Quick question for you guys...it was late last night and my mind was about gone, but I noticed quite a bit of high ERAs for RPs. Did you run across this in your test sims?

Also, a random stat I ran across in one of my sims was Carl Edwards with 17 wins out of the bullpen in only ~80 innings...talk about crazy!

I could see that for Edwards. If he's the long man and the rotation struggles, he could be the pitcher on record when the offense turns on in a lot of games. Seems crazy unlikely, but I could see it happening.

One of the [several] things that SDS does right with this game is they build variation into the sim engine. Sure, Mike Trout may lead the league in WAR 3 or 4 times out of 5, but you are likely to see some nice variability in who gets injured in this sim and who hits 50 homers in that sim. And even while all of that is going on, if you look at things closely enough, the team- and league-wide averages remain remarkably consistent.

Amazing roster. Once I got over the fact that guys like Lance Lynn are in the mid 60's (which in my head I know is true), and the big number of debuts of top prospects, this is without a doubt the most organic experience I've ever had. Did a fantasy draft, no problems whatsoever (I even got Mike Trout, something that never happens because he's always in the top 3!). I adjusted some of the prospects that I know to be a little better or worse based on research (Magneuris Sierra being a great example, he has a sprint speed equal to that of Byron Buxton but doesn't qualify for the leaderboards) and it just flowed. Love the statistic based ratings with no jockeying to fidget with overall ratings.

Also, the pitch edits are insane. Just fantastic work all around man.

Haven't decided on that yet. Keeping up a thread is a lot of work. I may just post periodically in the 'how's your franchise going' thread.

I'll say this, it is amazing playing with this set. The big difference in ratings play a huge role and make the games more enjoyable. I'm even playing on default sliders, batting on all-star and pitching on hall of fame. Good stuff!

Started my Mets franchise with this roster. Since using this set I have seen things in game I hadn't seen before. It literally feels like playing a whole new game now!!!

I'm not 100% sure about what you're asking, but I think you're asking about making changes to a roster file and then having those changes also automatically reflected in an already existing franchise file? The answer to that question is no.

Another way to interpret this question...if you update player likenesses by editing their faces or equipment within your franchise file, then yes that will be in your franchise.

The key point being that once you start a franchise with a given roster, you are stuck with that roster in that franchise.

This. Yesterday I played the most real feeling game I’ve ever had in my fantasy draft franchise.

I had the bases loaded in the first (or second, can’t remember), Thanks to an insane play by Simmons to turn two, I didn’t score. Fourth, same story, but with a pop up and another out. I’m getting a little worked up, because before, this used to routinely happen, completely unnatural things happen to thwart my rallies because of the clutch rating.

Then the cubs scored one, and I was down. Generally in the late innings I can’t put anything together plus I had just won two and figured it was all over. but I played on. In the seventh, they brought in a reliever that was wild. I got a single with Frazier and drew a walk with Piscotty. Then it happened. Mike trout hit a texas leaguer over the first baseman, scoring Frazier. Jay Bruce worked a deep count and got a fastball right down main street and hit a bomb to right center. Then it was a series of walks and hits that saw me explode to an 8 run inning. I’ve never seen this mix of hard hits and soft ones, singles, doubles, ground balls and fly outs. And what’s more, i was never allowed to have 8 run innings before thanks to the clutch rating.

I’m leading the charge. Abolish the clutch rating!

Wtny, I am on board with this project. This is the new hybrid roster for me. Amazing, amazing work.

I'm just using default all star hitting and default hall of fame pitching.

I'm noticing this as well. I'm seeing a really nice distribution of hard hit balls and weaker hits. I've seen a pleasant uptick in balls that get just by the infield or balls that just barely fall in front of charging fielders.

I think this due in part to the unique fielding ratings of the set. There are more player "types" with wider differentiation and are generally fewer guys in the + category for range and glove and arm. There are lots more guys with limited range but a good arm, or good range but a limited arm, or none of the above.

I also think the clutch rating opens things up by not adding artificial boosts to pitchers with guys on base or batters with RISP.
