It is file and db management and they just choose not to do it. It would take a developer all of 1/2 day to write code to do this. I know the next year will have additional fields that they put in for player attributes database. No biggie. Include them in the data import and make them all a standard value that the user can then edit to what they want.

For example, if a new field is introduced next year for, let's say, languages spoken (silly, I know)...then in the player data import shell just include the field and put the standard value of "English" in...or whatever. We could then change it. This way, the new version would bring forward all previous data as well as have the new fields available that would be included in the new version of the game.

That's all it really is...but they choose not to consider.

I'm not sure where you got the idea they don't want to consider it.
They actually already have....and it might even be on the plate for '17 I would think.

Re: Turn Back the Clock: 1985

Last year's MLB 15 Version, a couple months prior to the games release, over on theshownation.com website I had a conversation with one of their moderators about this Roster to Roster Version transfer. I can't remember his name and I think he has since left the company or taken a different role with SDS --- Oh, I think it was Victor_SDS.

He said he would check with the staff which he did and reported back stating that it would be a very simple thing to accomplish but it would require an interface update/change which would take a little while thus it wouldn't make the initial MLB 15 release but likely would be in the first update or so of MLB 15.

Well, I kept waiting for it but as you know it never arrived.

But the essence of what I am writing about is that it is truly a very simple function to incorporate into the game which they have completely ignored.

I've asked multiple times and the response has always been "not including that", No reference for them ever including in follow on years. Anything is possible I guess but their track record does not inspire confidence in this one specific area. Yes they add carry forward franchises...but not rosters.

I'll be honest.....I don't think you're paying attention to their track record if that's what you are thinking.

-When asked how they could make sharing rosters easier for users ....we said a central place to upload and download the files.
          --ROSTER VAULT
-When they realized the sharing of files was important to us...they expanded with the PLAYER VAULT
-The jump to PS4 brought enormous work for the stadium guys....and when the load was lessened they surprised us with the return of classic stadiums for the PS4(they easily could have just worked on a few more versions of ST or minor league stadiums...something MOST players would say they wanted, but they try and please everyone including we historical season nuts
-and the already mentioned by you Y2Y carry over saves which was not a front runner in their minds as important....but they heard the community as a whole as wanting that...so they worked on making it happen.

IDK...maybe I'm always looking for the positives.

I mentioned franchise saves in my post. Bottom line is we do not yet have roster saves. They add lots of things in many areas...agreed. However, we do not yet have roster saves.

It may be too early to speculate, but do you think Rickey Henderson & Dwight Gooden will be a 99 OVR?
And if so, do you anticipate that they will be the only 99's?
I suppose Wade Boggs could be a 99.

                    Gooden is completed.
                    He is indeed a 99.
Ricky and Boggs are not yet done...but I'm fairly certain they will be 99's as well.
                    In 14 teams completed....there are 3 99's
                    Gooden
                    Hershiser
                    and Guerrero
John Tudor comes in at a 97 and George Brett and Velenzuela at 95.
                    Steib and Saberhagen at 92.

Probably be a little fine tuning when all teams are completed...but they'll be around there.

The shame is you can actually make the Expors logo and Jersey in that diamond dynasty crap...but sim players dont play that mode, and it cant be used with classic rosters.

                            Thank you and thank you!

                            It's moving along nicely.

I'll definitely give an E.T.A. as I get closer to 20 teams completed.
Right now I'm just finishing up the 16th...the Cubs.

I'm having a blast just playing the "practice" games(so I can see what needs what for the punch list when I'm done).

Some nights I can punch through a ton of players and some not so much.

Work is a little nuts still....so I squeeze in editing whenever I can.

Is there a chance we see a WIP roster that we can play a playoff with? Anyways, love to see if I can repeat with the Tigers when finished.

I will....but I didn't start from the top teams ......I actually took the 1975 set and have been importing over the players with the players from my Roster Control franchise that I'm exporting the correct stat players from.
I will have to finish four teams to give you a playoff set(in the parameters of the 2016 setup)

I do have 5 of the top teams done(St. Louis/New York/L.A.N......Toronto/K.C.) which would leave us needing California(L.A. A.) to be done for the top team in each (current) division.

I'll have the Cubs done tonight and will then do Cali and the Tigers next.
