Just curious.

Whenever a player is using white or grey, im pretty much putting it as TC3. Since very few teams have played Home/Away games so far, it's really hard to tell if they're switching it up.

hey guys hope im posting this in the right spot but quick question about the ridin rosters.. If i use these in franchise will the league stay balanced once i get a couple years into the future? What i mean is that i like to play my franchises for 10-20 years, but i feel like with some custom rosters too many players receive A potential and a few years into the franchise mode there are too many good players and then you end up starting a season with a bunch of 80s overall players in FA.. Has anyone noticed anything like this? I'm just looking for the best franchise experience and dont know whether to use these rosters or the default rosters.. Thanks!!

Quick question since I haven't updated MLB the Show in a few years. Are the OSFM (presuming these ones) generally the most accurate and recommended rosters to use? Also, how many versions will be released and approximately when will they be ready? I can be patient, just looking to have an idea so I know when I should view them as complete and ready to start a new franchise.

Yes these are by far the most accurate

Usually only a couple versions but other guys do their thing using OSFM as a base and can be quite good rosters.

No one knows when they will be ready and to save yourself, it’s not a good idea to ask. It’s no offense to you and I understand it’s a simple question but it gets asked so much that it’s turned into a hot button on OS. Best not to ask and just check the thread or even better follow RidinDwnKingsley on Twitter.

Update for you guys:

-Roster will include 40 man and all real players for each team
-FA list will have legends removed and include all real players as will the 1st Legend team which show up as generics in FA, so when you start a franchise ut will be all real players
-hundreds of faces redone, all the missing players from the initial sony update redone
-all contract extensions will be in
-Equipment will be done but not extensively until Scott takes it for V2
-Face shields put on guys as well as Mach helmets for those wearing them
-Top Prospect symbol assigned to all top prospects
-AAA as close as possible to accurate and AA will be 75% accurate in some cases more to accommodate top prospects m, A ball will have injured players and prospects as well
-most of this roster base has been worked on since last summer so its extensive, no generic faces
- This base roster is NOT taken from any other roster out there and will have the guys who have been imported over such as Buck Farmer etc
-We will release 2 versions, 1 with Acuna and Gurriel as is with zero service time and a V1.5 with Sony Caps replacing them with correct service time so pick which one you want

We are not done yet but follow me on Twitter as I will update you as we get closer, its days not weeks now but understand we have testing and checking to do, we want this to be as good as it can be... thanks to Showtyme, Ivanhoe, CwPalehose, Mungo, Motown and Cujo, Teeds as well as anyone else who has helped out.

OSFM for MLB 19

There may be a thread somewhere about this, but how are ratings calculated for CAPs? Or any player in general?

Like for home runs, if a guy averages 20 home runs a year, how do you know what power rating to give him? Same for speed, like Mookie Betts (I know he’s not a CAP) had 30 stolen bases last season, how would you figure out what to rate his speed?

I’m just wondering if there’s some sort of calculator type thing that these guys use, because I don’t want to rate anyone too high or too low which I know I do.

I hate to add to the litany of questions but I skimmed a few pages back and didn't see this discussed:

If I start a franchise mode with either V 1.0 or 2.0, will created prospects for whom Sony have scans for (i.e. Vlad) have their scans automatically updated within my franchise mode?

For example: I imported my 2018 Padres Franchise to 2019, several created prospects on an OSFM roster (i.e. Lucchesi) were updated to their real, Sony scans + motions/stances for 2019. I thought that was pretty neat, but not how it happened.

If not, I assume in a later OSFM roster once the official Sony roster update includes those players (Jimenez, Tatis Jr, Vlad Jr) will just replace the CAPs with tweaked versions of the official player.

Again, thanks to everyone for your hard work - offline players tend to be neglected in sports franchises and finding this forum was a godsend.

If you begin a franchise with a CAP of a player then they will not update when added by SCEA. However, if you import Vlad to a roster base when he is added and then begin a franchise, he's updated. Hope that makes sense. CAPS must be replaced with the official SCEA player. But you must start a new franchise as you can't import into a franchise file, only a roster base.
