That's fine. As long as I'm not being criticized for giving out information that was told me to by a credible source without being told its outdated, then I'm ok with that. Lol

Originally the Hybrid was going to get out roughly around the same time as the OSFM but because of the negative effect our original organization and info we gave out to start the project and all the fake OSFM rosters that flooded the market per say, we decided to get V1 out ASAP and put more time into subsequent releases. Hybrid work will begin once I get the OSFM and really it depends on the time it take to finish it for release. More info will be coming on a new thread tomorrow for the Hybrid

I will give as unbiased an answer as one can give seeing I created the Hybrid and have been in many cases the final decision maker on the many different ratings changes we have made over the 4 years of it's existence.

I think, I have yet to see because we haven't started entering numbers this year you will see some higher overalls than in the past - as well as a new progression system hopefully it allows for more natural growth in a player. Unfortunately there is no way of providing true player growth based on a players specific talents unless you do training yourself with all 30 teams and control it all year - the CPU tries to create all players even and balanced when they hit their potential, but supposedly with the new growth systems we will see more players fail to hit potential in the past.

With editable potentials last year we began trying to find more realistic potentials and have had some great discussions surrounding this when I was able to be in the chat room with the guys, and on the spreadsheet we had potentials very accurate and much lower this year.

Now what I have found in the past - I have gone as far as 3 years ahead (7 years once in a sim) in my franchise only once, what I saw was horrible decline from older players who probably should not see that big a drop - still not sure how to correct that because it happens with both the base and Hybrid roster.
Prospects grow for the most part on a realistic scale towards their potential, some exceeding it - which again is a real thing in baseball.
Current major league players have been tough to gauge but for the most part my experience is the grow properly unless they are over 32-33 then they decline a little too quickly or retire too young.

As for the draft pick issue, yes it is a little more of an issue with the Hybrid but it is the same issue as the base roster - too many studs are available each draft that jump to start in AAA or the bigs - for some reason in the 10 years I have been playing the show I have always found the draft is more like a NHL or NFL draft that way where baseball you are amazed if more than 1 guy gets to the bigs even within 2 years of being drafted - that said teams seem to be getting younger (except the Yankees) every year now.
Good insight, thanks for the reply Willard. I just want to clarify that I am not bashing the Hyrbid in any way. I respect the project and actually downloaded it last year with intentions of trying it out but with the PS3 version's budget problem in franchise never fixed, I unintentionally ended up taking a year off from the series.

Lowering potentials would definitely help with what I was asking about. For example a re-rated Andrew McCutchen hits his regular 25-30 bombs in your roster but his potential is still somewhere in the mid 90's so in a couple of seasons when he gets up to that point will he start hitting 35-40 bombs in your Roster? This is one of the "issues" I have with the Hybrid. Something that SCEA ratings stop from happening.

However lowering potentials will curb this situation. I like seeing that OVR's are a bit higher this year as well. Every year you guys seem to be developing a better product through discussion and debate. I will definitely take a hard look at the Hybrid this year because SCEA rating truly has its warts. When I see a guy like Alex Gordon hitting 30 bombs every season in simulations, it disappoints me...
            T.K.

Again, I have not done a ton of testing this year yet myself, I will once I get ratings entered, but you will have guys regardless of the roster to weird things - just like in real life sometimes. When we do the rerate the changes are never dramatic except for less experienced players as a rule or it brings some older guys up a bit, but yes potentials used to be inflated in this game and we have really focused on our spreadsheet with more realistic expectations

Threebs, I definitely didn't notice that concern of yours happening in last year's hybrid. They didn't boost the potentials for guys like Cutch. They did it for the older players as a way to stave off a rapid regression. It worked to some degree. They still regressed but not near as bad.

Yeah I agree with that, I already posted this on another thread, but I was wondering on if making player contracts proportional to the in game budget would work? What I mean is real life player salary*in game team budget/real life team budget. That way all the teams would still have a budget that adds up to the in game one, but the players would have a contract value that is proportional to real life, so players who are on team friendly contracts would still have them(relatively) in game and teams would still try to get rid of "bad" contracts(relative to the other values of contracts in the game).

If someone would be willing to try this for OSFM and Hybrid it'd be much appreciated.

Willard- Could you please post a link where I can donate to your charity? I am so sorry to hear about your little one and my prayers are with your family for a succesful and speed recovery.

Last year was my first year playing The Show and I used your Hybrid rosters for franchise. I appreciate all the work that goes into this project and I thought they were fantastic.

Is there any way to combine the real minor leaguers of the OSFM roster, with the MLB players that will be put in the game in the first official roster update?

From an A's perspective, I'm talking about being able to get the official versions of major leaguers like Mark Cana and Tyler Ladendorf.

                      Any info would be appreciated!

You can export them from the live roster update and import them into the OS roster(over the corresponding player)

I don't believe you can do this in a franchise though, if I'm wrong I will be very excited. Been wanting to export players into an existing franchise for awhile now.

You can't do that this year.

Re: 2015 OSFM HYBRID CREATION AND EXECUTION

Not to beat a dead horse but I see that discussion of Hybrid roster and how drafted players impact it, drafted players having high ratings and things go haywire after 3 or so seasons.

In a perfect world things would match up, and I agree the ratings should be on the same scale if possible. But I will say I think anyone planning to play 3+ years of franchise worrying about hybrid player ratings off scale should be more worried about the things tbarnes found in his sim tests with pitchers ratings inflated ruining the league. The fact is, most sports games franchise modes fall apart after a certain amount of years. I've always found the best method is to enjoy a few years of franchise when things work as they should and just bail on the long distance franchise idea.

I would like to see SCEA fix the long term franchise problems because those are much more pressing. Sim stats, player ratings, contracts, etc... It's especially needed because of the new year to year saves feature they added. It doesn't quite make sense to add that feature but then leave all the broken things about multi year franchise in the game.

Hopefully next year guys that enjoy 3+ year franchise mode will get the game they deserve. We should all have the opportunity to play the game the way we want to with the same quality as others.
