The new OSFM 2019 MLB roster is out and has been for about a week. It is called OSFM 2019 Roster by JMoneySwag2448 who did a fantastic job with obtaining the complete ML player rosters but in most, if not all, the AAA and AA Minor League Affiliates as well. So no need to wait until summer. Play Ball.

Previous years there have been no edits to MLB SCEA players, so I'd assume it'll be that way this year too. They are left at default.

Ty Coop! Can you help me understand the benefits of this vs. the roster Ridin puts out? I think from what I understand, Ridin puts out a 25 man and you're taking his and making it a 40, is that correct? As a strictly offline franchise player, what are the pros and cons of each roster? I understand what a 40 man roster is, but I guess I don't understand exactly what the 25/40 man rosters differences are in a franchise mode. THANKS!

The primary problem is that CPU can react bizarrely to good players being left off of the 40-man. Injured players can take over a year to be promoted back up to the bigs, even superstars. The root of this problem is that the CPU is incredibly cautious to put new players on it's 40-man roster. Players can also entirely disappear in RTTS, though I'm not sure if that's still an issue this year.

Another small benefit is that it's simply a more realistic experience. Teams will have to carefully consider call-ups compared to when they have 15 open roster spots, since the move can have long term ramifications on the franchise. Plus, teams will have to deal with the consequences of bad players stuck on their 40-man roster. That sort of thing.

There's probably some other reasons I'm forgetting but that's the gist of it! It's always a highly requested version so last year I decided to give it a shot, and they get a decent amount of downloads so I figure there's gotta be an audience for it.

I agree completely with Tycoop. Here is how I set up my franchise..I know it's long winded and common info for alot of folks, but it could be helpful to some...#1 Before a spring training game is played, I create 2 profiles - mine (with all tasks set to manual) and a CPU one (with all tasks set to manual, initially) #2 - I go in and add all the best players to the 40 man roster for each team and promote them to the MLB Club. #3 - I turn Injuries off in the options #4 - I simulate to the last day of Spring Training #5 I turn Injuries back on manual and then go into each team and manually injure players ***You can just injure the players out for a significant time or you can add them all, including the 10 Day IL players*** (I recommend just the long term injuries due to limited roster size and limited IL positions in the game) #6 I turn all CPU Profile options back to Auto and turn Injuries ON in the options #7 I Advance to Regular Season **I let the CPU decide who makes the Opening Day 25 on all AI controlled teams. #8 I go into each rotation and make sure all teams have SPs in the rotation and make sure no team has a player in a long reliever slot (CPU will overuse them if this isn't done) #9 Each day I sim all other games on the daily schedule (without looking at the scores) before I play. This allows the ticker to provide you scores of the other games in progress while you play (immersion factor) #10 Wash, Rinse, Repeat except #11 I periodically check the rotations and watch for non realistic trades. I will also remove the unrealistic trade bait for other teams. (i.e if the Yankees put Stanton on trade block early in the year).....IRL contenders will not be placing top players on trade block early in the year.
