Word on the street is either Friday or Saturday. I'm assuming that's why they called up Rosscup to replace La Stella instead of a position player. Also, Rosscup could probably use a boost to his ratings, he is barely worth a AA spot every year, but he plays half the year in the majors.

Re: 2015 Chicago Cubs
The thing I found with relievers. is that if they're clutch is high the other ratings don't matter as much. I honestly hope they bring at Bryant input list alla on the DL and I hope Javier Baez comes back soon as well

Re: 2015 Chicago Cubs
In my opinion Baez still has a lot of learning to do. I think the only reason they called him up last year is so he could actually see that what he was doing wouldn't work in the Majors. He still needs time to develop and learn his swing and pitch selection. I wouldn't call him up at all this season.Comment

Re: 2015 Chicago Cubs
Regarding Bryant's stance, he holds his hands a lot higher and around a 90+ degree angle to his shoulders now. Nothing in game really matched this and Owings was the closest I could find.
The other alternatives I found were V150 and Vasquez. Nothing really matches Bryant, especially since he has his pre-swing load where he lifts the bat vertical before swinging.

Re: 2015 Chicago Cubs
See I don't think his swing is the issue. He's shown the ability to shorten up on two strikes and I don't think he's ever going to be a 300 hitter. But 250-260 with 30 pounds a year that's the type of player he's going to be in that's enough to become an all star. I think it's election will be his biggest key and getting that muscle memory into his swing to correct the little hitches.

For the most part I agree with you, I just think he needs to apply it in AAA and show some consistency with his pitch selection and a bit of patience. He CAN be an all star, I personally think they need to just get him rolling in AAA and trade him. We have a huge logjam at the SS/2B area, and I don't think he is one of the choices to go forward with.Comment

Re: 2015 Chicago Cubs
I have a sneaking suspicion that Castro gets dealt at the deadline....if Baez and Russell are so well....

Hopefully within the next day. I will out out what I got for now and then give ItAllFades the rest for faces for the next pack.

I'm going through now finding recent images/video to use as references. The first chunk will just be the players that Fades made faces for, but did not make it into the main OSFM roster.
Some players I submitted actually didn't even make it in due to the OSFM crew wanting to add in players like Teagarden and Willson Contreras which I don't really agree with.Comment

Re: 2015 Chicago Cubs
I think Castro is going to end up changing positions, either to 2B or 3B. I think he is undervalued as someone with 5 years MLB experience, 3 time all star, with a high batting average at only 25 years old. If the front office feels that they think Baez will be better than that within the next two years, then go for it. Russel and Baez at SS and 2B would be a huge increase on defense. If not though, Baez is the odd man out, and one thing to consider is Castro's very team friendly contract.Comment

Re: 2015 Chicago Cubs
What do yall think about Bryant in leftfield......castro at third, Russell at short and baez at second? I really think (as long as Bryant can play left and castro would be alright playing third) this would be the best of all worlds for the cubs..... Bryant, Fowler and Soler in the outfield........castro 3b, Russell ss, baez 2b, Rizzo 1b and Montero catching....talk about a young and controllable core of players...........
I have never seen a player who is such a talented fielder, be so bad at fielding like Castro is.
Ultimately, the Cubs need to find a combination of Castro, Bryant, Baez, and Russell in the lineup that poses the best defensive formation as well. Baez and Russell are much better fielders than Castro is, but between Castro and Bryant, I'm not so sure Bryant isn't the better fielder. I think it would make sense to move Castro to left field to take away his need to react so quickly, and put him in a place he can be patient. He has enough athleticism to pull it off and his arm is good enough. So I am looking at:
2B Javier Baez
3B Kris Bryant
SS Addison Russell
LF Starlin Castro
In my franchise once everyone gets called up, and I don't intend to trade any of them either.Comment
