Just a piece of advice to those asking about the roster ETA: Just hang tight a bit longer. As a disclaimer I have only used OSFM last year but I have paid attention to the roster for many years now.

I know you guys aren't trying to be disrespectful in asking and I know some of the creators take offense when it is asked but just wait a little bit. I can promise you they wont be available day 1 but I can almost guarantee you there will be an update within a week of the release on the progress of the roster.

In previous years there has even been a google spread sheet for people to track the progress. I timed my purchase of the game last year around that spread. I asked about that spreadsheet earlier in the thread and I would assume it will be back this year.

There is less to do but still much to be done, so the spread will be the best way for the creators to communicate while allowing us as fans to keep up with the progress

I know guys don't mean anything when asking.
I've really got no problem with it at all.
I usually do the doc with the progress...but really....until we know what shakin' with the new version....it's a big guess.

I wasn't talking to you in particular Knight but I've seen in the past those questions upset some. I just thought the people asking may like to know there will likely be a way to track progress if they are going to wait to buy the game or something.

Just wanted to clarify something previously asked and answered in the thread (sorry!). Someone asked about guys like Syndergaard and other guys that had to be made on last year's game, but that are obviously on this year's version. Are those players going to be the actual game model, or is it going to be a custom made guy? I don't know what SCEA means, therefore I don't understand the answer lol. Thanks!

SCEA= Sony Computer Entertainment of America. Basically Sony San Diego made them....i.e. they are in the base version of the game that ships

So they showed some new equipment. You can now choose a Nike, UA, and Evoshield compression sleeve.

Batting glove logo color is tied to knuckle color (I wish it would be its own option)

Didn't see All Star mitts for position players, so the may be tied to catcher's only. (Maybe no mitts, just catcher gear)

New sunglasses options. Nike, Oakley, and UA. Generics are still n.

4 new shin guard options.

I think 6 elbow guard options.

They will be SCEA players.
We are importing missing players that we edited in '15....carry over to '16...export then import onto the MLBTS '16 rosters.

Depending on the version you use they become SCEA models.

That's what I thought but I had to ask because I heard someone talk about transfer the entire rosters over not just import/export players.

Nonetheless looking forward to April...

How could we?
We don't have the game.
We don't know if the attributes in last year's form will play out the same in '16....especially because it sounds like they changed the defensive side of the game quite a bit...
Did they slow down progression on pitchers?
Have they upped the progression of hitters?

...and the biggest question....
Can we still export players from a franchise after carry over and then import them onto a '16 roster?.....which if not....will mean we start from scratch.

You've been here a long time. You don't know how this works? If you are new to this than I apologize. But this is for everyone and I am sure this won't be the only time this has to be said, but the rosters will be done when they are done. Its impossible to put out a time frame right now. I am sure the guys will update everyone as they come along. They always do. Browbeating them about a date does no good whatsoever.

You asked when the roster would be out, before the game even came out. Let that sink in. The roster will come out when they're done with it. Having previously helped with the roster, it's incredibly frustrating to see people ask nonstop when the roster will be out, or complain why it's not out sooner. My job was simply to work on one team, and I didn't even do the faces. I can't imagine what Knight and Ridin go through. Give the creators time, it is always worth the wait. If you can't wait, I would simply suggest starting your own roster. There are plenty of top 100 prospect rosters that come out quickly from other people to hold over until release. Thankfully SCEA has helped (hopefully still) in speeding up the process for the roster. It takes time to make a quality roster.

I did my very best not to browbeat anyone. I just know this is the most common question people will have (including myself). And yes, I have been here a long time and I generally know how it works. But then again, I really don't know exactly how this roster is put together.

And I don't know how many people remember this but I used to make NCAA Football rosters back in the day before you could upload/download anything via the internet (NCAA 2002-2005). I used to get dozens of memory cards from all over the country, literally load the roster file onto the cards and mail them back to people that wanted them. I had hundreds of people asking me about times, who would be on the roster, who would not, etc., etc., etc. And I was always happy to answer the questions, no matter how many times I got them. But that's just me. I'm an obsessed sports video gamer. In the end, this is already completely blown out of proportion so for that, my apologies. I won't say another word about it.

Considering your experience with rosters, would think you would understand not to be asking for a release date, let alone before the game even is available.

Hopefully one year we can make it without anyone asking when the roster will be released.

I'm not sure what exactly you mean....do you mean adding players in?
That's not possible.
This roster is for guys starting fresh.....no way to use it for a carry over.

For the first time in a long time the Red Sox have one of the best picthers in the game, a decent lineup and a stacked minor league system. I am so overly excited for this years rosters to come out! Thanks for all the hard work
