No good roster out (IMO). Hopeful for 2016.

Don't know about anyone else, but there are no good rosters out on the vault which I can comfortably use for a franchise. The closest one I can find to being good is the realism set but even to me thats not perfect. The problems I am encountering the most are wrong ages, potentials, and overalls. For example, If I were to use the OSFM 2015 opening day set, then I would be playing with a 19 year old Correa, a 57 overall Michael Conforto, a 59 overall Blake Snell (rays), 82 overall deGrom with no higher potential (ROY and one of the best pitchers in baseball when Kris Bryant who hadnt even started yet was rated 83. And Arenado is another example... he ends up getting 40 home runs and hes a B rating and below a 90 overall. Austin Meadows a 49 overall???? How is he gonna make it to the big leagues until hes 25???? Granted, this was before the season ended and the stats played out, but even future rosters as far as ones coming out in November were unrealistic imo. Not wanting to bash anyone's rosters as they are made for free in peoples free time and all, but I just wanted to say cause I have not seen anyone else speak out that the rosters coming out, specifically the OSFM ones and ones by it's contributors have really degraded in quality over the past fears in my opinion. I hope that in 2016, the OSFM roster is better and I will be contributing like last year to the Yankees set. Some suggestions I have to improve the rosters:

-Make sure the age of every player is right before sending in (a lot of work cross referencing but we have a lot of contributors and this is not that hard). Found it shocking that people adding the 2015 draftees to rosters just completely forgot about the age thing and every draftee was a year over what they were. I believe the cutoff for age in the game is May 1 so for example Corey Seager turned 21 on April 27, thus he should be 21.

-Draftees coming out of college should never be in the 40 overalls and most likely never in the 50 overalls. How is a 21 year old with a 55 overall supposed to make it to the big leagues in 2 years?

-High school draftees, specifically ones picked higher in the draft should never be in the 40 overalls.

-Why is Josh Donaldson and Nolan Arenado B's for potential in some rosters??Donaldson is an MVP for christ sake.We need to give more A's and less B's. Found it shocking that some of the mets starters were given B overalls.

-Durability checks for players like Bryce Harper. 61 durability is a little drastic and almost always guarantees a 2 month DL every year in Franchise. Had a few franchises where young players careers ended due to injury's. Had correa and Carlos Gonzales retiring early in one year. Lets try to avoid this.

-82 stolen bases for Mateo (SS, Yankees) in minors and he has a speed in the 70's and greg bird is 59 overall at 22 years old.

Anyways, I think you get the point now with all the examples. I am not trying to be mean to anyone who submitted rosters for this version of the show, but its just been frustrating to find a perfect roster, and I have not seen anyone else voice the same complaints on these forums. Just want to get this out there and see what people think. Yes, I could have made my own roster, but its too late in the season at this point and I just want to make sure 2016's OSFM roster is good and I am looking forward to working on it hopefully with less stringent regulations, allowing contributors of certain teams (who also tend to be fans) to be more flexible and edit to what they think something should be since they probably have the best ideas since they are fans of that team. I think it is wrong to have to edit ratings/potentials to fit in with a overall roster wide system where there cant be certain ratings. I liked OSFM when it was more free/open. Let me know what you guys think.

I agree with you. Today I uploaded a set called THE PERFECT ROSTER 12/12 or something like that. My username is BIGSHAWN1738.

Check it out. It's not perfect, I've even made several adjustments since I uploaded it today but it is much more developed than anything out there.

Great roster. Just wish something like this could have been made earlier and backdated to opening day. Theres always next year I guess.

Correa's age is wrong though and you should change the stats of Gary Sanchez on the Yankees. He was Arizona Fall MVP and hes basically on the team, so a 59 is low.

You might need to lower your expectations if you're looking for the perfect roster. It's an incredibly time-consuming process that isn't for the fainthearted.

It's been well-documented that the OSFM opening day set was rushed out to get a roster into the hands of the impatient. Subsequent OSFM releases made necessary adjustments and continued throughout the season.

Perhaps you should look more at things that are done right and weigh that against the things that are wrong, then make your own adjustments.

Re: No good roster out (IMO). Hopeful for 2016.

I'm not a huge franchise player so I'm not really concerned if a 28 year old reliever in AA is actually 29 in real life, sure I would like them to be all 100% but I just don't have the time.

All I'm concerned with in my sets are accurate ratings and potentials. All ratings are stats based and I'm happy with my potential scale I have. All pitch edits are accurate and it's a good representation of real life and how players compare to each other.

                  Sorry your dissapointed.

I'm currently working on a 2016 roster. It's not ready yet but it will likely include:
-Up to date 40 man rosters
                          -Accurate Contracts
                          -Correct Pitch Repertoires from Fangraphs.com
-(Most) Top 30 Prospects from MLB.com
-Edited potential ratings to help slow regression for some players
                          -More accurate ratings
-Updated Equipment for almost every player
-Lots and lots of new CAPs
BFR's future is still TBD, stay tuned for updates

I love your roster, but yeah the age thing bothers me. Thats just my thing though, most people including yourself don't care about the age thing. I just cant get past it - my own problem. I just hope that next year for OSFM we can maybe delay the release and work harder on it as a larger group effort.
