Re: OSFM 2018 “Opening Day Version”
Ridin, Not sure if this is the proper forum to post, but thought I'd introduce myself and possibly be of some assistance. First of all I've been an avid sports gamer for years (I'm 44 btw) dating back all the way to Microleague Baseball for some of the other dinosaurs on here. I'd played collegiately and just love baseball. I'm also a Portfolio Manager, so #'s and stats are kinda my thing. I've used the wonderful rosters from OFSM for years now and completely appreciate all the work you guys do here. But I read you intitial post where you talk about different scales being used for different teams, etc. What I do once the OFSM rosters are out is to take my spreadsheet, that I've been working on for literally years, and update all the ratings and attributes myself (to the tune of 45-60 hours of work) using the OFSM base. I think the elegance of my spreadhseets is that the ratings and attributes are formulaic, built & tested over years, and not subjective, even including difficult to define fielding & running stats (I use a hybrid of FanGraphs adbanced analytical stats for these). Everything is statistically based across the same template, with the only adjustements being downward adjustements based on a) level at which the stats were accumulated such that lower level league play (i.e minors, be it A, AA, AA, etc) values are discounted & b) ETA such that players with a longer-term ETA also get adjusted lower. Even for the Potential & ETA they are subjective as they are based each on Baseball America's beginning of the year view for ETA and potential using their 20-80 scale & top 100 ratings. I use a 3 running 3 year total of accumualted stats weighted 70/20/10 with the most recent year getting the largest weight (i.e 70%)& T-2 getting the least weight (i.e 10%). I also adjust for AB/IP for each year & at each level to take into consideration sample size. So for example if a player has exactly 600 ABs in each of the past 3 years, then his most recent yeear weight will be 70%*33% divided by the sum of 70%*33%, 20%*33% & 10%*33%, or 70%. But if a player only had 300 BAs this year, & 600 ABS in the prior 2 years each, then this year would only account for 53.8% of the toal ratings. I'm babblign now, but the point is if you are interested I'd love to share with you my spreadsheets for those inputting the edits for this year in an effort to create 100% objective consistency across the baord. If not, then I will once again wait for the incredible roster base from OFSM and then do the edits myself. The only caveat is that I would have to sned you the files on an SSD as the Hit file is whopping 50.78MB & the pitch file is a less cumbersome 32,94MB file, too big for email, and soemthing I've found even difficult for DropBox, even if zipped, given all the formulas with multiple precedents & dependent calcs. Anyway, though I'd offer my files, if interested. Best of luck and can't wait for OFSM to drop

Thanks but we have a base roster completed and rated.... feel free to redo it when it’s released but as far as us rerating everything again as far as I’m concerned that’s not happening as we have worked on this base since last year and I def don’t have time to invest in doing that. Like is said earlier feel free to do it yourself and good luck with it!

Re: OSFM 2018 “Opening Day Version”
Will you be doing with default contracts and/or real version?Really wish sports games played to ratings!
Only thing SIM about sports games now, are the team name and players
CFB 25 The absolute GOAT!!!
MLB 23 FOREVER 20 is better, 23 just for Guardians
Madden get rid of the extras (SS/XF, HFA, media, scenarios, game plan) or turn them down considerably.Comment

Re: OSFM 2018 “Opening Day Version”
As of now it will be sonys default contracts in $$$ and correct years until we test more and see how it plays out... also we will be testing the progression of the prospects in regards to retirement , if prospects Rated A and B don’t retire and prospects with low potential do we may have to adjust portentously scale slightly but that’s a wait and see.... we will make sure it’s good before release

Re: OSFM 2018 “Opening Day Version”
Wait, so the team is bigger that’s doing this than in years past?
And it will come the first week of the season? With batting stances?
Man, you guys are killer.
We all need to donate beer money for y’all.
Lol.
Incredible.
I can’t wait!

Re: OSFM 2018 “Opening Day Version”
Was at about 6 different camps this week alone. Many minor league players have sent me or are sending me equip lists and diff things to add to OSFM so this will be probably the most detailed we have ever released.
