The players look great as always and the ratings look a little more even distributed than last year, it seems like the players are heavier and there are more power hitters this year. Also, one suggestion, I can totally get the cheeky nicknames of some of the players, but when they're too cheeky, like say 'Mo Money" its can break the immersion of playing in a new league. Just a thought for the update. I will uprate the roster and totally appreciate the work you do.
You can go in and edit any player on any of the 30 teams since none are real MLB players. So if you don't like a guys name or hair or batting stance, etc... you can change it to your liking.

The rumors are true! The 40 man version of my roster was uploaded to the roster vault on MLB 21 on Thursday afternoon and it is titled "Bacon's Fictional 40" The goal for the next version, a 65 player count, is yet to be determined but I will post about it once I come up with a tentative date for release!

The vaults are indeed cross platform so it shouldn't matter which of the four consoles you have The Show on, you can play with the most recent roster!

I had questions about this. There's obviously 40 BFR guys per team, plus a number of classic BFR names in FA.

When you think about attrition during a season against the roster pool for each team + FA + the handful of guys who get added via the draft, is there enough resources for endogenous team growth, or is it likely that teams will struggle to maintain a roster of 35-40 players?

I ask because if the math and sims have been worked out and a 40 man base really can carry the show for a bit, Things would seem more tenable for a 40 man genuine franchise experience.

              Re: Bacon's Fictional Roster

I started a franchise with the 40 man rosters. Simmed the first season and most teams have 65-70 players. The problem you run into is teams with fewer than 15 SPs total. They won't keep more than 3-4 on their MLB roster. You can fix this by using 30 team control but it's a bit of a nuisance

As the reconstructing continues, we've have hit another benchmark. Therefore, Bacon's Fictional Roster (with 65+ players per team) has been uploaded to the MLB The Show 21 roster vault.

I downloaded it this morning. It was great seeing all of the regulars but nice touch adding a few new guys as well. I might try a fantasy draft to play until spring next year. Thanks again for all of the hours that you and your team have put into this roster.

One of my favorite players so far has been Homer Webster. A second baseman. The guy has a ton of contact but not much power. And on top of that he swing is unorthodox which makes it pretty cool. Definitely a helluva lead off hitter!

Won my first ever World Series with the fictional Pirates! Went down 3-0 to the Mariners in the series then fought back to win the next 3, all games were close and could have gone either way. Game 7 I lost my starter, Benny Wells in the second inning to an injury while pitching on short rest and needed to piece my bullpen together to get 24 outs. Luckily the most lopsided game of the series was game 7 and when I jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the 6th I knew I was in good shape. Tacked on more runs late and ended up clinching with a 12-1 win. This was easily my most fun season ever playing the show.

I’ve been seeing people talk about these rosters for a few years now. I’m actually going back to 20 now, after playing 21 for nearly eight months lol. I guess my question is what would the benefits to use a fictional roster over a real roster. Definitely interested to start a franchise with these.

                              1. More realistic (much better ratings spread and more true platoon guys)
                              2. More stable in franchise (i.e. the ratings/potentials are not jacked-up)
                              3. No pre-conceptions. Comparing to "real life" doesn't matter at all.
                              4. Minimal foreknowledge - it forces you to really dig into players and scout them
                              5. You get to create the storylines.

How do these rosters play with incoming draftees? Do those players need to be edited to keep in line with the rosters?
