I am really looking forward to these rosters. Just out of curiosity do we have any kind of update as to when we see them?

re: MLB on FOX: 2016 OPENING DAY ROSTERS RELEASED

I will be releasing the roster here in the next day or so. Today would have been my brothers birthday so I am taking some well deserve time off. There was a contest a few years ago by our own OS Armour & Sword where he was giving a free MLB THE SHOW 15 away anyways I posted what baseball means to me and wanted to share what I wrote with you guys here.

I think it might explain not just the passion and desire I have to do rosters, but also the story behind it all. I was hoping to have these released by today my brother's birthday was the main goal as this was when I thought I would be starting my 2016 franchise with my dearest closest friend Casey as we wanted to dedicate this season to my brother.

The reason I love baseball is probably the same as any other baseball fanatic, but I have a good story behind why I love the game and why I'm so passionate about it.

Me and my brother always played video games from Atari all the way up to dream-cast. My mom worked for Holiday inn for 20 something years my brother was a few years older than me, but he had epilepsy and someone had to be home with him. So that person was me. Although my brother had epilepsy and was border line mentally challenged he was a walking genius. He could answer any sport question you gave him, any stat, any record, he knew it all. To make a long story short we would sit in front of the TV for hours playing video games. I was probably in my teen age years - early twenties we played a lot of baseball games like world series on Sega, Ken Griffey Jr, but we fell in love with ALL STAR BASEBALL and I half to tell you when I first started playing I didn't know a lot about the players etc etc...but as we played year after year I begin to learn the game and learn the sport inside and out. We had so much fun together playing game after game using the Astros of course.

My brother loved his hometown teams and So do I, I can remember when the Astros were opening there new stadium from playing so many years in the Astrodome and my brother was so excited to go, but before the season began my brother passed away March 25, 2000 and we never got to take him. I took me a long time to pick up a controller and play these video games as it always reminded me of him. As time went on the pain of losing my brother got a little easier but still found myself missing him everyday. I made it a dream/promise and a real passion to play a full baseball season in memory of him. I know my brother is up in heaven and looking down proud of where these games have gone and I wish he was down here to enjoy MLB THE SHOW with me.

I know this was probably a lot to read, but this is what baseball means to me and the real reason I choose to do these rosters. I am not a baseball player and never was, I spent my teenage and young adult years playing baseball games with my brother although he is no longer with me I can still play this game in memory of him and feel like he is sitting right next to me.

I just love everything there is about baseball from the stadiums, the players, the stats and the fans all around the country and I have my brother to thank for all those games we played, all those games we watched in person or on TV.

Glad to share the story and real reason behind my MLB on FOX Rosters. This is why I love baseball so much and maybe there are others out there with a similar experience.

Thank you for sharing this personal story Houston. I'm sure it wasn't easy to open up on such a public forum like this. I'm sure your brother would be proud of you and the great work you put into your roster(s). Nice work Houston, the light at the end of the tunnel is visible, all your hard work into this project is almost over.

First time poster, long time Lurker, created this account just to thank you so much for opening up to us about your life outside this forum. I'm just in awe about how you carry yourself about people trying to rush your work not even knowing the story behind it all.

Thank you again for everything you have done. I hope continue this tradition for you and your brother. I'm so deeply sorry about the loss of your brother.

re: MLB on FOX: 2016 OPENING DAY ROSTERS RELEASED

Hi Houston, as I feel for all the roster people out there, thank you for your tremendous dedication to this project! This stuff really makes the game awesome. Secondly, I want to thank you for sharing your story a few posts back regarding your brother. I'm sure it took a lot of courage to find some positive in a time when things were very bleak, and I commend you for that and giving back to the community. This brings me to the third item. I posted a thread yesterday about a certain type of roster I was looking for and somebody recommended you.

I am looking for a roster with changes to the equipment and pitch edits/repertoire. I ended up playing 75 full games with the hybrid ratings but didn't like the outcome. Team batting averages were real low and many players who play great IRL were awful in the season and it took away some immersion for me. Rather than changing sliders, I wanted a new roster as I also played 50 games with stock SCEA ratings before the hybrid came out and the stats ended up coming out by and large more true to what I've seen in the MLB, which is why I want to keep sliders intact.

"All SCEA players are being re-rated using the Live Series ratings and any created players added by SCEA will also get the Live Series Ratings. All other players not added by SCEA will have projected ratings added."

I guess real long story short, it appears you rerate players but don't use the same system as the hybrid ratings? I would like to start a new breathing franchise from opening day this year that I can roll over into MLB 17 The Show. Thanks!

                          JG,

He doesn't necessarily "rerate" the players. He's just applying all the ratings changes that SCEA applies throughout the year.

So basically you could say these are "up to date" SCEA ratings.

I've visited your other thread the other day and these are the best option out there for what you're looking for.

And might I say they're gonna be great!

Thanks for dropping in and hopefully I can answer everything pretty simple. I know exactly what your talking about with the hybrid ratings as I bought into that myself last couple of years. I even had my partner early in April rate all the real players originally using the 2015 Hybrid rating chart we had, but this is when we realized the huge difference how Nerf the ratings are compared to hybrid vs SCEA ratings. We set all the ratings back to SCEA ratings using the "LIVE SERIES" ratings this is when we seen a huge difference in the ratings and so glad we switched everything back. It was a small setback early on but we got thru it.

Now all 27 roster updates SCEA did this year every single player they added we have on our rosters with the same exact ratings, the batting stances, pitching motion SCEA gave to those players we have added. We even gave them the equipment SCEA gave.

And with the PITCH EDITS I decided to do my own version from what I had learned from seanjeezy in previous years. I used brooks to clarify the type of pitch it is but used SCEA break and control for every pitch I assigned, I even look up the player on older version of MLB THE SHOW to get control and break for players who were not on MLB 15 or 16. I did not give any pitchers the RFB although I use to enjoy using this pitch for players in the past, the reason I no longer use it is because when you do carry over franchises or export players from previous year all the RFB's get turned into 2 Seamers. I know there is several type of Changeups but decide to just give Circle Changeups, (CIRCLE CHANGEUPS are the most common change-up thrown) but there is a lot of pitchers that were given Vulcan Changeups who actually throw them, Forkballs, there some Splitters and Slurves etc. I google searches every single pitcher added to my pitch edit chart as well comparing there pitches. I chose to do things my way on my PITCH EDITS to keep things simplified.

Only players who do not have SCEA ratings are players who have not been called up. With my foundation these rosters there's a cycle as more players get called up next year then the next the more SCEA players ratings will be added. I would say already about 50-60% have SCEA ratings now.
