The changes are included in the spreadsheet on the first page: SecPos indicates secondary position was changed. New potentials are listed for who received changes.Comment

Re: The TrueSim Roster Project: MLB 19
First of all, thank you for your hard work, without people like you this game would be unplayable. My question is, what is everyone's thoughts on minor league statistics? After simming through 1 season I noticed that AA and AAA offensive numbers are well below actual league average. The average team ERA is around 3.35 which is clearly way too low. Does anyone have any suggestions as to bow to fix this issue without altering ratings for every milb player? Thanks.Comment

I'm not sure about minor league ERAs, but I can say with certainity that MLB ERAs are within realistic ranges, when using the suggested sliders for simming
The easiest way to increase ERAs otherwise is to lower pitching clutch for players in the minors; there is no other easy wayComment

Were you simulating with the suggested slider settings?

I should have mentioned that the MLB stats were fantastic, it's just the MiLB stats that are light. I'll go ahead and make some adjustments to pitching and hitting clutch and see what happens. Thank you for the response and thank you again for this roster, which is the best available in my opinion.Comment

Re: The TrueSim Roster Project: MLB 19
Love the roster, Cycloniac! I'm curious about one thing though... how did you determine each batter's lefty/righty splits? Some of them seem really odd.
For example, Tyler Austin on the Giants has a career OPS of .890 against lefties, and .657 OPS against righties, yet his contact and power are fairly even between righties and lefties.
I've noticed this for quite a few players, who would normally be platoon types, but with this roster, there's no significant platoon splits showing in the contact/power numbers, that I can see.
Just curious how those numbers came about. Thanks!Comment

If he were to have his ratings updated to only use this season's data, his splits would look like this:
Contact vs Righties 39 (.156 avg)
Contact vs Lefties 57 (.227 avg)
Power vs Righties 96 (.244 ISO)
Power vs Lefties 88 (.228 ISO)
Last year, his splits weren't quite so drastic, but he is beter against lefties. He is actually being used in a platoon role in my new franchise (just started today with v2) by San Francisco.
Since 2018 was Austin's first MLB season with more than 100 PAs, regression was applied.
Generally speaking, the only thing I try to do differently with the splits concerns the power ratings. As a rule, a player's PWR vs L must be 20 points lower than his PWR vs R as a minimum. Since on average, only 26 percent of MLB PAs occur vs left-handed pitching, this helps balance out the results as the results vs lefties can have extreme variance from season to season.
It also follows logic that players do not simply lose "power" versus a lefty or righty. They simply hit better, worse, or evenly ISO-wise, which can change drastically, so I try to account for that. It also helps OVR wise too to take this approach. Since 3 years of splits (where possible) are used, they may not always be as drastic.
With all of that being said, I do see quite a few platoon guys. When I tradded for Jake Lamb in my first franchise, I really had to be careful with him because he is awful vs lefties, but he gets on base at an above average clip and hits the ball well vs righties.Last edited by Cycloniac; 07-02-2019, 05:50 PM.Comment

Re: The TrueSim Roster Project: MLB 19
Okay, so for the second time around restarting franchise w/your updates. Has anyone noticed the players playing better than before? I've seen some great plays offensively and defensively. Smoother contact and power...randomly though theres batting glitches were the bat disappears and reappears on the opposite hand/body..just cosmetic issues there....but the rosters are way better now w/the changes you made cycloniac! Cheers bro!!

Re: The TrueSim Roster Project: MLB 19
When editing gear color for various equipment does anyone know how the pattern for team color 1,2 or 3 is determined? Been playing the show since ps2 but I'm just now starting to actually try and learn how to edit equipment based on the uniform you chose per game....if that made any sense lol
