First of all, I understand completely. Having someone call your roster that you spent many hours on a "fake" or "imitation" will naturally stir up some stuff. But, I am not coming at it from the direction of assessing the quality of it; I am just concerned about the confusion of similarly named things. We already have to answer wayyyyyyy too many questions about how OSFM and Hybrid are different so can you imagine that with 1. OSFM 2. Hybrid and 3. "OSFM Hybrid" ? It would be insane.

I appreciate the note you made in the OP, but I'd like to see you go even a tiny bit further and re-upload your set as a name that doesn't even have "Hybrid" in it. Now, of course I have zero power to make you do this, but I just think it would be in everyone's best interests to keep confusion from spreading.

We all owe each other here and no one's public property is truly theirs. Hybrid is nothing without OSFM and OSFM is nothing without the game SCEA makes each year. So we can/should work together, but in a way that keeps people's heads from exploding from too many rosters named the same "buzz words." Again, I have zero problems with you using the data we made public. It would be hypocritical of me because we rely on OSFM and pitch edits ourselves.

        Re: Hybrid + OSFM

I don't do any work for OSFM or Hybrid rosters but I just don't understand why you wouldn't name it something else. If you post it on here and just tell everyone what you did and it is named "Roster 88172543" then people will go look for it under your PSN name.

All this does is prevent WTNY and others from sharing their data in the future. So while you definitely deserve the props for putting in the grunt work it is definitely a dick move when he so definitively asked you NOT to use the word Hybrid in your roster title.

Hey man, no hard feelings. I realize it sucks right now because we'll have to answer "which Hybrid is this?" questions all summer and you have this roster you worked hard on and are excited about, but the roll out didn't quite go according to plan, but you live and learn. Personally, I didn't think you had anything but the best intentions in mind (since you basically offered your roster to us), but sometimes the devil is in the details.

Oh, and you can always create a new thread!

As a neutral observer I can assure you that you did that to yourself by choosing the name you did to get more downloads.

You've been here long enough to know the pride you guys all take in these sets and to take partial work from others and pass it off as the full thing is quite unfair.

I know you are saying that you fully disclosed in this thread what it was but there are a lot more users than you think that wait for these rosters every year without viewing this forum at all.

Coincidentally I believe this will have a negative effect on your rosters as the word get's around that it isn't the actual OSFM Hybrids people are waiting for.

Either way, whats done is done. I would just have thought that as a roster maker yourself, knowing the pride that goes into these rosters you would have come up with a more unique identifier as the roster name.

Had you just come out and said "me bad" instead of getting super defensive this wouldn't have even been a discussion at all and you could have had your thread as you wanted it.

You made a mistake but it's certainly not an unrecoverable one. Come up with a way to set your rosters apart and re-roll the dice. Having a bit of a sense of humor about yourself never hurts - why not call your set the HydroxFM© rosters? It makes it clear what the lineage of your rosters is while making it clear you're not trying to be the actual Hybrid set. Make a new thread with a new title, reupload the file with a new name, and figure out what niche your rosters fill long-term.

Gentleman, myself and a friend have put in yeoman's work the past 36 hours and we have gone over the spreadsheet provided by the great guys here at the forums..and we have input it into the OSFM file! It was alot of work, but worth it to me. I just have to have the re-rates, I'm kind of a perfectionist in that way. The pitch edits are NOT fully input yet, but due to people demanding these things be released with/without pitch edits (some prefer not to have them) I have decided to release what I have now to everyone. It is in the vault, PSN: BEasy17

The roster is titled: OSFM Hybrid

Thanks to everyone here who worked on the spreadsheet, I'm simply the guy that put in the grunt work

The only thing I ask is to please Like the roster after you download it. Thank you! Enjoy them.

While I appreciate your hard work you guys put in, I agree with WTNY. I know your intention was not to take away from our roster, but by using our ratings and name you kind of did. The Hybrid name was my own, it was my own roster from way back and it will add confusion. If you could take it down and call it OSFM rerate or something to that extent I would greatly appreciate it.

Anybody else noticing how the sense of community is gradually eroding on these forums?

People already faked OSFM and are already posting various hybrid rosters. It is going to happen. Hybrid has evolved into meaning that it has full minors and rerates. Consider that. Evolve as well would be my suggestion.

It is nice to have pride and a sense of accomplishment. But, this is still a community. I feel like your spreadsheet should be public based on that premise of community. Even if someone pushes out a different hybrid before yours is done, yours still has all the bells and whistles and is tested. But someone else who is part of the community can start with what they feel is okay.

That's not to mention people who are literally afraid to post because they might get called dumb or "yelled" at for asking about an ETA or what is in the roster. We lose part of our community before they even truly enter it.

I understand the history. I was part of it. Yes, I've even helped with some of these rosters in the past but I don't toot about it because it is a community.

Someone I won't mention who did eventually put out a truly terrific roster but it took them until August to get it out and people were thinking May. It was one of the most anticipated rosters ever and the first to use projection systems. Hence a lot of the questions. People also want a general idea. They want to know whether to start with OSFM or another roster or decide how long they can wait for another roster. Putting no ETA at all isn't communal. Don't worry about people who say "you said it would be done in 2 weeks", the community will handle them. Heck, stave it off by being really general or overshooting. Just give them an idea.

We aren't an open community anymore. I am saddened by this. /soapbox

I have no issue that redsfan respects our work enough that he wanted to go ahead and do this - he helped out a lot on the OSFM and Hybrid in the past as have you and many others, all I ask is for the roster to have a different name so as not to confuse users because as you say the Hybrid has all the bells and whistles and this one doesn't quite. As for ETA's we can have that discussion on the Hybrid roster thread - this is redsfan's thread and is not the place to discuss it.

I am also a firm believer in community with these rosters in the sense of I am also wanting community participation in creating my rosters, whether it is grunt work or actual input of ideas or information. I don't think all these spin off rosters are good for OS IMO. It is confusing for newcomers.

First of all, I'm not sure this is really relevant and I am apologizing in advance for further hijacking poor red's fan's thread here.

Secondly, I respectfully disagree with every single corner of rjackson's post above. Like, really strongly disagree with all of it.

In no way shape or form is any roster maker ever required to make their data/rosters public. We do this at our own behest when we feel the time is right, end of story. If people want it badly enough, they will do it themselves (like redsfan4life here has in a way). We do this for free under our own free will and because it's a hobby. To say that anything must be made public is absurd. This is not a FOIA-requestable issue. This is private property unless it's made public on purpose and I'm sorry to see the out-of-control entitlement mentality these days. Why should roster makers be treated like/thought of as unpaid employees because someone is not quite enjoying their video game enough? How is it not a community just because the rosters don't come out on your timetable?

Thirdly, a community is not only about taking and feeding the bottomless pitted monster. A community will not function properly if there is only whining, expectations, and taking. Those roster makers who are willing to put in long hours for nothing other than the satisfaction of making something good (there are many such guys on here) and that people will enjoy when it's ready; why is that wrong? Because someone's impatiently waiting/refreshing their screen? C'mon, that's ridiculous. As for the OS'ers "afraid to post" for fear of being "yelled at", I'd suggest that they grow a spine (insofar as TOS will allow, of course) and speak for themselves, but we really don't need more ETA posts so nevermind that thought.

Bottom line, rjackson, although I respect you, you're just unhappy that I haven't shared my contract info spreadsheet with you like you've been PM'ing me about hence your soapbox speech in here. But it's this type of tirade/entitlement that makes people like me even less wanting to share stuff because I am not sensing any gratitude whatsoever, not even a faint morsel of it.

This post is ridiculous rjackson. While I agree it's kind of silly to get upset about people uploading OSFM/Hybrid fakes because it's a waste of time to get upset over something you can't control, it's absurd to use someone else's spreadsheets and name your roster pretty much what these guys have named their rosters for a few years now. That is called plagiarism my friend!

Who are you to say these guys should make the spreadsheets that they spent countless hours creating public? They put the work in, not you. The community is still acting as such. They don't have to even release these rosters to you. They can create it for themselves and be done with it. Instead they create a thread telling you what's forthcoming, and beyond that they are letting you know to be patient because the work is being put in but there is no way of knowing when it will be done until they're sure they're pretty damn close. There are no laws stating otherwise, am I wrong?

What cracks me up here is Redsfan being asked politely to name it something less confusing. Goes ahead and names it something really confusing then goes from being gracious of the sheets given to him to use and "just the guy doing the grunt work" to getting mad about his thread being hijacked over all the work he put in. From the sidelines now it sounds like he's taking full credit. He did do the re-rates, no doubt, but without the sheets given access to him, he wasn't doing this roster. He took the wrong approach to the feedback he received.

As far as people being afraid to post. They should post the correct type of content here and they won't be afraid. The guidlines have been set of they actually cared to read them. Let's weed out the members that just don't get it...

Ok I was gonna take my roster file down but that lost post from Threebs caused me to change my mind. I never thought I'd see the day where people here would be so condescending and rude. If I could change the topic title here I would. But there are literally DOZENS of roster files in the vault named Hybrid or OSFM or something similar to it. I put in nearly 36 full hours of hard work and all I've taken for it is grief.

Also saying I plagarize is HILARIOUS. I did tons of stuff much different than they did I'm sure of this, and created around a dozen players around the league that were missing. I put in the work.

You are looking at this in the wrong light buddy. If you don't see where you are wrong here than you need to do some serious searching. When I was young and stupid I used to be just like you. I thought I did no wrong and if people let me know how they felt about something that they were correct about I wouldn't hear anything about it. I grew up though. I'm guessing you're young and if you're not, I'm worried about you...
