Re: OSFM 2018 “Opening Day Version” Available Now
2. Don't expect the roster to drop a week after release like before. Like i said we will be taking some time with the set for a couple of reasons. Trying to avoid mistakes and there will be a ton of missing players that we will have to create. This takes massive amounts time and people so be patient.
Maybe I get it and do some test franchise to get a feel if there has been a change to progression and or team logicLast edited by Therebelyell626; 02-27-2019, 12:41 PM.Comment

Re: OSFM 2018 “Opening Day Version” Available Now
Thanks for the info showtyme. If that is the case I may just wait a month to pick up my copy. No point in having a game I won't play. Looks like I will be getting a few more miles out of NHL 19 this year.

Re: OSFM 2018 “Opening Day Version” Available Now
I do feel the need to point out one thing though, and it’s the reason I don’t do carry over franchises. Any new players this year that were created players last year do not update with face scans. So if Vladimir Guerrero has a face scan in 19 he would still be the created version from last year when you carry over franchises. At least this was the case someone could easily prove me wrong though.2016 NLL Champion Saskatchewan Rush

Re: OSFM 2018 “Opening Day Version” Available Now
Thanks for the info. Assuming I start a franchise in 18 with my custom roster and carry it over to 19, is there any way to use that roster in other modes, like play now? Or would it only be usable in franchise?Comment

Re: OSFM 2018 “Opening Day Version” Available Now
Caufield can correct me if I’m wrong but I believe you have to do it as a carry over franchise. So start a franchise on 18 then import that franchise into 19.

Re: OSFM 2018 “Opening Day Version” Available Now
Maybe you can elaborate a little bit more?
Now if you're trying to just import the players from your franchise into a roster on 19 then yes, they will be rookies unless you sim and get correct service time. In order for you not to get get the rookie Icon the player has to exceed rookie limits. To achieve this in the show you have to sim for correct service time, send the player to the minors and remove him from the 40 man roster. You must then sim to the begining of the off season and tender him a contract (if he needs it) once it's tendered sims a few days then go to the CPU ROSTER CONTROL tab and export him out into your 19 roster. He will no longer have the rookie icon next to his name as long as he exceeded the rookie limits obviously.
Hope fully this helps and makes sense.Last edited by ShowTyme15; 03-03-2019, 11:34 AM.Comment

Re: OSFM 2018 “Opening Day Version” Available Now
Ok for example. If you grab a current roster in the vault and start a franchise right now and use it in a month your gonna have acuna going for rookie of the year with vlad jr.
And if you skip till 2019 with both players grab won’t be rookies in 19. See what I mean?
The only way is to get a old osfm from April
Last year then skip the year then make the moves yourself. So that guys like vlad won’t get service time. It’s a lot of work and we can’t share franchise so
Each person has to do it.
Plus all players missing turn generic another major issueComment

Acuna would be going for rookie of the year if you started a franchise today and carried it over cause you would still be in the 2018 calendar year so that makes sense man. Maybe the way you are trying to explain it I just don't understand, cause the feature works the way it is supposed to. I can get MLB 19 and have Acuna not be a rookie (exported from 18) and Vlad Jr. still be a rookie and in the running for ROTY.
Players turning generic was a given considering the MLBPA and it's rules. Nothing Sony can do there, but they did make it easier to copy faces. Yes, it is time consuming, but that is the trade off.
EDIT: Unless what you're trying to say is the CPU adding these guys (or not adding them) to the 40 man roster, then yeah the only way to prevent it is with 30 team control and you control the call ups and send downs for the CPU. This would only be useful if you're trying to keep your franchise as close to real life as possible.Last edited by ShowTyme15; 03-03-2019, 05:19 PM.Comment

I'm still confused my man. The whole point of the carryover save is to continue where you left off.

But if you can't import players into a franchise file.. (I wish we could!)
So if I was to start a franchise now RIGHT this minute; Acuna will be a R and so will Vlad Jr.. and if I choose to carry over to MLB 19 they both still will have a R next to their name. because the REAL Acuna in MLB 19 won't be linked to the created one from MLB 18.
I know it works the way it is suppose to but that is only if you started your franchise back in April last year and are up to a year that isn't 2019. if you chose to start something now. you would be stuck with Acuna still being a rookie. Unless you skipped a year to 2019 season. but if you do that you would still have to pretend it was the year 2018 and Vlad hasn't had any at bats.
What I am trying to say is no matter what you do now to start a franchise file Acuna will be a R. unless you skip a year and do the export import trick, that takes time though and you can only do this for created players. so you wouldn't be able to do this with Andujar for the yankees. Unless once again you started that player from scratch, taking loads more time. and losing his audio name and story etc.
There is 2 ways of options I wish we could do to get around this and 1 is to be allowed to add service time to ANY player. or have the option to simply skip a year in franchise. so everyone ages a year.
You could however grab a April roster from last year skip a season then spend days and hours making all the real life changes. the problem with this is retirements. and the fact you can't share that file to the community.
I must not be explaining it good lol
but anyway. that never really is a problem for the roster that you are busy making for this year. for MLb 19Comment

I think he saying using 2019 roster on the show 18 would Reddit on Acuna and VladJr being rookies at same time

Re: OSFM 2018 “Opening Day Version” Available Now
but to be honest with you the only reason is to have accurate rosters. if I can get the workarounds like I mentioned to be accurate I probably wouldn'tComment
