a shot to make one of those two rosters and may be needed to fill in a position if it's short.

Also, could anyone explain to me how potential works? I was looking at the spreadsheet and there seems to be only one potential number. Is it a player's ceiling? Their floor? The rate at which they develop? Some combination of these? Thanks for any help.

Supposedly Tony Zych was traded to the Mariners per his Twitter and Instagram, for who or what I have no idea. Also keep in mind it is April Fool's Day so who knows? I guess we'll find out for sure soon enough.

I hope not, I just spent 6 hours perfecting him for the rosters!

                            Okay, not really.

But I do have most of the Offensive players done, face wise, and will be working on the Pitchers soon.

Once I get equipment edits done I'll put up some in game screenshots. I think you guys will be quite pleased with Fades' work.

The potential rating in The Show is basically the player's peak overall rating. It can change based on how they perform in the minors. Typically I've seen it go from B+ to A- or B+ to B for example. I've never seen a C go to an A.

So as a simple example if you have a player whose peak individual skill ratings comes out to an 88 in MLB 15, you want his potential to be an 88. Then you need to step back his individual skill ratings like Discipline or Speed. This depends on how long you think it will take them to reach that potential or peak. This isn't an exact science and the only way to really know for sure is to do a lot of sims in franchise. The head OSFM crew over the years have done tons of simming and testing to figure out the game's progression system.

I'm kinda bummed that Alcantara and LaStella's names aren't in the game. That makes it harder to replace the SCEA one that doesn't look much like him. Also Alcantara's stance is hidden even though it says its there. Hopefully that gets fixed in a patch. If not does anyone have a good stance for him?
