we are almost at 7 days to go guys! I love when we get to the final week before release it feels like Xmas to me.



Rockies Released Michael Saunders. any Rockies fans have any suggestions who to replace in that slot? It's getting more difficult updating roster because I can't create anymore players they are full. to move players around. it's getting to the stage of just waiting for 19 now.



Here is the plan.

once we get to midnight my game becomes active. I will export and import all the players across from 18 to 19, that need to be carried over. any team with a open slot for a prospect that needs to be created I will name them 'open slot' so we know that spot is open to import a player that needs to be created



Any missing Vets I will try and export and import back to the roster with correct service time. (the career stats may not be accurate if they are vets that have vanished that shouldn't have. Lets Pray we don't have a situation like the last 2 years when a player is missing. and he isn't exportable because he only appears in franchise not the roster (Matt Joyce 2 years ago) if this happens we have to create the player from dead scratch a real pain if this happens again, once again won't have accurate career stats if we have to do that.



Once I have done all that. we can begin pass the parcel around. each person can do a team or 2 make any changes add prospects. make faces for the missing vets. (if anyone gets the game early place check the missing players thread and add down on here which players are missing ahead of time.)



Just on that. who wants to volunteer for doing faces for any missing vets we will have? We really need someone dedicated to do this day 1. this is the most time consuming part of making the roster, the sooner we get onto that the better.



what I can do is you don't know how to is export the generic player from franchise and put him up in the vault for someone to edit the face. For example we know Billy Burns won't be in the game. he will turn generic.



I can sim to his correct service time and export him name him Billy Burns from the generic name he is given. and the face person only has to create the face upload back to the vault and I can import him in the roster.



Once pass the parcel is done and we have our 90 man rosters. we can release that to the vault as a Beta. for the community. to try out who can't wait, can tell us any mistakes we have. equipment changes hairstyles, errors etc.



meanwhile the next job is to do the re ratings.. which is a whole new project. which I am sure a few people will take on that role. and that is when we can release an official version of the roster.



I know in the past that Beta versions have never gone up before. and no doubt will take plenty of heat from mistakes and errors but that is the idea of releasing a Beta to everyone to tell us of any errors.

Thanks that will be great if you can come up with a spreadsheet and the teams those players are on, and upload it based on that thread.

I know I seen Nelson on a stream so we can cross him off the 50-50 list.

Your right this is the most time consuming part and frustrating when some are missing when they shouldn't be. Baltimore had about 3 guys on the 25 man missing last year!

Wouldn't starting with 19' launch roster or update opening week be much less work?

Do you only import the missing ppl?

Sounds like a great plan! I'm here to create any missing players that you need, I've gotten pretty good at it. Do you need me to make spreadsheets for any more teams?

Do you mean starting with the roster given by the developers? Someone earlier in the thread already gave us a great current roster which we can import as a franchise into the new game.

Yes by the developers.
& I had seen in thread. KUDOS to that man. I appreciate the dedication and effort. I'll be looking into it. But just from a Roster building perspective..

I mean 19 will have the scans , new commentary, contracts ..

Ya kudos to him, I'm blanking on his username. Hopefully everything works like in years past, but contracts might be interesting as that was the only thing they revamped for franchise mode. Let's hope that there aren't any issues with respect to contracts.

Ya kudos to him, I'm blanking on his username. Hopefully everything works like in years past, but contracts might be interesting as that was the only thing they revamped for franchise mode. Let's hope that there aren't any issues with respect to contracts.

obviously there has been lots of changes this week with rosters and prospects for teams, so it's not going to be exactly as that its brilliant work making it easy for export purposes for 19.

As I said any prospects that have to be created I will import a player called 'open slot' it will make it more easier. and easy for OCD people like me to have a structure haha!

BDaniels20 is working on the spreadsheet for some of the teams. and has about half done. he is using fangraphs to get a lot of the info. so we should be good there we got less then a week to go now we are just about ready.

I will be interested to know when the cut off point of the rosters will be. with the M2O mode they may cut it very fine I hope.. so we will get the Gio signing with the yankees. less work and backdating to do hopefully.

Just to be clear, I was making these spreadsheets for my personal use and how I was planning on editing the OSFM roster for my franchise. Obviously with the news that OSFM may not be coming out for a while and CRP acting as a sort of place holder I figured I might as well send them to you guys to see if it would speed up your process at all and if it didn’t I already had them done and sending them to Niner was no extra work on my part. Hopefully they help in some way and I assume they will as it will at least be a base to work off of and saves someone work in some regard.

That being said, they are based on how I personally like to play the game and would be editing whatever roster comes out into my own file. Below are some of the things that I tend to prefer that I know others don’t and are a bit different than how the base these rosters sometimes are.

Injuries – I don’t really find myself using opening day sets or sticking to that as I like to kind of create my own universe. So as far as injured players go and those that may start the season on the IL, they’re not all in Single A in the spreadsheets. I didn’t really use a firm cut-off on who went on the 25 man or Single A and it was mostly just feel and how I wanted the roster to look. But a June return is probably a good idea of who’s not “injured” and who is. (Off the top of my head guys like Didi and Ohtani are both on 25 Man in those spreadsheets while guys like McCullers and Manaea are in Single A.)

Prospects – I tend to prefer actual prospects to random minor league fillers that will never even have a chance at playing in the MLB. Because of that most teams Single A teams are mainly teenagers that are far from being called up.

Roster Construction – Partly because of what I mentioned above on prospects but also because of the AIs lack of roster management I tend to build the rosters pretty similar for all teams. I’ve found in the past that a lot of roster seems to carry a bunch of excess catchers who play no purpose in the overall scheme of the organization in real life and given the 65 Player Minor Leagues limit fill no purpose in the game to me. That being said, every AAA AA level has 2 catchers on the roster. I don’t recall there being all that many but obviously if there are prospect catchers that aren’t currently playing at those levels they’d be in Single A. Similarly, to catchers, I’ve noticed either an excess of 1B in some organizations or a lack of useable first basemen. So same thing as above every AAA AA level has 2 1B listed.

Currentness – I’ve been doing these whenever I had time for the past week/10 days and obviously moves have been made since I started that. I haven’t yet gone back and re-checked any team since I originally did them so some things are sure to have changed and I'm sure theyre are some mistakes in them as I haven't double checked any team yet.

Like I said, I know a lot of people don’t enjoy playing this way and would rather have the random Minor League Fillers over the teenagers which I totally get and was usually the way OSFM operated. These were just for my personal use but because of the news with OSFM and what not I figured I might as well contribute them and hopefully they help.

I think it is the most realistic way to go having teenagers in A ball. obviously as injuries pile up some of the players like you mentioned will have to sit in A ball.

those Minor leave players if we don't have room we won't remove we can have them in the free agents. it actually worries me though with free agents because they seem to be adding more legends each year we are getting less room for free agents..

I've just created Ranger's prospect SP Brock Burke who is replacing RP Jack Leathersich after he got released. Everything is complete about the player EXCEPT the ratings. If any of y'all are good at ratings for prospects PM me, I'll upload these players to the vault starting with CRP (i.e. Burke would be uploaded as CRP Brock Burke. If y'all have any more open spots to fill with prospects I can do it. Thanks.

I'm pretty positive ninertravel is taking TheBabyBomber roster and importing into the Show 19 release day roster.
