I noticed that some of the P types who have strong hitting abilities can't be edited positionally out of their P roles and into full time fielding/hitting roles. Am I doing something wrong here, or is this just a feature of the roster management system?

I'm wondering if those types will ever develop as hitters if their primary position is P.

I don't believe their actual attributes progress/regress. You can manually add them to your lineup in the pre-game screens and any pinch hitting opportunities but MLB20 doesn't have position changing or learning capabilities beyond that yet. So obviously, two way players are another thing I am really hoping gets expanded upon moving forward.

Any idea on when the update is gonna release? Im thinking about starting another franchise since ive done some work on my fictional teams and trying to decide whether to wait or not,

Bacon, that’s great news I’m looking forward to this one as well. The update was my most played Roster last year. Will it be the same format with just your creations? Against my better judgement I’m going to start a Universal DH Franchise and use a NL team.

Yes, the plan is that I'll be removing all/most of the fillers. I'll talk about this a bit more later.

Any updates Bacon? I'm holding off on a fictional franchise until your new rosters drop. I took your old roster and made edits to the NL Central, East, and a few West teams. (Mainly I edited some of the guys that had Bryce Harper noses as I refer to them, LOL, and imported some guys from an old fictional set I worked on a few years ago to add some personalization.) Had planned to do the whole league but it got to be too time consuming so I stopped. I appreciate your work. Takes a lot of time and patience for a project like that. I was happy to see that you have a new update releasing soon.

Yeah, I posted details about the update on my Twitter which I'll link at the bottom of this post and I'll provide the transcript as well.

"This year's update for Bacon's Fictional Roster is coming earlier than last year due to COVID-19 and the insane increase of free time I had this spring that I poured into this roster. Details will be listed in this thread below. #BaseballisBetter

There are over 200 new players added in this update. Some have already been uploaded to the player vault as they were created where some are players that you have never seen before.

The players I added in this batch consist mainly of AAAA type players and longer term prospects with higher potentials. Some of these will be very obvious and some will take some digging. Should be easier for NL teams to fill the DH spot now if you choose to go that route.

The SCEA randomly generated filler MiLB players have been removed. They have been replaced with as many players as I could make AND 1 overall New Pitchers/Fielders.

I added all the Rule V draft picks back to their team's 40-man rosters so they won't be stuck in AA/AAA. Players are: Vote(BAL), Weaver(TOR), Stephens(MIN), Ortega(OAK), Sexton(TEX), Salazar(ATL), Pittman(MIA), Owens(PHI), McDonald(PIT), Stanton(StL), Sharp(SD) & Russo(SF).

Some faces (especially noses) and skin tones have been reworked for select players that seemed too big or too tan. These edits will continue in future iterations.

More Easter Eggs have been added for you to find.

The #21 has been "retired" throughout the roster in honor of Roberto Clemente. #buccos

Contracts have been touched up a bit including me adding a few more bad contracts which could add another layer when trying to deal with morale or budgets.

Equipment has been touched up a bit just to update as I have done in the past.

I moved players around to craft All Star teams for both leagues. Not all the best players are on either team but each league has at least one team represented as per real MLB All-Star game rules. This will only work in Play Now.

There will not be a companion spreadsheet for this update. The next companion sheet will be March/April for when BFR2021 is uploaded.

All of the logos I used for my full 30 team rebrand have been in the vault for a while. They will remain available all year long. DM me if you want/need help recreating any.

DM or tag me with any questions you have about this roster, any of my other rosters or any future MLBTS work. I'm more than glad to talk about any of it.

And lastly, I will be creating a Venmo or cash app or something for anyone who would like to donate. This is obviously not required but all is appreciated.

I'm definitely going to DL and rate, but I've got to resist the temptation to delve too deeply. I'm only 16 games into my Franchise but I drafted my team... If not for that, restarting wouldn't even be a question! I'm already tempted and I haven't seen them yet! 😁
