Re: Spreadsheet - 40 Man Rosters with Injuries

I am halfway finished a roster that will have all 40 man rosters (edited to include 60 day DL guys) to my discretion (you can always edit as you please).

Plus edits to the 40 man roster attributes (the lesser players) and fixes to the ratings mentioned in the main OSFM thread. I have deleted any duplicates that I have noticed. Will be done by tomorrow night.

      OK noob question...

Can someone please give me (and any other folks who may be in the same boat) a step by step walk through on how to use this spreadsheet to make 40 man rosters out of the OSFM rosters to use in Franchise mode?

Please be as detailed as possible.

      Thanks in advance.

You add the players in light blue, yellow, or red (should = 15 players not in the MLB, or injured) to the 25 man roster already provided by OSFM. That gives you a 40 man roster.

Or download 40-Man Rosters by TSpence09 and just add the guys highlighted in red before you start your franchise.

          Thanks.

That's what I was kind of thinking but the more I read all these threads the more confused I got.

One other thing...any ETA on when you'll have the NL side of the spreadsheet completed? No rush...just wondering.

          Thanks again.

I'm currently working to get an updated 40-man roster with edits to some 40 man roster player's attributes, plus 60 day DL guys added, uploaded to the vault by tomorrow afternoon.

After that, will finish the NL part of the spreadsheet. Should be done early this week for sure.

Nor should you. The corrections I saw were mostly people nitpicking, and one of them (Jorge Alfaro of the Phillies) was someone complaining about a 0 blocking rating, which SCEA gave Alfaro since he was not a OSFM creation. Ridin already made it clear they weren't touching ratings in the first version.

                So yeah, nitpicky stuff lol.

I used your spreadsheet and uploaded an update 40 man roster using OSFM 1.5 for those who are interested.

Can you explain to me the point in making a 40-man roster to use in a franchise? Wouldn't the lineups and everything be screwed up by the time you get to opening day after simming Spring Training? Why not just start a franchise with the 25-man and then add the other 15 before the season starts?

Lineups get screwed up no matter what after you end spring training. Reason is because the 40-man roster only has 25 players for all 40 teams, which means that the CPU is in charge of putting their players on the 40 man. It will result in players becoming available in the Rule 5 draft that never would be IRL and just messes up trades and free agents.

Not according to what everyone was saying in the OSFM thread. If you run the 25 man, then sim Spring Training with 30-team control, the lineups will stay in tact.

Yea if you're playing 30 team control and want everything exact as the real league then sure, 25 man roster through ST then edit all teams after ST (you can use the spreadsheet).

If you don't play 30 team control and like seeing a the variability that makes your franchise unique then download the 40 man rosters and you're ready to start.

I should have my update ready to go later today.

This is gonna be a noob question, but I'm completely new to the show and still learning baseball. Is this the kind of roster I can use for RTTS? From what I understand, the regular 1.5 doesn't have complete rosters right? So for a mode like Rtts I should be looking for an upload like this correct? Or am I wrong lol. I just wanna start my new rtts

So can you use 30-team control and on opening day make it so the rest of the season is automatically controlled by the CPU? That way things like trades are possible? I'm trying to figure out the best way to do things. I want my franchise to flow, but I want opening day to mirror real life.
