To each their own. I, personally, like to think of these players as "easter eggs" in a sense. If you don't like them, edit away, my friend!

But be warned... You have MANY more to find

PS: I don't know who Matt Williams is so that must have been another person's contribution, though I take full credit for Holliday and Martinez. (and Yount, and Brooks Robinson, and Manny Ramirez.......)
I play sports games and spend way too much time making rosters.

I agree with you. Guys can edit whatever they want. Thanks for the great roster and the time that went into it.

P.S. You don't know who Matt Williams is???!!!???

I've been slowly but surely editing these rosters to my liking (equipment, skill sliders, contracts), and I must say it's a long task.

What I'm currently trying to do is lower the potential on a lot of players to limit the inflation of overall skill over the course of a few years.

What have you been doing and what team are you on?

I would love to split this project with you so both of us could get it done quicker.

Even if we didnt like every little detail about the equipment we choose, that could be changed on our own rosters after the fact.

I am editing NL Central teams, and judging by your avatar, you probably have interest in the AL West.

Matt Williams is a 1st Ballot Hall of Very Good Player:

I'm not sure how it's possible for a serious baseball fan to not know who he is unless you are very young! He was a longtime Giant and was leading the NL in homers in the strike shortened year in 1994 and he also played a role on some of those early D'Backs teams. One of the better 3rd basemen of the 80s/90s/early aughts.

I think it's unfair for you to take other people's creations and edit them. That is all they worked hard on those faces and should be credited for doing so

I think its unfair for you to critize when you dont know what the situation is. All players faces that were used was asked for before being used. They are either from the OSFM, which we asked, justmunc fictional roster, which was asked, SCEA edits which..we can do what we want or original creations. As stated..dont like..dont use it but dont accuse people or use your moral judgement on something you didnt contribute to.

                  Travis Perry, Catcher, Chicago (64 R/75 L)
                  Blake Witt, Catcher, Houston (59 R/81 L)

(And those are the only the contact numbers. The power numbers remain very even for both R/L for just about every player I have come across so far.)

Is that normal? Should there be more players like these, or is this about right? I feel like there should be more, but perhaps I am wrong, or these teams could just be outliers.
I helped with a version of this roster last year and provided spreadsheets for ratings for a lot of the players the community made.

If you like to add more platoon type players I can provide you with ratings to change anyone you like, from and level, just let me know. Also, if you want any other type of player, position or pitcher, let me know and I can pass on some ratings.

Same goes with anyone else out there. If you want more power or speedsters or contact guys...or different pitcher types let me know I'll send a sheet to you. PM me if interested..

I think this has been a great set..and increase the ratings of the Blue Jays 3B. I think I was too modest before

Man, you really made this thread hostile for absolutely no reason. You make it seem as though we're taking someone's life's work and using it as our own.

In this particular roster, I see that my previous roster makes up over half of it. I have absolutely no problem with my players being edited, especially since I just go back and put them back to the way they were (Vinny Betemit & Adrian Perez *Manny Ramirez lookalike* on the Twins). I had to of taken players from twenty or so rosters to compose last season's roster, nothing is copyrighted.

Currently, I'm working on the AL West as you mention it, but I've already completed the other two AL divisions (not the contracts).

I'm not quite sure how we could combine both our progresses without doing a mass amount of importing/exporting, but if you know a way, I'd be open to it.

The order in which I do my edits include but aren't limited too:

                      Equipment edits
Moving minor league CP's to RP
Potential edits (More C's, less B's & A's, especially for relievers) (stops rating inflations in franchise mode)
Overall rating edits (Adding a few platoon situations, preventing inflation, lowering reliever ratings *stamina*)
Appearance/name edits (This is just personal preference, sorry to the creators)
Removing prior MLB service players. I want everyone with a clean slate (minus the few I may of missed)
Single A hidden gems (Young talent that is scattered in the roster. Interesting to see if they make it to the show.)

Well, if you wanted to give me broad outline of what you would like me to do in the NL, I could work on it when you not actively editing your version of the roster.

The best way I can think of doing this is to simply upload the roster (that you currently have finished through most of the AL) into the vault. Send me a PM on here when get done with any edits you are working on, and upload at that point.

I can then download the roster, work on NL teams while you are not playing the game, and try to get as much done as possible according to what you would like done (potentials, equipment, ratings, names, service time would all be pretty simple).

Then I can upload what I get done each night (I usually play the game late night because that is really the only time I get lol). The next morning (or whenever you log back on) it will be waiting there for you to continue working on.

That might be more trouble than it is worth, and I can understand if you would like to do your own edits, but I am willing to do anything to help you out if you are interested.

I currently only have two teams left in the AL West so that should be done before the end of friday...hopefully.

What I'm thinking we could do, as you said, is continuously upload each others' progress and work from there.

I would probably have you work on equipment edits, similar to how I had in the AL (fairly realistic and simplistic). I've made sure every player has a name brand glove, batting gloves, and bat, while the cleats have slightly a little more generic variation. Honestly if you were to help me out with this, it would quicken the process greatly!

I have to agree with others who disagreed with this post. This is absurd. The whole purpose of having a roster vault is for sharing. If people don't want to share their creations, then their recourse is to not post things into the vault. Likely, a lot of these are edited from someone else, who has taken someone else's work and edited it and so on. I really don't think it's anything to take offense to and there's no way to stop it from happening even if it were egregious.

I am up for it. Just let me know when I should plan on working and what you want me to do.

For equipment, I would basically add what you said. Name brand gear (the game looks so much better with name brand equipment). I know a lot of the colors used are varied as well. I could make sure players wear team color 1, team color 2 and team color 3. That way, if they get traded they will wear correct colors for their new team. (I would leave the occasional highlighter yellow for Nike batting gloves/cleats).

As far as ratings, I can make potential updates fairly easily, and minor rating adjustments can be done if you had a plan for who you wanted it done.

Names/faces/etc I would likely just leave for you to adjust on your own because that requires more personal thought and detail.
