Re: 1000+ Hour MLB Roster 2021......
Nobody asked you the question, you get that right? They asked BrianMcNulty11 that question, you know, since the thread is discussing his roster.
If you put half the time into your own roster, that you put into trolling other roster creators, you may get more traffic to your thread.
I can't help but picture a little child behind a keyboard writing this response.
Imagine thinking I'm trolling because I responded to an inquiry a guy put out. A thread isn't only for the use of the creator, it's for everybody. Man asked a question about Eugenio Suarez, and I responded with some ratings he could use to alleviate his questions. You decided to blow a gasket for some odd reason because of that.
Go have a snickers. You're not you when you're hungryComment

Re: 1000+ Hour MLB Roster 2021......
I have no idea what the heck this drivel back-and-forth is here....it's nuts.
Listen...rosters are no different than sliders, they are not "one size fits all". Some of ya'll are acting like there is a "right" or "wrong" here in terms of roster design....guess what, there isn't.
You don't like the concept behind someone else's roster design, move onto another that you do or make your own. If every roster used the same overall concept, it would be boring as heck.
There's a big difference in "helping" a roster creator by identifying an obvious error (a duplicate player or something) vs questioning their entire approach. What some in here are doing is basically the roster thread equivalent of going into a slider thread for directional hitting and arguing about how the game "should be played with Zone". It's immature and inappropriate.
Learn to understand the concept behind what a creator is doing and why they are taking that approach BEFORE offering "advice".Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.Comment

Re: 1000+ Hour MLB Roster 2021......
You DO realize that simulation stats don't matter to many people that play the game, right? (And the game hasn't been out long enough for you to physically play the 1000s of games necessary to draw the conclusions you're making - you're undoubtedly relying on sim stats...which, depending on the audience, may or may not matter them).
If you make a slew of changes to bump up the strikeout rate even more for the sake of sim stats, you completely ruin the game on the field. Why? Because there are already WAY too many strikeouts when you actually play the game if you use the base rosters. What this roster does very well is help to clean that up.
That's why I said that every roster focuses on something different. The focus here is very clearly different than what your focus is.Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.Comment

Re: 1000+ Hour MLB Roster 2021......
I agree with this. I'm not going to make changes like that. But every so often I will for specific players, like Eugenio Suarez. He's absolutely terrible hitting now and wanted to see what McNulty or someone else thought about him is all. His contact attributes without question I think everyone who follows baseball knows are extremely too high. But you're right, if you're playing games there are plenty of strikeouts.
Sorry everyone for the rouse. I didn't mean for it to turn into some big deal. You DO realize that simulation stats don't matter to many people that play the game, right? Even using base ratings averages, a guy like Eugenio Suarez has his attributes very far off.
Additionally, players that fit certain archetypes (e.g. Nico Hoerner being a strong contact hitter) should be edited to fit that archetype regardless of the actual final ratings you come to. Also, splits stats should still be adhered to (e.g. Anthony Rizzo is not as good against LHP as he is RHP)
So I'm sorry, but your point isn't really valid. If you don't want perfect accuracy on sim, I get that. But getting archetypes and split stats right should be a basic aspect of a roster IMOComment

Re: 1000+ Hour MLB Roster 2021......
I personally don't care about lefty righty splits. I brought up Saurez cause after one month into my franchise he is hitting .349. Looked at his attributes and they are ridiculously too high for him, so that'd why I asked what others may edit him down to if they were to do so. I should not fear him as a hitter if playing against him. And if playing as Reds I shouldn't feel confident at all that he's going to even make contact let alone get a base hit.
There's no right or wrong answer. Just wanted to see where others might put his contact attributes so I had an idea where to edit him myself.Even using base ratings averages, a guy like Eugenio Suarez has his attributes very far off.

To each their own. To me at least, I want to see guys at least have the same archetype as in real life. Whatever ratings you use to get there is up to you.Comment

Re: 1000+ Hour MLB Roster 2021......
Yeah I get that, but too many damn players to worry about for me lol. I look for extreme cases like Saurez if I'm gonna edit anything. Other than that I just play the game and whatever happens happens. These rosters are amazing, I don't want anyone to get it twisted. Been having a blast playing using them! Great job and much appreciated for real, McNulty.Comment

Re: 1000+ Hour MLB Roster 2021......
Just popping in to check the thread. I've been updating this roster with real transactions daily and fine tuning things. Also taken some of the feedback and worked it into the file as best I could. Planning on a re-release for right after the MLB Draft. Gonna try to get at least all 1st rounders into that update. Franchise has so many bugs it's not a great time right now anyway.
So be on the lookout for that. Have a good week gang.

Re: 1000+ Hour MLB Roster 2021......
What exact bugs are you referring to? I knew of some being present in franchise but I’m sick of waiting for a patch and want to start a franchise. If the bugs make franchise unplayable then I’ll just go back to 20. Which is a shame because the gameplay on 21 is really enjoyable to me. I’m just ready to play actual meaningful games and manage a team through a season.Comment

- bug where 5-6 teams play only day games at home, all the time
- cpu making roster moves for you if you use trade block
- service time/rookie status is broken
Those are just ones I've seen. Probably a ton more.
