dpc: I believe contracts remain the same if you do a fantasy draft... Also, the game generates team budget directly from player payroll. so higher payroll=higher budget.

Yeah for the first few 20 rounds or so I was going for best player available. They all happened to be older. So it will be a challenge for the long term. I will have to scout well to stay competitive.

I just want to say thanks to all that worked on this excellent fantasy roster.

I'm having so much fun with it!..I like not knowing who the superstar players are until far into my franchise, that's what makes it fun and interesting.

Thanks again for the roster, very much appreciated!..

      Peace!

I havent had a chance to download these yet. But from the response you got a great roster creator2700. Good job. The wait was well worth it. BTW did a lot of my spreadsheet guys that the community made make it in? And I still a 3B in there somewhere?

Truly though, Creator, Im glad you got this out..I know it frustrated you last year.

Thanks man. As for your players from the spreadsheets, I couldn't possibly list them but I know a lot got in from you, me, farmer joe, and others creating them.

And yes... Starting 3b for Toronto. I remembered you were a fan of them.

I hope you get a chance to download them and enjoy them as well! You put in plenty of work too and certainly deserve to get use out of them.
I play sports games and spend way too much time making rosters.

Sweet. And thanks. I have as much fun creating spreadsheets for guys to create...I will definitely be downloading them..just dont get the same amount of game time as I use to...So I guess theres a work around that allows you get stats and service time (this could be a long term project for me with fictional rosters.)

As for now I've actually been thinking about doing that for next year... Unless SCEA comes up with an easier way to transfer rosters, I'll probably sim to set increments in a franchise before exporting the players next year so that they have stats and service time.

Re: Fictional Rosters: MLB 2015 The Show

This is well done, guys. Thanks to all. I did a fantasy draft and drafted young, good potential over age and ability. Trying to build a long lasting franchise.

There's only one critique, if I may. I feel like there isn't a lot of power hitters. Every good player was good due to contact over power. And there wasn't a 1B with a power at or over 90. Guys like Encarnacion, Ortiz, Pedro Alvarez, etc. If you sprinkled a little more power in to these, I think they'd be perfect.

                Okay, so my drafted team.
                Lineup
                CF - Harrisson Sterling 84A
SS - Denny Baez 95A (first draft choice, instantly decided to use him as a SS. cheating? :P)
                1B - Emmitt Vincent 82A
                LF - Cam Crosby 86A
                DH - Manuel Valdez 80B
                RF - C.J. Correa 78A
                C - Travis Perry 76B
                2B - Andy Harp 77A
                3B - Forrest Emerson 65B

                Bench
                SS/2B - Dannys Posada 71B
                3B/OF - Nelson Flores 68B
                C - Hugh Shook 67C
                CF - Robbie Kelly 72B

                Starting Rotation
                Evan Kirkland - 77A
                Isaiah Joseph - 72A
                Jon Tripp - 72A
                Noah Szymczak - 71A
                Robin Heard - 70A
Nebraska Cornhuskers Detroit Tigers San Francisco 49ers Detroit Red Wings Syracuse Orange New York Knicks

I started my Phillies franchise with fantasy draft and off to a rough 2-6 start. Loving the rosters (I made a few tweaks and edited a bunch of equipment). I have Kobey Bench as my 1B. He is a beast.
My pitching staff needs some work, already fired my pitching coach. I have a bunch of early 20 year olds with high potential, so hoping for a building long term franchise with the Phillies.
How are all of you going to manage year to year retired players and new computer generated players? Are you going to edit all of the new players that are generated?

Anyone working on an updated version of these to upload with equipment edits or any other changes? I downloaded the roster last night and really enjoyed using them in the couple of games that I played. One thing I did notice last night though is that the Rays lineup is loaded with righties. I think 6 of the first 7 batters all batted right-handed. Just something you may want to look at changing up a little if anyone is planning to update.

Looks good so far but I don't really like how you have re used player faces from other sets with slight variations (if any) a la Matt Williams, Pedro Martinez, Roy Halladay. This was also a brief skim where I noticed these faces which was dissapointing. Also may think it was an error but Marco Gonzalez of the Cardinals is in this roster.

If it's ok with the creators I'll be working with this set as a base for my Ken Griffey Jr's Winning Run inspired set and I'll post that in a week or so.

Just giving you guys a heads up. I've just decided to edit 1 or 2 guys on my team (just the 25 man roster for now) before each game I play, and then I'll eventually move on and do the same for each other team.
I simulated and took a look at drafted players equipment and found that some generic gear is acceptable. The roster of players starts with more generic equipment than you will see from drafted players, but drafted players will occasionally use generic equipment.

Overall, it is not bad equipment wise.

EDIT: If we could find a group of editors to just add namebrand equipment to guys that currently sport generic gear, I would definitely be interested in doing a team or two.

This roster is fantastic. I have been looking for a quality fictional roster for a while and I just happened to come across this one in the vault. Great work.

One "flaw" I have noticed is that a lot of the hitters I have seen have very even R/L splits. I went through all the hitters on the 25 man rosters for Chicago (NL) and Houston and the only hitters who carried heavy splits against RHP or LHP were:

                            Travis Perry, Catcher, Chicago (64 R/75 L)
                            Blake Witt, Catcher, Houston (59 R/81 L)
                            Francis Hernandez, 3B, Houston (77 R/63 L)

(And those are the only the contact numbers. The power numbers remain very even for both R/L for just about every player I have come across so far.)

Is that normal? Should there be more players like these, or is this about right? I feel like there should be more, but perhaps I am wrong, or these teams could just be outliers.

                              Chris Guevara, 24, 78 ovr, B, RHP
                              Alvaro Furillo, 24, 77 ovr, B, LHP

                              Richie Combs
                              Keith Wyrick

Very fun roster. I havent decided if I will use this team for a franchise, or if I will play with the default Cubs team. Gates, Young, Crosby, Hernandez, Roberts, and Duffy would be fun to play with, and it is a young team with upside and a lot of financial flexibility....

But I am a Cubs fan and Terrence Tankersley is a freaking monster. I played 4-5 games with him, Rex Carter, Maldonado, Angeles, and the rest of that Cubs team and they are great.

I must admit, I can get addicted to a franchise with fictional players much faster than a franchise with the real players. There is just something cool about playing in your own little fantasy world. The real teams are great, but the results always feel scripted. Like, I know who is supposed to win. With a roster like this, it is truly a whole new experience.

I very much appreciate all the hard work that I know went into these rosters. They are a thing of beauty.

Pretty good roster you have! I am using the Phillies using fantasy draft and also drafted Crosby, Gates, and Francis Hernandez. Good group of young talent.
