Just had the displeasure of facing Ethan Kintzler for the first time. I don't think I've ever been that off balance in the box before. Way behind on fastballs, way in front of his slow stuff. It was certainly a fine display of pitching... 13 strikeouts over 8 innings , only 3 hits allowed (all of which were of the blooper variety). We lose 5-1.

Even though it sucks to get dominated, it's cool to see one of the roster sets actually come in and dominate and just FEEL like an ace. Right from the get go it just was obvious he was 'on' and getting anything going was going to be a challenge.

I felt like I struggled to feel this at all so that was part of the goal for 2020. Add legitimate aces so there's two dudes this year that didn't exist in 2019 (Kintzler & Cartwright).

Kind of bummed I had to rename Andy Sacramento. Cool name but Sacremento isnt in the name audio library. Was going to just call him Andy Sackboy but that seemed like a slight on his talent.

I'm curious, what did you change it to? Is he on your team?

I've gone back and forth on changing it...I don't want to limit myself to only using names in the audio bank but I also want the roster to be pleasing to all the senses so there isn't a great middle ground. Sacramento will likely stay the same and tons of players you won't ever see in the majors will have unique names as well.

As coincidence would have it, Cartwright was on the hill for me, so it was quite the showdown. I actually thought I might have the chance to win 1-0 as we did score first and I was in a groove with Cartwright.

But I still cannot seemingly manage to get through a game without giving up a homer or two with Cartwright. They took the lead back on a two run homer by their 9 hitter ... With a 37 power (I think last name Newman?) ....

Then Mack Slade put it out of reach with another two run homer on a ball I hung once Cartwright's stamina was into yellow, trying to get him through the 7th.

I really don't know what it is .. I can dominate on the mound with Tony Taylor ... And even seem to on average turn in better games with some of my other starting pitchers .. Aaron Reynolds, Brady Journell.. I just can't seem to avoid homers with Cartwright. Getting to the point I'm trying to sim some of his starts so I don't completely torch his stats.

He's just Andy Aardsma now.

I'll probably change it back though and deal with it being quiet. Or just go with the silly last name audio of Sackboy, lol. No he's not in my team so I don't have to deal with the blank commentary for him all the time.

Yeah I see a lot of cool names I know aren't in the audio library I think for Fukanori Kodeyashi I just gave him the audio of Nori Kobeyashi since it sounds close enough.

Just downloaded these rosters last night and I’m having a blast with them. I just finished a game as the Yankees and hit a no-doubter with their first baseman, Krostopher something (can’t remember the last name but the guy is a beast). Anyway, his home run trot consisted of a cartwheel between first and second, a bunny hop with the third base coach, finished off with a leap frog with the on deck batter. I almost fell over laughing. Game wise, I was down one headed into the bottom of the 9th. Hit a leadoff homer to tie it, then following a sIngle and a walk I slapped an opposite field single to right to score the winning run. Overall one of the most intense, fun games of the Show I’ve ever played.

It’s so engulfing to not have any attachment to the players (yet). I had to check every player’s info before each at bat and pitch them accordingly. The game I mentioned before was tied in the 7th inning. The cpu had 2 men on and no outs and I was able to escape with no runs scored, using my bullpen who I had no idea who anyone was or what their abilities were. It really intensified trying to get out of that jam.

What sliders do you all use for this rosters?? Thinking about trying them out...I have legit started like 10 different franchises with regular mlb rosters and just can’t get myself to commit to one....idk why or what it is but it’s driving me crazy! Heard great things about these rosters but am just curious if there are any other ground rules I should know before using them.

Only ground rule is have fun. Not having real world baggage attached to how you think a player should be performing is the best part.

What sliders do you all use for this rosters?? Thinking about trying them out...I have legit started like 10 different franchises with regular mlb rosters and just can’t get myself to commit to one....idk why or what it is but it’s driving me crazy! Heard great things about these rosters but am just curious if there are any other ground rules I should know before using them.

Seconded. I’ve been playing with these Rosters for a while now and I think any slider set that’s close to Default allows Bacons work with the ratings to shine.

Hey Bacon, first year using your rosters and I love them!

Little idea, not sure if it exists in your roster somewhere already, but I thought it’d be a good storyline to include a father-son combo (like the Griffeys back in the day). Especially like a SS and 2B on the same team.
