Re: Bacon's Fictional Roster
I haven’t played in a few days. I blew my last game in the bottom of the 9th and needed a little break hahaha. Up one run, I bring in my rookie shortstop as a defensive replacement. One out double puts the tying run at second. Next guy strikes out then a 2 out grounder and my SS airmails the throw into the seats. Tying run scores, wining run on second with 2 outs. Next hitter hits a liner to left for what should have been the final out but my left fielder tried a shoestring catch and dropped it allowing the winning run to score. Wasn’t scored an error but definitely a ball that should have been caught.

Re: Bacon's Fictional Roster
I'm currently working on an alternate version of the roster and will be releasing it at some point in the offseason. This will be a roster like no other that I have done but will still have the Bacon flair all of you are now used to.
I am also curious as to how many of you would be interested in participating in an Online League at some point next season IF SDS gives us the option to use custom rosters in their custom league mode. Send me a PM on here or a DM on Twitter and I'll create a preliminary list.

Alternate roster?! I'm almost done with my current season and don't want to be caught in the middle of a season when The Show '21 drops. This might be good in between thing to keep the skills sharp. Can't wait."Listen son, you only have enough runs when you’re showering after a win."Comment

Re: Bacon's Fictional Roster
In all the years I’ve played the Show I hit for the cycle today for the first time ever. And I did it with my catcher Clark Pike. Luckily I got the triple first, followed by the single, then homer and finally the double. Very rewarding.

Re: Bacon's Fictional Roster
I'm excited to give these a shot in my new franchise. With 162 games in a baseball season, it's always been tough for me to finish more than a season prior to the release of the new game, and then I want to start a new franchise due to all of the roster changes during the real offseason. Having fictional rosters should help with that urge and give me the opportunity to continue the franchise each year with the carryover save.
Appreciate all the time and effort that has been put into these!Comment

Re: Bacon's Fictional Roster
So after all my recent closer woes I finally had to pull the trigger on a trade, sending free agent signing Woody Rockwell and 2 prospects to the Giants for their closer Seth Clark. The trade paid off immediately as Clark pitched a perfect 9th inning against the resilient Mariners, who had come back in the 9th inning the previous 2 games, once to tie in a game I eventually won in the 10th, and once to score 6 in the 9th to take the lead and win 7-5. I am currently on the 4th of July in my season and sit 4 games behind the Blue Jays for first in the AL East. Had it not been for the plethora of blown saves I would probably be ahead of them by 4 games. The immersion factor with these rosters is amazing.

Alright Bacon, what’s with the Blue Jays and their starting staff pitching like Cy Young? [emoji23] I just got shut out in back to back games and looked really bad doing it. If I swept them I would have taken over first place. But I lost 2 of 3 and am now 2.5 games back with 3 games left before the all star break. Plenty of time left in the season but man do those shutouts sting.

Re: Bacon's Fictional Roster
The only game I won (and only game I scored any runs in) was against Palmer. I was patient and was able to drive up his pitch count and get him out of the game in the 6th. I had a lead late but blew that (shocker) and eventually won in the bottom of the 10th, but Ortega was FILTHY. He was pounding the strike zone all game and forced me to swing at garbage. I only managed 3 hits that game and never had a runner reach second base while striking out 14 times.
